Super Cyclone Dust Extractor

This past month I worked to re-invent a shop vacuum attachment called a Super Cyclone Dust Extractor. This Cyclone Extractor, called by many as a ‘first stage’ is designed to catch all the sawdust and wood shavings before it enters your shop vacuum and clogs the air filter, thus making your system much more efficient. Many people have made these ‘first stage’ cyclone extractors, however, I made several system improvements that make it more efficient and easier to use!
After watching over 30 different Cyclone Extractor assemblies on UA-cam, and analyzing how they were constructed and used, I made multiple enhancements. I increased the bucket to 20 gallon; lighted the bucket for ease of seeing how full it is; fixed the bucket lid allowing the bucket to be lowered to empty; cut the shop vac motor and impeller out of my shop vacuum to make it smaller; and placed the shop vac filter inside a clear acrylic cylinder to allow you to see how dirty it is! All these changes make the overall system much more efficient and easier to use!
