Killed by someone who actually did care about his mother and not her money. But he was too poor and lacked the intelligence to win in court. She would never understand that as she was happy for the gangster to kill her own mother.
Shot...by the one guy she probably didn't think ANYTHING of after what she did to him and his mother. But he sure has hell DIDN'T, when a man has nothing more left to lose they can be the most dangerous. On this ending I quote what the Penguin said in 'Batman Returns'' "Tragic Irony or Poetic Justice? You tell me?" Bit of both I like to think.
I couldn't stand her. At least other criminals like drug dealers, smugglers, arm dealers, embezzlers, pimps, insder traders or whatever criminal you want to take don't pretend being good persons that care about people. I don't know if you could make a more hypocrite criminal that her.
And yet.... it's cathartic wish fulfillment. As a study of late-stage capitalism it leaves us with a good feeling of who the bad guys are, and how the establishment is too stupid or corrupt to fix it (i.e. the judge). We get to see the victim reverse his position and end her life, just like she ended his mother's. But in reality, her kind of predatory behaviour happens every day, from corporations and governments all the way down and no-one strikes back. Who is the winner in their situation? Is blood for blood justified? Would you take a prison sentence to satisfy that debt of a life for a life you hold dear? Any film that asks these questions is a winner to me.
Just to be clear... I think if she had walked away without any consequences, to me that would be just as powerful an ending because it truly reflects the situation we face now, where a protected ultra-rich class can operate outside the law and the normal boundaries that we accept.
Very satisfying, they made her stronger than russian mafia. Of course, it's an American movie, they need to show that an american woman ia strongher than a russian mafia boss, got it
That is ridiculous. They should have made the movie so that the Russian mafia makes the deal with her sooner. Only another type of mafia would have protected her from the Russians.
I love Rosamund Pike, however, here the role that she was playing was so detestable, that it was hard to watch. This whole story with old people literally broke me heart. I cannot imagine such a system is possible. On the other hand, I have read about the stories of Charlie Guard and Alfie Evans with parents being deprived of the right to choose what is best for their children, with children being left to die. So, I presume, this can really be possible.
Unluckily, it is, and I do not understand how Americans are not blowing off the phones, emails and letterboxes of their congresspeople and senators, because it is incredible that this stuff is legal: www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/10/09/how-the-elderly-lose-their-rights
If it makes you feel better, it's likely a lot of the dirty laundry would get aired as a result of the guy's trial and everything she built would've crumbled to pieces.
If she'd been acted out by a less attractive character I'm sure a lot less people would root for her (not necessarily u, just in her general following)
Why does it STILL feel like they're trying to draw sympathy for this character? The close ups, the wedding rings, too long spent on the crying wife. Like wtf, did they not torture and kidnap old people all this movie while having sex in celebration of their evil deeds? Arguably their victims are at a level of vulnerability akin to children. The shooter gets demeaned and treated like shit at the start of the film, and still looks a little wacko here. He's like the only sympathetic character in the story, but of course they have to paint him as some anti woman jackass so they can release some female rage on him.
No matter how rich and powerful you are never underestimate someone who has nothing to lose ...
right
This... this does put a smile on my face.
Her last words:
Oh listen, I don’t have time-
That’s the most honest thing you’ve ever said, Marla.
I love this who's laughing now situation. The way Marla was outplayed is just brilliant.
You know it's a weird film when the minor person who reappears at the end just to shoot the protagonist is the only sympathetic character.
Well she is the antagonist
Stunning film

The real definition of what come around go's around
A satisfying end to a vulgar character...
I couldn't stand her. At least other criminals like drug dealers, smugglers, arm dealers, embezzlers, pimps, insder traders or whatever criminal you want to take don't pretend being good persons that care about people.

capitalism and white feminism were that character
Waiting for that for the very 1st minute of the movie !!!
And I am not sure but he kinda shoot her right in the heart ! Quite a good shot there 👍

HOOOORAAAAAY! There’s a god
She played a hateful character but she did it well. I'm happy with the ending though.
The movie is urrealistic the mafia will be able to take the mother out of the residence.
It's too bad we didn't actually get to see her die on screen. A bit of confirmation would've been nice. Other than that, a very satisfying ending.
maybe they left it like that for the sequel if they want to continue the movie
Her motionless hand full of blood on the pavement is already proof enough. It's very rare to survive a gunshot wound at the heart.
When you hurt someones heart you can LOSE a heart.

But..muh feminism..
Ridiculous!

@@isabelguzmanmiranda5025 It's an American film, they can't show that the Russians are stronger. If this was real, she wouldn't have even met the boss
She got outsmarted 😅
Ahh I was happy at end

it's not only possible, but happening every day
An underestimated film where the one who didn't lost is the viewer!
Always double tap
Triple tap with this one lol,Such a well acted villain
@@deanj846 I know I really hated her.
@@displayname8771 🤣
i love this ending
Perfect ending. 3:56. I love the fear in her eyes
If you're gonna use a fucking gun, double tap.
The best ending, she got what she deserved #Karma. Honestly, she was lucky enough to make it far, because imagine if she fucked with drug cartel.
A happy ending after all (:
Finally, you reap what you sow. She made me sick.
Does someone has the reference for Fran's jacket at the end ?
No sorry I was more into the watches they were wearing
What is it than??
Marla vs Salamancas. Movie ends much faster
Very satisfying but her girlfriend should have got it too
Just to think people like her exist everywhere
If it makes you feel better, it's likely a lot of the dirty laundry would get aired as a result of the guy's trial and everything she built would've crumbled to pieces.
Yo, What the hell gym looks like that!?
SoulCycle is literally just like this 😭😭😭
This is how I see corporations...
This movie is about BRITNEY SPEARS conservatorship 😢
OSCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR OSCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
This is why I’m communist

Am I the only one who was rooting for Rosamund Pike the whole time ? Im all about that whatever it takes to get to the top thing.
All for money says a lot about character
If she'd been acted out by a less attractive character I'm sure a lot less people would root for her (not necessarily u, just in her general following)
Yes
you must be a terrible person
Rubbish utter rubbish. So inmoral that it hurts
