- Опубліковано 5 лип 2022
- Boris Johnson’s refusal to accept that he has lost the trust of Conservative MPs has triggered another wave of ministerial resignations.
Brandon Lewis quit his Cabinet post as Northern Ireland Secretary, telling the Prime Minister the Government requires “honesty, integrity and mutual respect” and it is “now past the point of no return”.
His departure was soon followed by a string of other ministers as the number of MPs quitting government and party posts since Tuesday evening topped 50.
Helen Whately quit as a Treasury minister, telling Mr Johnson: “I have argued that you should continue as Prime Minister many times in recent months, but there are only so many times you can apologise and move on. That point has been reached.”
Damian Hinds resigned as security minister, telling Mr Johnson there has been a “serious erosion” in standards in public life and “faith in our democracy and public administration”.
He said on Twitter: “It shouldn’t take the resignation of dozens of colleagues, but for our country, and trust in our democracy, we must have a change of leadership.”
Science minister George Freeman wrote to the Prime Minister to say he no longer has confidence in his leadership.
In his resignation letter, he told Mr Johnson “the chaos in your Cabinet and No 10 this month is destroying our credibility” and “it can’t go on”.
What could Boris Johnson do to save his job?
It doesn't matter what he does - by nature of the man he will be gone before the next election.

Brexit could work, it's the but hurt who need to throw a spanner in the works, because they think they are better when in true fact they get fewer perks and backhanders and might need to work more. EU is hardly a utopia, despite the BBC blanket banning all the problems they are having for 6 years!
Also the fact that we just become a puppet of the US instead of the EU. The UK could've made a great trade partnership with China but was shot down by Bojo to appease Trump
They did everything they could to try and stymie Brexit, and don't think for an instant they've stopped trying....
Never has one persons opinion mattered so little, Michael Heseltine.
Lord Heseltine's opinion matters the most.
@@rohitballal5654 why's that?
Heseltine is king remoaner. Why?. Because he was getting £90,000 a year EU subsidy for his farm.

He used to get £90k land subsidiaries from the EU. That's his reason.
No, there are other people as daft as you are.
It's the people who spoke. Not somebody getting EU grants and perks. He really is a out of touck Toff.
Yeah, "the people". Enjoy Brexit!
The main thing Boris can do to regain the Tory votes is to complete Brexit and say goodbye to European laws. Secondly get the the illegal immigrants under control. I am Tory over and voted to leave and that is what I want to see happening.
So the Australians, Kiwis and other whites who overstay need to be thrown out or just the non-white ones?
But he is not doing any thing about it and has no intention of doing so. He is a globalist puppet just like Macron, Biden, Trudo Merkal etc. Taking orders from the likes of Claus Swabb at The world economic forum
That's old thinking now and no longer fit for purpose
@@pfauniversal1890 There are still gullible, naive idiots out there that have no idea, but you seem to think that Boris is going to complete Brexit when it has not even started. @@RE-ng5uw totally agree, I think it was a clause in the BREXIT deal, but Boris won't tell us that will he 😎
If Boris goes Brexit goes says the old ‘could have been’ who never quite arrived.
According to Boris' ex(Jennifer Accuri) - the actual Brexit result was a landslide(closer to 70%) - so Heseltine is probably in for a shock here. I also think what with the added problem of the mass immigration on the Kent coast - then that's probably has made people even more anti-EU.
It's not a added problem , apart from Brexit this is the MAIN reason he was elected ,the whole of parliament as been avoiding the people's wishes for years anyone who has a way of actually doing something including sending the illegal immigrants already here would be PM tomorrow .
Planes to Rwanda 😂 a joke should be sending ships full to France and Africa 🚢.
You take your electoral statistics from Boris's ex ?
It’s about time Heseltine shuffled off this mortal coil🤣
Don’t people realise that it’s useless going to the opinion polls due to the fact that the sensible majority now keep their mouths shut because of the left wing woke bullies.
@Tom Why do people like you perpetuate a myth? If you'd have been in his position, you'd've wrecked Brexit, because you don't have the wisdom, and his political nous.
Jeremy Hunt couldn't think of anyone worse
If Boris and Britexit goes so do the Conservatives. Not one potential leader of any worth
If we had a chance to vote on the maastricht treaty we would never had needed brexit. We simply would never had voted for union. We voted for a trading block
Yes, Major slipped this under the radar, he wasn't straight with the public.
And the Lisbon treaty that Brown slipped in by sending Milliband to sign it off .
Absolutely right! Had we had a referendum on Maastrict and voted it down as all the polls indicated, we would probably still be in the EU or whatever they decided to call it. John Major, in denying us a vote created UKIP and the rest, as they say, is history.
Heseltine to a tee; "There's no fool like an old fool".
Go back to sleep silly old sod DONT TURN YOUR BACK ON HIM
Zahawi will get a big shock when he sees the cost of the channel illegals, still hundreds getting in, our country has been ruined between, Blair,May,and now Johnson,
It does not matter who leads the Torys, they will carry on regardless of carrying out the NWO great reset agenda as we saw with Major, Blair, Cameron, May and now Boris. If you seriously think that some one else is going to become Margaret Thatcher you are deluded
Why would he give a toss, he's Iranian.
Heseltine...one rich landowner. Leaving the EU...and the end eventually to land grants & subsidies....was always going to give him indigestion.
As for his claim about the opinion polls, it's about how the question is framed. Are we happy we voted to Leave? Yes. Are we happy about how Johnson's managed Brexit? No. He's been pathetically weak. We should have cut our ties (including to the ECHR and yes, I know it's not part of the EU but it does its bidding, so it might as well be), focused on the Commonwealth and other countries that actually want our trade, made the most of the oil and gas we have rather than kowtowing to the green lobby, and got on with it.
We could have appeased many soft greens by focusing on national sovereignty for energy (ie. Nuclear). Agree, one doesn't judge Brexit after a poorly implemented Brexit by Boris. Dropping ECHR is fundamental to regaining border control and manifest justice.
It appears that the governments idea of brexit is different to the publics idea of brexit
I agree, Johnson and the rest of them were/are all full of wind and pathetically weak, not only on the EU issue but many other things including protecting ur borders and our economy from illegal immigration. It astounds me how these idiots believe that it's ok to talk about overturning what was a democratic vote to leave the EU, no better than the snp who are advocating the same for another independence referendum despite a democratic vote to remain in the Union! Politics is a shambles across the board and it's the people of the country who have to suffer.
@@RE-ng5uw the public’s idea of brexit was opening fire on anyone that looks / sounds foreign, so yeah you’re probably right.
@@nawaz345 That is total garbage and you know it. A typical racist comment.
Stopping Brexit in the minds of EU zealots has always depended on removing Boris. The trouble for them is that the public even those not interested in Politics can see straight through this. How frustrating for the media luvvies and Labour who have no chance of forming a government after the next General election.
Totally agree
My thoughts exactly
If anything good has come out of the past two years, it's that most people no longer believe anything they read in the media, (the exception proving the rule being the Guardian readers 🤷).
If the Conservatives soften their stance on Brexit they're done.
Let’s be honest, Heseltine would say this, he lined his pockets with EU money!!
