Wooow there are a lot things I took for granted...
Good interview Tatenda. Well done.
🔥🔥🔥 great episode. Keep up the momentum. Lots of little nuggets shared by Mwana Akarerwa naGogo.
Funerals sometimes bring unresolved conflicts to the forefront. Family disputes, rivalries, or long-standing grudges may surface during the emotional atmosphere of a funeral. People may seek closure or resolution. Remember that each African culture has unique funeral practices, but the emotional intensity is a common thread.
In Shona culture, marriage is seen as a way to build relationships, and rusambo plays a significant role in this process.
Not really, we are yet to know the impact of rusambo, it's only 3 generations old. My grandma Havana kubvisirwa rusambo, it was actually imposed by the oppressor.
Ehh bro South African here🇿🇦 can you please add sub titles when you speak your mother tongue.
Great content.
Lovely to see our African brothers listening in
her face around 32:32 is priceless! :DDDD
Enjoyed the camaraderie between the moderator nemwana akarerwa nagogo. Very informative. Put simply, kudyisa munhu kuroya- you are now that person’s god, they jump to your tune, instead of GOD. Profiting of kun’anga, through charging USD is also unAfrican. Would have loved to get her perspectives around the relevance of dreams in African culture, divorce in the days of anagogo and these days, and whether Tatenda anosvikirwa nagogo vake here😂. That aside, very informative episode, thank you, you have gained a subscriber. Thanks again.
You are right

man, how do you say fairly beautiful...
Yeah that didn't sound right. Just say you're beautiful or just don't say it.
concerning Man being taught of marriage.. thanks to the interviewer for explaining that.. we wouldn't need to prioritize learning wat to do in marriage, rather we are taught how to provide for the wife and kids, women take care of the house/home hence so much preparations..if u understand the old duty distribution hunting and gathering
roora is a contract guys, no matter how much we sugar coat it for our westernized palates, it is what is. Thats why each beast and line item stands for certain obligations that parties to theis 'contract' are supposed to meet.
what i know about guvhu is there needs to be transparency so that there is continuity, for example mhuri yekwa Mhofu do certain rites neguvhu, so vamwene has to pass on that tradition to the mroora to safeguard the tradition
Panyaya yeguvhu, lets go ne present time, zimbabwe had a compain ye circumcision few years ago, saka those pieces zvaka disposer safely here? no wonder tave ne too much stories of spiritual husbands. Tuma foreskin twenyu
Chitunha chemutorwa , chitunha chitunha baba kana afa hatisi kuita ma funnies.
Wait she is unmarried?
ATR is hugely undefined but people love to defend it. There is no documentation of its principles and teachings and rituals. People who defend it can only name all of 3 ceremonies at most. It has no founding members. No originating story. Nothing at all.
its written in nature itself.no scripts
Maybe cause it was pasted down to us through oral history
Its written on the walls from Cape to Cairo and is passed down from generation to generation
No one who practices it and indigenous to Africa has ever called it ATR it's a nature based system based on è laws of nature simple
