My husband saw this reel and so, of course he had to show me. And we laughed, then we were scrolling through Netflix and we'd seen Loudermilk a ton, but it did not spark our interest, but then we put two and two together and figured this scene was from it, so we started watching and weve loved it! 😂 I can't even love this scene enough...this is what I feel like doing to them as well...and also the ones who end every word with an ah at the end...like o my goshaaaaah.
Oh thank goodness, I thought only we Brits felt the Valley Girl accent was an affectation. Come on USA, you have a great, and gentle accent, that we like to hear, please end this back-of-the-throat (maybe that's the reason for it) talking fashion, it's gone on too long ;-)
The Valley Girl think is more characterized by upspeak and originated in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles area) about 45 years ago and, unfortunately, spread. The vocal fry, I believe, is something that originated in the upper east side of Manhattan and, unfortunately spread.
@@markbates7358 well nothing like starting out the day with being rude you strangers. You might not like British dialects but this vocal fry thing is pretentious and annoying. So most of America is with the Brits on this one.
It's funny I was going to say English people often have an affected accent. Then then I saw this thread mentions British accents ~ language morphs. It always does. Get over it. Grow up.
Just finished watching this show on Netflix. I was pleasantly surprised. Super well made, except it's supposed to be filmed here in Seattle, but clearly it looks like somewhere else except for the long shots.
My absolute favorite opening moment
I am so much him...😂😂😂

@@madeinussr7551That's Ron Livingston, and the show is Loudermilk.
When confronted with this attitude/affectation, I repeatedly ask them not so smart questions. Their response is often hilarious.
reminds me of that Paul Rudd scene in "Role Models" kind of
I’ve quit listening to many channels becaus of that voice
Most Democrat women use the voice.

Filmed in Vancouver and area
What about people who speak with every sentence sounding like a question.
Australianssss????
Haha. No, I was thinking of Americans maybe Millennials or Gen Zers.
Kiwis do this ALL the time?
That is upspeak.
It's referred to as up talk and it's almost as annoying as vocal fry imo
What season and episode is this?
Season 2 Episode 1. "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey"
Movie?
What's the name of the movie
Nobody learns and people will only turn against you
Somebody knows which episode this is?
1st episode of season 2, opening scene.😂
Does anyone know the name or IG of this staff? Thanks.
Is that the “it’s an affectation” guy?
This is part of the reason why the Gina character from Brooklyn 9-9 often annoyed me.
Сегодня в Чикаго в кофейне была такая же девушка на кассе 😂😂😂 я еле сдержался что бы не засмеяться
😂😂😂

Zombie voice
Any of this vocal fry stuff is such a turn off...
Made me quit listening to most podcasts.
