don't ask me how i never listened to the misfits until three days ago, but every second of this song was emblazoned into my brain the first time i heard it. the best part is that i'm not yet mad that it's been stuck in my head from the moment i wake up until the moment i fall asleep for those three straight days.

1981 Washington DC all ages punk rock band show at the original legendary 9:30 luv on Fst. Misfits we’re headling and Glen Danzig’s vocals and ODoyle beaten those strings , turned my whole life into something amazing and introduced me to a scene and a culture that I’m proud to be a part of today … I finally met Danzig at Richie Colosseum in MD along with Chuck Biscuits and John Christ 🤘that was way back in 1991 and then when J was an adult I finally worked a Danzig show at tje Warfield in SF 🤘😎🏁 HeLL yeah !!

I know people still watch this all the time, so I’ll say this: I have this video to thank for making me want to learn swing dancing, I first saw it in 2012 when I was 14. I went on to learn east coast (this kind, 50s style) and west coast swing and was able to do some of these aerials in a club in college. It’s been a wonderful part of my life since 2015 and now that I’m 26 and miss dancing socially, I always enjoy coming back to watch the video that started it all 🖤 and if you’ve thought about it, this is your sign to find classes and learn to swing dance! (west coast can be even more fun imo)

the ramones and the misfits were the two best punk bands to have existed. sex pistols were influential but not great and the clash were more than a punk band.

    • @robertsagan9722
      @robertsagan9722 8 років тому +68

      Couldn't have said it better.
The Pistols were a one hit wonder basically, The Great R'n'r swindle was bollocks without Rotten but it had some good songs because of Paul Cook, Jonesy and the one and only Edward Tudor-Pole.
We can just imagine what if the Pistols stayed together, what if Glenn didn't listen to the Beatles so he would't be replaced by Simon Ferocious and if the greedy bastard McLaren didn't commercialize everything they did they would've been alongside the Ramones.
The Clash are, as you say, more than a punk band.
They're not called the only band that matters for no reason, they mixed punk with reggae and other musical (forgot the word sorry).
But after Jones left they were fine but not that good anymore.
      God I love punk

I know that you guys probably know this, but I didn't until James Hetfield explained that the very controversial lyrics are about MOTHER EARTH, & not to just a song meant to shock listeners and cause parents to have heart attacks!
Actually a very deep song and it was very surprising to hear James Hetfield explain that he wished everyone would really listen to song lyrics.
Too many of us only hear the words at their basic meaning and the real message the artists /writers intended to get across.
A perfect example of a songs meaning being totally misunderstood is ' EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE' by THE POLICE.
Sting wrote this song to describe what it feels like to be a victim of STALKING because he had been Stalked by an extremely obsessed/mentally ill fan.
What's crazy is that Sting still gets thanked for the song being
"OUR SONG" by couples who believe it to be a love song, and is still to this day played as the 1st dance at weddings!!
I always knew even though it is beautiful it is a very dark song, and I knew it was creepy even before my young mind knew what stalking was.
    Like The Stones
    'Under My Thumb'!
That's the beauty of music though it has a different meaning to everyone, and the meanings even change throughout our experiences in life.

One of my all time favorite UA-cam Videos the timing is on point with the song. Been listening to Misfits and other punk rock since the 80’s and the music still gets me moving around. My Punk playlist is how I clean my house. 🤘🏼🖤 Sweet Lovely Death… One Last Caress!! It’s such a catchy tune. 🤘🏼😜

at first I was a little bummed that the version with this video was all I could find as far as the actual song goes, but now I kinda dig it actually...it goes really well with the song and I have to say I really wish people still danced like that. Immagine entire mosh pits like this...

I love the misfits, but for some reason the new age uses their logo as fashion, when they dont actually like the band itself, same thing with nirvana, and a little bid of led zeppelin

When I was a high school misfit in the eighties listening to the misfits, I could never have envisioned something like this. Thanks very much for your efforts!

A couple of months ago Introduced my girlfriend to The Misfits. She didn’t like them at first, she said they were a bit too dark and gothy for her. I said don’t be ridiculous, they’re a punk band. So I put on last caress, and she loved it. Every time it’s been on since, she’s bopped along. "See I like this, this isn’t dark" Today I showed her the lyrics...
