@@JSp4wN Depends why they are there. If it's just that they don't want to learn how to play more legit and so they are 'stuck' in gold league, then it's not smurfing. However, if they're actually better than gold and they leave games to reduce their MMR, then it's smurfing.
Hi Lowko, just wanted to drop you BIG THANKS for how you running the channel and videos. I watch you with my wife every day. We dont play starcraft but that does not change a fact that you comment and do your work in such entertaining way that we dont imagine a day without Lowko :P We will never be tired of you backing in the video sometimes couse you saw a little zergling doing "x".. and your jokes are our style
23:50 absolutely bodied me, thank you for continuing to be such an amazing caster and entertainer Lowko! You make my days as a student so much brighter, cheers!
It's funny that Lowko talks about how awesome it is that these games start with 12 SCVs now instead of like the 4 or 5 it had originally. It makes me laugh because I got into RTS games way back with Warcraft II (yes, I'm pretty old) and in those multiplayer matches, you started with a townhall and one peasant. Townhalls also maxed out at 5 peasants and only had one place that you could mine from (Warcraft III continued that). Of course, you also could only hold 9 units in a single army as well and if you had more than that, you had to hotkey them to another one (Warcraft I was even worse, only allowing 4 units, but that was before I got into it). I still remember that 5 knights and 4 archers, or later after teching up a bit, 5 paladins and 5 mages was one of the best army compositions. These games have certainly come a long way.
Talking Warcraft 3 at least (my favourite RTS), units are much more supply heavy. Workers in both WC3 and SC2 are 1 supply, except WC3 has a 100 supply cap compared to SC2's 200. Likewise the big units in WC3 are 6-7 supply compared to 6 in SC2. At only 12 units per control group in WC3, with supply being what it is you generally just need two groups for a maxed army, maybe three. What really drove me up the wall is SC1, where you also have the 12 unit per group limitation but supply is the same as SC2. Coupled with the really shitty pathfinding it made controlling large groups of marines or lings a giant nightmare, haha.
@@the_rabidsquirel for sure, sc2 is so much better at least for multiplayer because it eliminated all these weird caps. It's really what allowed for such diverse play. It's actually really cool how all these things affect the optimal play. Very interesting game theory problem these rts games are.
I would really really enjoy if you started a "legacy cast" series, where you go back and cast old important or casual pro games. I would love to see how far the meta has come.
man, after watching game one i didnt think anything could be more painful to watch... then i watched game two 😂. Gotta give these guys props for trying though
These players are really good for their rank. Usually we get to see total potatoes which makes you wonder how they can be so bad. However, these players look like actual players in those leagues. They try to actively win. They have a strategy. They control their units. I can actually can see competing with those players in an online match.
4:35 If ShooShooBaby just sent a unit or a few up the ramp to scout, they would've seen the opponent had nothing, and they might've actually been able to win right there if they pushed.
Watching these lower leagues always feels like I’m going to the zoo, and it is a very similar feeling to when I watch the monkeys throw their poop at each other and screech 🙈
Im actually impressed by the plat players in the second game. There was some logic of what to do throughout the game and a lot of the stuff they did seemed sensible. Of course they arent perfect but my replays also aren't perfect.
Lowko, You said that scrolling the camera is more in efficient that non doing so. Now of course aside from control groups and hot keys do you have any other tips for controlling camera? Personally I drag with middle mouse button a lot. Do pros never move the camera basically?
Lowko, can you please enlighten me, how do you find and choose replays for showing? I noticed more silver gold replays lately... For comparison, I'm watching Alex007 and there are not really much of silver gold replays. For example, if I'll send you a replay that i think is interesting (primarily because the whole map had been mined out) can i get a place in your video? Is this the way? I'm just out of ideas.
No, it was zerg who plays awful. The only thing terran have is too hight micro, even for plat. But it was not the reason he win. There were 3 or 4 things wich strongly ruind zerg build order. Even for a gold player such poor execution is a disaster.
Lowko I notice you say us who don't play wouldn't be able to do better but come on. Even a child would know to fly that banshee away immediately. I bet with two days of learning I could do better than these guys
Only 6ft (around 2m) Lowko? Nah mate Marines are around 8ft (I think 2.5m), Marauders around 9ft (3m). And then of course there's SCVs thare are literal mechs that are probably 12-15ft, 4-5m.
So i played a wee bit back in 2017, and did very badly. Except for 2 matches after i watched the video 'how to zerg rush' where you send a probe to kill their probes, make 6 zerglins, and rush mutalisks before they make things can shoot up. That was good cheese. i don't remember how to do it, but my 3rd ever multiplayer match being called a smurf is a core memory XD (like i literally just did everything in the video ignoring my opponent's response entirely). But i haven't played since, and i was wondering, since campaign REALLY doesn't teach you much, if you could make a lowko custom mode/campaign that teaches multiplayer concepts, like cameras, hotkeys, etc? something like a custom melee, but with an actual progression system. Introduce a concept/mechanic, act on that mechanic to win the match, move on to next training match?
THIS is silver league?! Look, I know I’m bad. In fact, I suck. But I can do leagues better than this on a macro scale, and probably match or go a little worse on the micro
Damn even dark is in viewer submitted games, very impressive
Lowko: " 6 foot marine and a 2 meter wing span drone" you're getting your metrics into my Imperial. 😂
I feel like 90% of gold league players are there on purpose 😂
Totally true!
Is that like "smurfing"?

Strategic focus fire of the unbuildable debree on the opponents side at 18:51!😂

Glad you like them!

shooshoobaby giving a gg wp was beautiful to see, true sportsman
Sometimes in a mirror match you fight all your mirrored strength and all your mirrored weakness.
"A Terran vs Terran on the map "Dragon Scales". You can recognize it by, I guess, the dragon scales." - Lowko, April 12th 2023 🤣
ShooShooBaby: you may have outsmarted me. But I outsmarted your outsmarting!
You have surprisingly nice singing voice my man. Shoo Shoo Babyyyy~
It’s stuck in my head lmao
I love this viewer games.
Oh the almighty gold league cheese😂😂
man, after watching game one i didnt think anything could be more painful to watch... then i watched game two 😂. Gotta give these guys props for trying though
I don't think I should be judging cause I'm silver rn. But I have some decent micro and macro and can produce stuff while attacking
This was painful to watch. Why you do this to me lowko.
I am about to break my fast and eat so this is perfect to watch and enjoy a meal to.
A week ago I finally played starcraft2 for the first time. About 10 games on ladder and was placed plat2. Only from watching so many of your vids
Feels good man

Lowko! thank you so much for getting me thru tough times with the videos :D
Hang in there Angelo!
@32:02 painful F2 that cost him all his workers
For those that wonders... A Mule costs 50 Energy and goes 8-9 trips, which will give you 200-225 minerals.
Realistically an extra cc (that isn't made for mining bases just for orbital) needs at least 4 mules to be worth it in terms of money
Man, I thought I sucked at SC...these guys are on a different tier.
4:35 If ShooShooBaby just sent a unit or a few up the ramp to scout, they would've seen the opponent had nothing, and they might've actually been able to win right there if they pushed.
Thanks Lowko... you have given me a Good laugh with those two games...😂😂
Feels like ShooShoo spent half of the game not making literally anything.
The first one was very chaotic, but while the second game started off the same, it became a quite tense game instead!
I love how much you learn just by watching your castings. Hadn´t watched you for a while but came back to sc2 and now I am bingewatching you. tank you
Fantastic game. One doesn't have to be top 10 to play their heart out
I feel blessed to not have known about APM until trying to crack diamond 1 from diamond 2.
Lesson learned... don't bind stim to rapid fire.
I have the feeling that a lots of Polt's moves were just to troll you Lowko.
Thank you for posting!

Terran has played excellent for a silver league. Just build more units and maybe if he had upgrades it would be easier for him.

Either one could have won with continued scv production
If this was rank roulette, who would have guessed silver 1 for the first game? Lowko if you read this I am curious haha

The first game was cringe, the second one was peak entertainment *cheff kiss*
I laugh at this but this is most likely what I play like
I think Polt’s APM was all stim pack spam

in lore a single scv could fight off 10 marines
How that terran won that 1st game?! lol
It could be better if he go for Banshees or Mines. Tanks are useless if you do not have control over them.
27:07 Flashback on the viewer turnament 🙂
so you are saying, drones are pytherodactyles?
Oh my God, first match is so bad.
Gold League heroes are amazing. More games like this, please :-)
These games were a new level of bad. It hurt soo much
Polt got really rusty xD
Bruh these viewer games are not a good night stories 😴💤🧠
turtle fight😅
