- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish upset #10 Kentucky, 66-62 in men’s college basketball play. Blake Wesley hit a jumper with 13 seconds remaining to put the Irish up 2 points. After a missed shot by Kentucky with 5 seconds to go, Notre Dame’s Paul Atkinson Jr. pulled down a defensive rebound to seal the victory. Blake Wesley and Dane Goodwin led the Irish with 14 points each. Trey Wertz added 12 points and Paul Atkinson Jr. pitched in 10 points and 6 rebounds in the win.
Irish needed that one badly. Finally played some good d and excellent team offense. Let's see if they can build on this.

After watching this game, I came to one conclusion; Calipari must recruit 5 star Jeff's and Joe's......cause he ain't gonna beat you with X's and O's! He showed nothing from a coaching standpoint.....particularly as KU was more talented than The Fighting Irish!

Well. This is the result that happens when Kentucky decides to shoot nothing but beyond the arc and barely make any of them in. Props to the Irish for the defense of not letting Tshiebwe get it on the inside or else the result would’ve been different. Sorry for tooting my own horn but regardless of however UK’s season this year, Tshiebwe is going to be good in the NBA. Good job again Irish and best of luck to your future games.

Huge Wildcat fan reading some wows, rightly so now but Ky is just in the process of building their confidence, learning how to play and learn each other as a team bcuz this team didn't shoot well and lastly we respect the heck out of Notre Dame bcuz since the Cal days, Notre Dame plays us tough, example, the all but one game perfect season when we had Karl Towns, he had to completely beat Notre Dame by himself bcuz ND would not double the paint that's fact, check out 24 points and 11rebounds KAT got in the 2nd half. I hated we lost I was hoping we were at least far along to beat them but they played good we didn't and they won a significant game. Finally, watch out Ohio State, we're gonna whoop that ace 😂 I love college basketball I hate it's getting a little stronger this year next to the NFl, my two fav sports to watch bcuz these kids go at it I don't care who's playing who they both come with their best A game. ✌️💙

Washington has hurt Kentucky in two big games now. Against Duke he was horrible and this last game, he wanted to be a hero at the end. His teammates seemed upset with him at the end.
I was very pissed when he did that I mean come on he had 11 seconds on the clock he didn't even had a Open path to make a play if I was his teammates I would be upset too bc that was just pure immaturity on that very selfish if it would of been 4 seconds or less I would understand but 11 seconds that is just ridiculous!
Ky is still overrated and I’m a Kentucky fan....calipari gets a top ten recruiting class every year but doesn’t know what to do with them....I honestly like the 3 star recruits who play for a program 3-4 years instead of the one and done players. As you can see u can have all five star recruits and still underperform and get beat by anyone regardless of the opponents so called stars. Good win for Norte dame! They wanted it more down the stretch and coach Cal was out coached once again

3 point shooting was non-existent and it’s been like that the whole year thus far.....where are the shooters we were supposed to have??? No consistency means more losses especially in conference play....KY is no longer top dog in the SEC
@@jameshanks5400 yea maybe not as dominant as we're sooo used to being, but I still think this team will get better. Cal needs to play Damon Collins and Bryce Hopkins more. We are definitely better than we were last year, we just need to make shots. We have the nations leading rebounder and assists leader. We should be fine come mid season. We may lose a few but by the time the tournament starts we should be hard to beat. If cal does his job as a coach
@@Wetrockstah2116 we’ve not been dominant in several years. The problem is Cal would rather teach psychology than X’s and O’s and he tries to change what his players do best! Having said that there’s no excuse for 2-19 from the three! When Pitino was here he would make guys shoot 100 three’s after a long practice and that’s something Cal should think about trying…

Kentucky is afraid to bang inside. Tswebwae is the only player we got. Every player we got besides him are just standing watching the paint dry. Unless he gets these guys to take the ball to the basket expect the same results as last year.aThese guys aren’t that good at all, look about the same as last year. Mid major schools play these guys tuff, imagine what the sec is going to do to them.
We don’t have any bucket getters this year. I might be wrong though I can see Bryce being the best player on this team if only he would get playing time.

Everyone gets a participation trophy produces this mindset that it’s perfectly normal behavior to storm the court in December for a win you should expect if you are major 1A program.
I get what you're saying but I mean if you think back to 2015 when notre Dame had its huge loss to Kentucky in the elite 8, this is almost a huge win for them to kinda put that game behind.
Yea, it's not like it was their first top 10 win in almost 4 years and had been struggling to this point in the season, but sure, it's the participation trophies that made them storm the floor.

Because we are last in the confrence and we beat a top 10 team in the country. Also there is some history between the two teams for the las decade or so. That is a pretty good reason to storm the court in my opinion.

It's been about 4 years since ND has had a signature win like this. That's why they stormed.
This is truth to it can be anyone's night or weekend at any given time! Unfortunately, I can't defend either team for a successful game because both teams played like shit in my opinion and calls were made on both teams that should've been called and wasn't.. having said this as a uk fan, I'd like to congratulate the Irish for this aka "signature win" or as someone labeled " Lombardi " lol! You all deserve the W and we definitely deserve the L but we don't deserve to have that #10 RANK yet nor do I look for this uk team to beat Ohio or Kansas so again congrats to you all, enjoy the evening and Goodluck until March!
