    Awesome! I had saved this video two years ago and only just now watching it! Had I watched it two years ago I wouldn't have had a clue what you were talking about but now that I'm familiar with Illustrator it all made perfect sense - great tip on how to measure that gusset panel!

    I was sewing bags too and making my patterns with corel draw (i have illustrator but corel much easier to me). I was having hard time making the length of the pieces with curved corners. you saved my day. thank you so so much.

    Did this is awesome. I've been wanting to get into pattern design for leather work and this is exactly what I was looking for. It also takes some fo the mystery out of how the current bag templates I buy line up the curves to the exactly lengths they need to be. Thanks for this video!

    I really enjoyed this thanks. I use many of the same align/distribute commands for distributing graphics on geologic maps, cool! I just started making small pouches and bags but the goal someday is to be able to make backpacks for me and my kids.

    Hi Steve great tutorial. I am new to leather work and not even made my own pattern yet. I am busy looking around what program to use - Adobe, CAD or i see some guys use Sketchup. My only question is how to make it into the size of A4 so my customers can print it at their home printer? I did see your video on how to print at home but Id like to know how to do that on AI.       I export a full, at scale document and go through the process I did in the other video. Unfortunately I have not found a way to do this in AI

      @@BagBuff well yes but before it was on a bit of paper and it changed along the way when it all didn't fit properly, but now after this video I can be confident that things fit together better and go from head design to fabric more seamlessly

      You could use “blend” to automatically mark out all the stitch marks along a path!

      Hey Deanna! They should have a large format printer that prints 36" wide paper. When I email them I always say "Please print on large format printer with 36" paper". I've not had an issue, but I've only used my local Kinkos. I am not sure if all of them have the same machines. Let me know if you have any issues!

    Hi, great video! Loved it! I have a question though regarding the bottom side and pocket panels. Shouldn’t the padding be on the pocket panel since the bottom side panel will cover it? Rather than having the padding on the outer layer ? Thanks

      You can put the padding wherever you want. It’s your design! Most bags don’t pad them side pockets though.

    I have a question... I need someone to make a digital pattern to get a sample made. but my production place is saying it'll be 200-300 bucks just for the pattern alone. how can i work around this? i obviously need but i thought i could outsource this smaller task to someone else. but finding people who make digital patterns is actually quite difficult, which im surprised by. anyone got a clue?
