Magnus coming late to every game is such a genius move, you can tell it gets into his opponents head everytime
Why ? How does it gets to their minds ?
@@genekisayan6564 The stress of being made to wait really messes with the mind in a situation like this. You may think lots of different things in this position, like you just wanna play/get this over with, what'll happen if the other player doesn't turn up (postpone the match, perhaps), maybe the other player's going to be really good when they eventually get here and start, then you've also got the "oh sh*t" feeling of when they do eventually turn up, putting all of that existing pressure and ramping it up higher because it's finally starting. While it's not quite the same, imagine you're waiting for an interview and the interviewer is late seeing you, and you're made to sit in silence until they can see you. It puts so much more pressure on you. If this is an intentional move by Carlson, it's pretty evil, lol.
Is it a genius move, or is it just the custom/tradition for the stronger player to arrive later?
@@genekisayan6564 How? For the psychological effect of saying to your opponent I can spot you almost an extra minute of precious time and still whip your azz 😎
And the fact that Magnus is always the first to move, makes it even more stressful. Cause you can't plan ahead at all.

@@nicholascalvin2692 actually I'm wrong. I even searched this on internet and it is really difficult to see a pattern. What I knew was: if they put the king in front of each other is a draw and if they lay down the king horizontally or if they offer a handshake after stopping his own clock means resigning. But the thing is, Nepo did none of those, he put his king near Magnus's king but not in front of it, which also means resigning... so yeah, I was wrong, Magnus won cos Nepo resigned.

It’s crazy how these guys see the game lmao I’m trying to predict the moves as I’m watching then the guy shakes his hand as it’s over and I’m thinking how does he already know it’s over??? 😂 it’s really amazing the levels to it
This is sped up, freeze the screen and act like your the black pieces on his last move. He has no where to go, he will lose material no matter what he does. At that point, he knew he was out of his league.. lol he’s almost in check every move he makes.
The white queen and white bishop can basically setup a checkmate regardless of how black moves. But even still, there's a possibility that a second white queen, white bishop and a white rook overpower the black queen and black rook, leaving black without pieces to defend the king.

Introvert handshake where both people avoid eye contact and just want to grimace and do a "normal" gesture expected from them by the society to get it over with
hey this man has a smile even agter resigning, Nepo
I think this is a variable strategy. He’s not only calculating potential games. But giving the opponent confidence. False security from their clock. That way he can use their time against them. To pressure them into knowing that any time they waste calculating. Magnus is using too.
This dude looks like literal combination of Carlsen and hikaru
He takes 30 seconds because he’s calculating how to win from start to finish

2:00 :Nepo loses an abandoned pawn on c5, his queen side is weak, so Magnus gets two pawns on his queen side against one, that he managed to get a passed pawn fixing the black rook. It seems to me that Nepo was enable to manage his open row made by the Sicilian opening. Carlsen, in fact, refuted this opening quite easily, but I don't know exactly what Nepo missed to lose so quickly, I am a very weak chess player.
