MOST cameras from 2012 and forward are good enough in 2025, as long as you use quality glass and know how to shoot (yes, an argument can be made for a silent shutter in church or high-resolution pix for studio/product photography, but that's pretty much it). I still use my 1DX MK1 as my daily driver. As long as video is not needed, this DSLR is more than capable of most things.
My R6 didn't turn back on at the last wedding after doing the couple portraits in the pouring rain, and had to shoot ceremony on 1 body. BUT a couple days in a bag with silica gel bags and shes back ! SO that has GOT to say something about the camera ! haha
Currently shooting a 5d III alongside a 6D…. R6 still feels out of range but really want to do photo/video hybrid and to be able to shoot low light indoor ceremony/reception… I’m here wondering whether I could somehow get by with RP or R8…
I’m not Taylor, 😂 but I use the R7 as my second camera for weddings and it’s great. The auto focus tracking js solid and the sensor is really nice. I also like being able to turn my 50 1.2 into an 80 1.9 by putting it on the R7. Also battery life is amazing.
Still using the original R6, and still loving it. Mostly adapting Canon EF L glass and it works great!

Honestly, best opening. Just spins. "R6 is this good *spins*"
Why not and still capable
And I still have canon 5D m3 and still look really great..
This. I use the original R6, 6D, and 5d and they’re all solid.
Agreed!
@@brianode11 The original 6D has some focus issues compared to the actual mirrorless. But the image quality is still good.

I bet there are photographers rocking a Nikon D3S at weddings somewhere. R6 is space age compared to that.
Colours on the d3s still superior to anything out today haha
R8 ftw xD

Can you share your autofocus settings on r6 for weddings?
I just use all points and touch to manually override if needed
23:59 what?! How did you do that trick?😂 different suit and background! 😂😂😂
Magic. 🪄
Hey Taylor, and what about the R7, is still good for weddings? I don't think I can afford the R6 for 2025.
