Oh, how I miss the DON'T MOVE mechanic. The game forcing you, the player, to *literally* not move a muscle was a stroke of pure genius-especially given the context later. They've tried to replicate it with the "press the button in the rhythm of the heartbeat" thing and more recently with the "hold the button for a set time" thing, but none of them are nearly as intense OR immersive, because they're ridiculously simple. This ingenius mechanic alone elevates Until Dawn far above its successors, imo.
Same! Although I couldn't participate in my playthrough due to shaky hands - I would just have to pause and set the controller on a flat surface, lol. But I still really like the idea! And it's funny to see others panic and hold their breaths, hehe
I was actually so upset they got rid of the dont move mechanic I loved it!! It made it so fucking scary and real but this hold the button doesnt hit the same

When they started introducing their games to other platforms, they had to find a different mechanic to replace that because it's not possible to do. I agree that don't move was the best mechanic, but they didn't just get rid of it because they wanted to, they literally had to.

I think I at least watch 2-4 playthroughs from different creators each year since release 😭😭 cause ppl are still picking up the game later like julien, so I know exactly the plot AND the dialogue

If you haven't seen it already, try Gab Smolder's various playthroughs of Until Dawn. She loves Jess' humor and she's done save-all, kill-all-in-the-worst-ways, get-every-clue-and-totem, etc runs. She's also the only streamer I've seen who got Jess down to her undies in the cabin with Mike by choosing all the right options - it made all the later scenes even worse! She's very chill and likes to discuss the story & meaning of the game while she plays.

i know this came isnt part of the dark anthology series like the quarry and others, but for their second season in the series I'd like a came where one or two characters from each game including Until dawn, and they all realized they each have a connection get suspicious that was one of the reasons they were brought to the area and find out it's another night of survival from what ever menace they have to face next. only this time it's like a game they have to play in order to get out. super excited for the season 2 series but still wish they'd do some with returned characters it be nice to see how some characters are doing and how they're progressing and what they can bring to the table when trying to survive the new ordeal.
Very genuinely believe both Julien and Jenna are the two most sweetest people to exist in this planet. So authentically inclusive and kind. I love them both to bits.

Until dawn definitely had more of a lore creepy factor and jump scares, but already it doesn’t show someone getting shot in the face.

i know this came isnt part of the dark anthology series like the quarry and others, but for their second season in the series I'd like a came where one or two characters from each game including Until dawn, and they all realized they each have a connection get suspicious that was one of the reasons they were brought to the area and find out it's another night of survival from what ever menace they have to face next. only this time it's like a game they have to play in order to get out. super excited for the season 2 series but still wish they'd do some with returned characters it be nice to see how some characters are doing and how they're progressing and what they can bring to the table when trying to survive the new ordeal.

I was in grade 7 when until dawn was first released and oh my did I watch so many playthroughs, I had all the time in the world and now I'm going into my second year of university feeling all nastolgic.
