- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2006 Chevrolet SSR. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this retro styled truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Release this car in 2012, make it a few thousand bucks cheaper, maybe some more newer technology, and you've got a winner. Growing up, this was my absolute favorite car.
The car/truck thingy actually has an convertible WOW that's nice, never expected that. This was a really unique car.

I hope in a few years when my kids are older and my wife is done with school, I can find one of these, with the LS2 and 6spd manual. I'd put a Procharger on it and a loud exhaust and drive it all the time when it's warm outside.

Moonster I'd rather have an old El Camino, but I like these too. I don't know why people didn't like this car, I mean yeah it was heavy and expensive but I like the way it looks and with the LS2 and the 6spd, it was pretty quick, plus you could use it like a truck if you want.
The Automatic transmission is so much better than the 6 Speed Manual
The SSR was never meant to be a big production car, it was to get attention and bring people into the showroom, which is exactly what it did. The second Gen (shown here 05-06) was a lot better than the first Gen (2003-04). The SSR will blow the doors off most cars on the road today with that 6.0 V8.

Its a shame that the Chevy SSR never went far in production, but damn for a 2 seater truck, its a beautiful unique vehicle, I would defiantly own one, oh and by the way SaabKyle04 great videos man.

Those trucks are really different from anything i've ever seen, it has so many different aspects from different cars all blended togethour, really cool though. :)
A very nice coupé pickup truck, it’s cheaper than any truck. I can wait for the SSR to bring back in production by the end of 21st century

At 08:06 . The box thingy that he pushes out can be replaced with a cupholder. There's one on either side.
thats a rare truck or whatever you call it, there where not many produced only limlited number of these truck. i love the sound of the exhaust its sweet.

It shouldve came in a completely straight body (i.e. without the body kit) with a hard top, bench seat, and no bed cover and called it the el camino. Wouldve sold a shit ton of them.

I wish the Chevy SSR make a comeback with a new name like SST without roadster make true truck.
A shame they didn't do a fixed roof version.
It would have lightened and stiffened the vehicle.
Would have been a nice truck with the 6.0 if they had done it that way.
Chevy needs to bring back the el camino. I think this was used to test the waters early before they brig it back in 2015. The ssr was just too expensive.

somehow i agree with people saying it looks cheap. lol maybe its the branding? i dunno. when i sit in a couple of fords... they feel more expensive than any chrysler or gm product... thats for sure. i mean it kinda looks nice but the interior definately doesnt look better than a mazda 3's. even the leather seats look kinda cheap..... cheap like kia. whats with them making the dials and the shifter look like its real metal, when its just metal coating. might as well have some nice looking plastic

My neighbors down the road had one of these for about a month. I guess they realized how ugly it was and sold it.

This car has grown on me. I have always thought the front of this car is very well designed, but the back is really ugly. And the profile is not so attractive. However, when they stopped making them, back in 2006 i said. Wow if i could buy one. Still. To this day, it would make an awesome car because not many people have it.

Completely false. This nor the El Camino are coming back. What Chevy is planning to release, is a performance sedan (Chevy SS) to compete with cars like the Dodge Charger.
