- Stepmates Studios’ Mark Nicholson has called out Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s social media post, which criticised possible locations for nuclear power plants.
“People call what I do is propaganda, I’ve never seen more propaganda on a bloke’s social media than this,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Yo actually don't need much imagination. Go check out the South Australian coastline West of Adelaide. Wind towers destroying the otherwise magnificent scenery on virtually every ridge as far as the eye can see. AND .... they still need massive interstate connectors to Vic and NSW to bring in coal generated electricity to keep the lights on.

I wouldn't mind living next door to a nuclear plant, I'd help them build it, work in it, and reap the benefits of very cheap electricity available 24/7 regardless of weather. But the bird blenders and sun plates can go to buggery.

A nuclear reactor would be far safer for the environment than a plethora of windmills or photo voltaics neither of which can be recycled at the end of life.
Factually incorrect. Almost 100% of both a PV cell and a wind turbine are recyclable. There are companies in Australia and the US that do it now. In the US there are companies that recycle the turbine blades into ingredients for cement used in the construction industry.

Wind turbine blades are not recycled. Some claim they are used in cement, that is simply to dispose of the waste. Nuclear is a perfect option for firm generation. Wind and solar are non-dispatchable non-synchronous generation systems that cannot supply a 24hr grid on their own.
@@pwillis1589 Almost none of the methods used are remotely clean and/or economically beneficial, and those that are participating are doing so at a loss and represent a drop in the ocean of waste that is being landfilled as it routinely presents the cheapest available option. Seriously, PV cell recycling involves chemical processes that generate more toxic waste than dumping them does, even if the glass can be re-used efficiently. I would laud them for the attempt, but it's really just seeking a solution for the problem they caused.

There is no controversy over the sites that nuclear power plants could be located. If one was proposed for say behind Lithgow where the current coal generators and coal field are, the VAST majority of the local community would jump at the chance. Without it the town will slowly (quickly actually) wither and die. A maximum security prison alone is not enough to keep the place viable.

The huge solar farms create massive dark, flat surfaces resulting in heat islands that, if unchecked, will feed massive amounts of heat into the atmosphere, thus raising local and regional temperature, ultimately fuelling global warming.

Sorry, I'm a lefty, and I don't think nuclear power is absolutely ridiculous, I think there are a lot of questions that needs to be answered before we go down that road, but if the answers are reasonable and truthful I can't see why not. In Victoria, unless there are radical innovations in solar technology, we can't wait for something that may not come, solar ain't going to cut the mustard. We just don't get enough sunshine.

Was thinking about a gearing system to that costly industry on gas nuke coal wind to the load run amounts imagine 1/3 that total per year alone to gas needs including as that hundred watt missed would still get that x4 kilowatt output especially to spec's??? it's got unity enough to run it's self oops....
