MOST people buying new cars don't even know if they have LED's or not! Imagine a new Audi owner, "Well I noticed they're nice & bright, I didn't know they were different?" To some people, it matters. My pet peeve is car makers mixing old fashion incandescent (mostly turn signal) bulbs with LED panels. Or LED 3rd brake lights with incandescent rear brake lights. The signals don't synchronize with LED mirror repeaters, but do the owners notice? Most likely not. "It's a new car. Why would something be wrong with it?" Car manufacturers just LOVE these people!
I love how LED’s instantly turn on and off. Ordered a set of these with built in resistors. I really hope they work
Did they work?
@@KOVIDGOON Yup worked perfect. love them! super bright and no fault codes. although the ones i bought are designed a bit differently. car is a W203.
@@ademc8872 ok sure thing Thinking about getting them for my classic 84 caddy el dorado
Nice LED Bulbs
I bought this brand new Lime 2013 Boss Mustang. Over $40,000, Factory HID Headlights; full LED rear panel including signals & backup lights. Could Engineering bother to upgrade license plate lights to LED? Nope. They also didn't bother to include LED's in front amber turn signals. Instead, I got old fashioned slow-flashing incandescent bulbs. Yes, I upgraded all of them but why did FORD Engineering leave me with that task?
Could you do a video on how to install resistors?
+1
Hard to tell brightness level on cam/video. However, led outputs the light faster thus blinks quicker compared to halogen
I've been converting both my cars to these. I am wondering why I am doing this. I realize as I get older that nobody cares. Nobody cares.
I agree with you. I have friends that always ask why I'm constantly upgrading the lights on my car. They don't understand it. Why waste money on something that works as stock. Well, I change them out because I want to. I don't do it because of what other people thinks about them. I'm the one that is paying for my car and I'm the one that is driving my car. It's my money and time.
i find changing lights that can be on when the engine is not running to led can help a lot in not flattening you're battery. had this a few times on work vehicle's when left unlocked with doors or boot open
reduces load on the battery and alternator
+Timothy Z
but the resistors prevents load reduction, so it's basically for the looks.
If you get some good bulbs (The Sylvania Zevo ones are pretty decent) Having LED brake lights is supposed to be a safety advantage in that they light up several hundred milliseconds faster than incandescent bulbs. supposed to get drivers behind you to react faster
Your driver side is different than ours.lol. Good video. Been looking for LED brake/diection indicators & found in my own country. Yeahh!
1:15 also check other bulbs dont come on, some leds will work both ways but affect other bulbs if upside down
They would be delivered tomorrow. I'll see how bright they are!
How were they
I like the halogen bulbs cause it flashes slowly.
I had these but in switchbacks for the front and one of them blew in a couple of months also just buy the led flash relay for your car and you won't have to buy resistors for each bulb.
I had mine for over a year now and no problem still works perfect. You also can not change the flasher relay on newer vehicles. It is NOT accessible and can not be changed. it is controlled by the BCM.
damnn i love older cars so muchh without that shity canbus system and all that other electronic crap ! i just have to buy these leds and install it right away without any resistors :D
I've used the switchback led turn signals from JDMaster. The black paint burns off and turns to a copper look
My front headlights are 7443 DRL/Turn signal. I seen some like those in 7443 they should work in my headlight correct?
I have a question! I'm thinking of doing this to my car as the side indicators are leds. If you buy cambus error leds, do you still need resistors?
nah you won’t need resistors if you have canbus
Hi can I install Led signal light only at the back of the car, and stock bulb in front of the car? Is there any side effect?
Yes, you can do that. You will get hyperflashing anytime change any turn signal bulb to led.
OK, so, quick question.. if i do both front and rear flashers.. thats 4 bulbs.. do i need 4 resistors?
What car do you have: year make model and trim.
DIY: Car Modz a 08 G37
Most likely unless you get lasfits $60 turn signal bulbs with built-in resistors.
If you buy turn signals from two different companies does it matter cause idk if they’re gonna blink Simultaneously
As long as the bulb design is the same. It doesn't matter on the company. It will blink the same. Again the bulb has to look exactly the same.
great video! just got these in the mail.
Hey Cornel, What have you been up to? Do you still have your CG? I miss my CG !!!
Would you say it's alright to use without the resistor? The lights just blink faster than normal, but no harm done to the vehicle right?
Never tried running without a resistor or led flasher unit long enough to find out if it causes any electrical problem to the vehicle or if it reduces the life of the led bulb.
Does hyper flashing affect the vehicle ? Or is it just an annoying fast flash?
For newer vehicle, the flash rate is controlled by the BCM. Will it the hyperflashing damage the unit? I do not know but I would just fix the hyperflashing issue then later having to replace the BCM which cost hundreds of dollars.
Thanks for the video, extremely informative. Would recommend the JDM Astar bulbs over Diode Dynamics bulbs?
I recently put the JDM Astar led reverse lights in my 13 Accord coupe and am very happy with their quality. they seem to be well built, ship quickly, and look great.
+JQJ213 did you need to install a resistor forum blinkers?

this is what I used and its been working fine. you will need some sort of resistor setup because otherwise you will have the hyper blink.
Yes you need resistors for any turn signal bulb swap to LED. ua-cam.com/video/MwMEsRgsL5A/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/HQKH96Rs0v8/v-deo.html
I have not tried Diode Dynamics so I can't say which one would be better. I have jdmastar installed on my personal vehicles and have no issues.
What bulbs should I get for my 2015 civic LX head lights cause I can't see nothing and want something brights
If you want LED headlights then get these: amzn.to/2guZtG8
I have a 2017 civic sedan. What kind do I need to make mine also amber turn signals.
Wonder if those bulbs come in red and white and in other sizes.
How long have you had these bulbs in are they still working with no issues...
I'm using their switchback led and it has been about a year.. no problem.
Hey, could you show the resistor in more detail, specifically how it's attached to the vehicle?
Thanks

+DIY: Car Modz Wow, don't know how I missed that video. Are they still available for purchase from you?
Yes, please email me @ diycarmodify@gmail.com for complete info.
For the Elantra GT 2016 , I ordered switchback front signals and got the plug in play resistors . I'm trying to figure out how to install them as the bulb is in a twist out holder with no wires connected to it . Any ideas ?
www.hyundai-forums.com/md-2011-2016-elantra-sedan-coupe/174386-front-turn-signal-led-resistors.html
DIY: Car Modz I got Resistors and now the switchback front signals work perfectly . I made a mistake with the plug & play resistors they were for 1157 not 1156 . I got the 1156 version for the rear and the 3030 SMD Amber LEDs .
Good video, thank you
I switched from stock lights to LED. do I need 2 resistor or do I need 4? thanks!
You need 2 .. 1 for each.
How can you even tell how bright LEDs are when searching for them on Ebay etc?
They all advertised as 'extremely bright' and have many leds on all sides but really weak and not bright at all.
do you need resistors for the tail lights/brake lights or only anything flashing like turn lights?
For this accord.. just for turns.
DIY: Car Modz thanks!
Is there any side affects,if I use this bulbs?
Nothing. Only thing you have to be careful is the type of resistor you use and where you mount the resistor. ua-cam.com/video/I6SAhMHbrEA/v-deo.html
do you guys not realize that this will work for anything that the bulb fits into?
Hello there how many resistor is need it for the two bulb and how to order it or they comes together with the led. Thank you
email me: diycarmodify@gmail.com
DIY: Car Modz good morning sir,, please i realy like your video and how those light looks I did a research on amazon but I couldn’t get to the right thing and also I wanna know if the Harper mode blinking it doesn’t bother or harm anything in the electric sistem of the car and please drive straight on how to order the resistor on amazon or other sources please I saw something like relay flashing on amazon I don’t know if those are the ones but they looks squares likes
year make model and trim of your vehicle?
DIY: Car Modz oh I’m sorry sir,, my vehicle is a 2010 Mazda CX-9 sport trim AWD
will these work for front turn signals on 15 accord coupe?
X-MAN Xiong yes these will work on CK type sockets.
any reason why you don't have a brake light review of jdm
No particular reason, I had the philips led already installed. They are just like OEM brightness. amzn.to/2cJGQw4

Canbus ready?
How to install resistors??
Where can I find the resistors for Honda accord 2016?
ua-cam.com/video/HQKH96Rs0v8/v-deo.html email me @ diycarmodify@gmail.com for more info.
Where did you mount the resistors in the rear?
I have mine mounted away from any plastic, wires, carpet. it is attached tot eh a metal beam.
Where can I buy those resistors ?
Please email with your year make model and trim. These are only available for limited import vehicle models. No euro, american brands. diycarmodify@gmail.com
I lol'd at the end
and where do I get the resistors?
winword1 I got mines on Amazon
What is the point of replacing the bulbs to LED if you need to add resistors to overcome the hyperflashing and canbus errors?! That is basically making the LED as energy wasteful as the incandescent... You save energy in bulb, but waste it just behind the lamp...
Because that's the only way2 make it work properly AND give U the look.
Actually you don't need the resistors, there is a much easier way, just get a LED Flasher Relay, I did that to my Expedition and it's been working fine for years and I'm about to do it to my other car
why need to install resistor?
2:17
now i understand.
why doesn't my l.e.ds work for my front signals I dnt have resistors.. But but nothing comes on. Not even hyper flash. can someone help
What car do you have and which bulbs did you purchase?
make sure they're in all the way. otherwise flip them around the other way. if nothing, you got bad bulbs
or test it with a 12v powersuply
how many lumens is this led bulb?
rated at raw lumen of 800 per bulb.
DIY: Car Modz thank you Jeff,800 lumens is plenty of light
At only 800 lummins, they are barely brighter than oe lights.
NOT worth it as far as I'm concerned.
How YOU know that 800 LM are not brighter than the stock bulbs?
I gotta question
Does it work for the front turn signals?
It can. You just need to pick the correct led base base that is compatible with your vehicle.
why did you put switchbacks on your tail lights
How are they switchbacks? These are amber led. They don't blink white amber. Just amber.
DIY: Car Modz ooohhh ok ok they look like switch backs 👍
how to wire the resistor
ua-cam.com/video/AJVS6sEE54c/v-deo.html
As long as resistors are required, no way will I do it!
They make amber LED's with built in resistors, plug'n play. Check your bulb type & Amazon. You can do either the front or rear two. If U want all four, you'll need inline resistors for the other ones. This supposedly makes the job half better.
those arent halogen, duh. incandescent!
They are halogen. Incandescent isn’t for car. Mordor home lighting
Why does it matter if it hyper flashes?
I don't know. I never ran it without a led relay or load resistor. Other than the fast blinking becoming annoying, the fast blinking probably is not good for the led bulb itself. It probably shorten the life span of the led bulb. Possible the flasher relay as well. Since the flasher relay is integrated to the MICU. If that relay goes bad,, you have to swap in a whole new MICU assembly.
Hyperflashing is a trouble indicator. It also gets the attention of Cops because they think U have some bulbs out. You don't need the hassle, plus it looks like something's wrong with your car.
