1981 Washington DC all ages punk rock band show at the original legendary 9:30 luv on Fst. Misfits we’re headling and Glen Danzig’s vocals and ODoyle beaten those strings , turned my whole life into something amazing and introduced me to a scene and a culture that I’m proud to be a part of today … I finally met Danzig at Richie Colosseum in MD along with Chuck Biscuits and John Christ 🤘that was way back in 1991 and then when J was an adult I finally worked a Danzig show at tje Warfield in SF 🤘😎🏁 HeLL yeah !!
I must've watched this thirty times in the past couple months. I can't get over how perfect this is. It looks like they were actually dancing to this song, haha. Oh, if those teens only knew what their dancing would eventually be used for. They're probably all eighty years old now. "The lyrics say WHAT???"
I remember the very first time I ever heard this song, I had just bought this misfits cd 💿 and I put it on my radio and I went outside to smoke, when this song came on and I heard what Danzig was saying I was blown away and I absolutely loved it, I love Danzig’s lyrics and I love his singing
Holy shit these guys sure are rocking out!! just tickles me that it has such sick lyrics but everyone's smiling and going crazy...some how it fits perfectly, this cheers me up, awesome..nice one!
A killer musical backdrop can transform even the most grotesque lyrics. Another prime example is the 50s/60s "He Hit Me and it Felt Like a Kiss" by the Crystals... even though there was public outcry over the lyrics, it is hauntingly beautiful.
I hold it together until right at the end when the dancers are in slow motion, but then go right back to full speed. For whatever reason I crack up every time. Respect, bro. This is a masterpiece.
The point of The Misfits. Those classic, happy, conventions of just energetic rock music. Then add in the dark brutal lyrics and styling of Danzig and his successor. It's true beauty, my friends.
36 yr old here - I first heard of them in college 2003. Still Lovin this today as I’m a corporate stiff providing for my family . I had a kickass roomie. We smoked pot, drank beer and looked for skulls. Athens, ohio
I know people still watch this all the time, so I’ll say this: I have this video to thank for making me want to learn swing dancing, I first saw it in 2012 when I was 14. I went on to learn east coast (this kind, 50s style) and west coast swing and was able to do some of these aerials in a club in college. It’s been a wonderful part of my life since 2015 and now that I’m 26 and miss dancing socially, I always enjoy coming back to watch the video that started it all 🖤 and if you’ve thought about it, this is your sign to find classes and learn to swing dance! (west coast can be even more fun imo)
Come to watch this video every once in a while (after a few drinks), and I'm always reminded of a textbook perfect pairing of THAT footage with THAT song. Meant to be.
The way they dance is so energetic and they keep doing trick after trick. I don't know if it seems lazy to some people, it definitely is not. Great job!
This video made me really happy, just imagining they were actually dancing to Last Caress. That would be one hell of a dance to be at it, 50's style and dancing, all to the sounds of The Misfits.
Been a fan since mid-90s. I would play fast music on my way to the racing stables and sing this top volume with a little weed and the horses would feel every vibe. Paired with this visual, I can see what inspired the tempo. Hats off to the Misfits!
the ramones and the misfits were the two best punk bands to have existed. sex pistols were influential but not great and the clash were more than a punk band.
Couldn't have said it better. The Pistols were a one hit wonder basically, The Great R'n'r swindle was bollocks without Rotten but it had some good songs because of Paul Cook, Jonesy and the one and only Edward Tudor-Pole. We can just imagine what if the Pistols stayed together, what if Glenn didn't listen to the Beatles so he would't be replaced by Simon Ferocious and if the greedy bastard McLaren didn't commercialize everything they did they would've been alongside the Ramones. The Clash are, as you say, more than a punk band. They're not called the only band that matters for no reason, they mixed punk with reggae and other musical (forgot the word sorry). But after Jones left they were fine but not that good anymore. God I love punk

The dancing fits surprisingly well with the song
BranFlakes oh fuck I know you from television
Its even more than that....the dancing is fucking intense, more so than it could ever be now.
It's intensely physical that's for sure. These days everyone would probably have to wear a helmet.
that's rigth.
Its especially created for this song.
Props to the genius who put this together.
I miss the old days when songs embraced wholesome family values...like this!

"... I love how Danzig sounds like a drunk Elvis..." pure magic!
Pablo Lobo that's what I love about esrly Misfits. Their like an undead version of early rock and roll!
True hahahha

same puppet master, different puppet.

One thing I love about the misfits/danzig is it always sounds it was straight up recording from a garage and I just love that grainy sound.

That's why kiss destroyer was their best album it sounds like it was recorded in a dirty basement.
Glenn is the man. Still a fan of Graves but nothing like Danzig misfits.
One of the all time greatest songs. Misfits forever
So *THAT'S* how you dance to Misfits.

Let's admit it. The swing/jitterbug scene of the 50s was every bit as energetic and exciting as punk in its heyday. (I love them both.)
