This was a bug. So yeah, this is an exploit of a old bug. Basically, at the end of the interest period, the game "forgot" to calculate the new interest amount based upon the outstanding loan. Within an interest period, things being pro-rated is just fair. Probably the devs should have just simplified it and charged 2% every day, instead of using an interest period. But it was fixed in 2024.5.0.
Yes, I sure did enjoy utilizing the exploit though! It seems now that the save where I had the exploit now makes it where I don’t have to pay any interest, so still a lingering bug.
I find the money cheat does not work. When properly entered, it just shows the current Balance. There must be some other hidden rules to make it work, besides being in sandbox and using a dollar sign with comma denoting the 1000 point. I would like to quickly expand out to Robinson Mine with a fully signaled RR and run the Mine at Tier 5 serving it with doubleheader C-55 locos, with a $150,000 cheat from Robinson Mine to quickly get up and running. Yeah I’ve never tried the actual cheat, just heard people talking about it, sorry it doesn’t work.
It works for me. First, you must be in sandbox mode and the command is simply "money cheat dollar amount". The double quotes aren't necessary and if you want to subtract money from your account you would just put a - in front of the amount.
