I add jumping jacks into my calisthenic push pull squat drop sets. It just felt like the right thing to do... And i added 5 pushups and 5 squats / jump squats, into my 10 KB swings EMOM. So every minute 10 swings, 5 push, 5 squat. 10 minutes. I usually get them done in 40 seconds so 20 seconds rest and go next round. I physically feel the workout was better by adding the jumping jacks to the drop set and adding the push squat to my KB 10 minute 10 swings emom... After a 20 minute shadow boxing session where i do squats between rounds, i added push pull isometrics and I physically feel more complete.

Comment was, you pick the weight, 300 curls, go. So i grabbed a can of beans 420 grams. Left arm roughly 2 seconds up and 2 down. 300 and i did feel it. Right arm i said. Hey why not pump them out fast. By 60 i was thinking, hmm, fast is not ideal if the goal is 300 reps. By 80 i was like yep no way will i make 300 at this rate, and my arm was shot somewhere between 100 and 200 doing them fast, while holding a can of baked beans. Did it while watching TV. Interesting experiment.

@@rikkinetic yeah, cause then i started looking around the house. Oh look a 500gram can of soup, a 1 litre water bottle will be 1 kilo, that 2L bottle will be 2 kilos. What if i do low weight straight arm for biceps? Sure, i have the improvised low weights, lets go. So yeah, doing it made me look at alternatives and variations i wouldn't have noticed. At least for biceps, shoulders kind of thing. Oh and forearms, cause even though the weight is light, you have to grip it for the duration so there is some yielding isometrics, not massive but not nothing and in a way it kinda becomes annoying that you need to grip this light thing. And i also thought, great for people who maybe dont have money for light weight dumbbells, or do but don't want to buy them for fear of outgrowing them too soon. No need for a gym. Just start with the pantry and progress as needed... Like i said to one co worker who was really unfit and asked me about getting into shape, forget pushups or planks or whatever right now, just start by laying on the floor and then getting yourself back up, even if you need help from the armrest on your sofa. Do that a dozen times and see how you feel and then we can chat some more. Cause i watched a lady get on one knee to look for her cat under something outside, and she couldn't get back up. She had her phone and called her housemate to come out and help her get back up. And even then it was a struggle... Some people don't want to be seen doing physical activity so a gym or even park are right out. So the little things can help them begin their journey. And doing the can-thing just opened my eyes to how much a person can do to begin their journey starting where they are with what they have weight-wise specially when even calisthenics is a struggle. They could so some own pace shadow boxing and some pantry weight as a starting point. No excuses.

There’s always a way you sometimes just have to look harder to find it!

@@rikkinetic 😮 i always say this!... There is always a way... To do the thing or solve the problem or whatever. It might not be a well known path, you have to put your thinking cap on to find it, but it is there... Or if one method doesn't work or an option is not there or whatever then, There is always Another way!
