    Also, if you get a duck, KEEP THEM FOREVER! Don't raise the duck then release it into the wild! STOP DOING THIS!

      YES!!! I’ve seen to many videos of people walking in the park and as their about to leave a random duck starts following them. it’s inhumane & dangerous!!

    My sister in law had a duck. A true animal lover but the duck became too much for her. Just the amount of filth everywhere and the smell. She adopted the duck away. DO NOT get a ducks unless you are a farmer or have PLENTY of space inside or outside and are willing to spend a lot of time caring for the ducks.

    Great, honest video about having ducks! The other thing I would mention is they aren’t like chickens, they don’t readily go in the duck house at night like chickens do….also as you did mention, daily clean water is a must! So ducks are much more of a tie down outdoor pet, meaning they will need to be looked after if you plan on traveling. Keep up the helpful videos!

    Included lots of clips of geese in this video, not sure if it was intentional. Also, I know this is a poultry channel, but a few videos on our livestock would be cool (I noticed the website has a section about goats, that'd be a neat video).

    Can confirm…do NOT GET A PET DUCK. You will be taking that duck EVERYWHERE…like EVERYWHERE…on ALL VACATIONS. I have a rescue duck who lives inside. Though she spends the days with the outside birds supervised. If I leave, she leaves. If I move around she moves around. It’s a WHOLE THING. When she wants to go swimming she swims. It’s all about Hale…or we listen to the yelling. But I love her so much it’s ridiculous. I know everything she tells me. She’s got one leg and she hops around behind me everywhere. But the moment I am not within eye sight she’s SCREAMING!!! Like so so loud 🤦🏼‍♀️ she could wake the dead…She also roams around with my 4 dogs and 2 cats and everyone loves her. The cats don’t even try to mess with her because they learned A LONG TIME AGO you do NOT mess with ducks 🤣🤣 she loves to pick on my Pomeranian though and bite his toes 🤣🤣 lucky he’s the sweetest and has no teeth…😂 but anyway. The only reason we ended up with her was because of a friend hatching her from her own ducks. Otherwise she wouldn’t be here. She’s special. Typically I would NEVER have a duck as a pet. They are absolutely the most disgusting little creatures…But I LOVE them in my yard they are absolutely gorgeous to watch and so funny omg!! But yeah don’t let them in your house 😂😂

    We have 3 female pekin ducks we got from a friend at 1 day old. They are now 9 weeks, we try to handle them daily, bring them treats, give them lots of fresh pools to play in, but they ALWAYS run away from us and honk loudly. Is there a way to change this??? When theybwere smaller they would lay on us in the sun for hours....

    • @annamarrs5413
      @annamarrs5413 10 місяців тому +2

      Legit our runners were the exact same way!! We spent every second we could with them. They snuggled us when they were tiny and then one day we put them in a bigger space and they were like FINALLY WE CAN GET AWAY FROM YOU!!! And I was just like 😒 fine screw your guys…All that work for NOTHING…but I can say, now that they are all grown up. When they want something or need something, they will come over to me and kind of show me or lay next to me until I notice something is up…and they also lay under my chair when I’m sitting outside. So they definitely have a different bond to me than they do anyone else. Also if I have to pick one up they are much more likely to let me do it than anyone else. So I don’t think it was all for nothing. I think that it just has to do with the breed. They just aren’t the kind that like to be handled very much. So when I do I’m very slow, calmly telling her what I’m doing. Making sure I have a good hold of her so she’s not worried I’m going to drop her. If I need to use a towel to cover around her I do. Sometimes covering their face calms them down for a sec so you can get that good grip and then if she starts to panic take it off her face and use your words to calm her and light petting with your fighters. Just always trying to keep that feeling of trust with her because that is the biggest thing with ducks is trust.

      you can buy them as ducklings or buy fertilized egg and hatch them in incubator. buying adult duck isn't preferable however if you have rescued them. thats a different stories. there are lots of verities of ducks make sure to choose what you like. they need lots of protien in diet. duckweed, insects are mostly they forage. they love fish but it smells fishy

    My ducks were rescues, as an idiotic neighbor of my released all 17 of his ducks to fend for themselves sadly 15 of them were killed off within the first 2 nights and i decided to take the last 2 and live them dearly, they happen to be male and female and i now have 6 five week old babies that will be pets and i will never be using my ducks for meat ❤
    STOP RELEASING YOUR DUCKS OUT INTO THE WILD IT WILL KILL THEM
