    Well put together video, would be great to see the Karbonius Race plenum, if your contacts could get you one to film.
    The one that takes air straight from the kidney grilles in a straight line into the plenum, should produce a bit more of a ram air effect.
    Great reviews!

      The race plenum looks incredible 😎 problem is it does require work to make it fit - lower/ smaller radiator titled forward, aircon radiator deleted and work with a custom filter so not something I would want to chop the car up too fit for road use 😅
      Glad you enjoyed the video 👍

    You parked just next to our stand with all the E92s at the Gaydon meet! Next time come say hi, hope you enjoyed the E9X line up :)

      It was a bit last minute going so didn’t plan to convoy with any groups but the row of E92’s looked great 😎

    This video was very helpful for me to choose between the two versions, I think I'm going with the round one as I have LHD car, fitment won't be an issue hopefully.

    Finally a new vid! :) ouch! for the man falling on his head xD
    I could easily see myself owning an E92 M3. But compared to my E46 M3 PY, they cost a lot more to own. Maybe not in maintenance, but everything else like insurance, tax and fuel. It would increase to nearly double / year. Or what''s your take on it?

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  2 роки тому +1

      Trying to get a new video up each week but a constant battle with a full time job 😅
      It is a step up in cost agreed, the e92 “appears” more solid in terms of running issues but as you advise the cost do increase - road tax is almost double, on a run the e46 will do 35mpg where’s the e92 is 26mpg.. that V8 though 🤤

    • @jonashedman131
      @jonashedman131 2 роки тому

      Yeah that's what i thought :) We'll see what the future looks like.. either way, the e46 is also an awesome platform. Maybe i should enjoy what i already have ;)

      I had seen trumpets come loose on more than one occasion and didn’t want the risk to my car with that happening so went with the proven brand 😎

      The rev counter shot had the microphone on the bonnet next to the bonnet vent & all the other audio was on a RODE lav mic clipped to the seat belt

      @@stoneautomotive Oh if it sounds like this in the cabin when you were in frame then I'm sold! I was thinking you might have recorded with 2 mics simultaneously in all shots when you were speaking. what a blast ! I'm purely interested in the sound enhancement. You had to return your round one ?

      @@roymoorman5990 oh man it makes a sound in the cabin don’t worry, I don’t think the video does it justice 😅
      If you have a really loud exhaust you may struggle to hear but even with the pre-cat delete and 2-pipe modification on my silencer the intake still howls above it as can be seen in this video -

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  Рік тому

      I think at the time it was around £2,500 but like every thing it may have gone up with materials and production costs increasing sadly.. fitting is much easier than the e46 M3 and mapping is not required if your in it for just the sound but boy does it make one hell of a sound 😎😎😎

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  Рік тому

      Ps - remember if you keep your original intake it’s easy to revert when you sell the car and sell on the carbon intake for a minimal loss as there’s normally a 5 - 8 week lead time it’s just the initial outlay

    How much is dyno ?

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  2 роки тому

      Dyno power runs are normally £40-£100 depending on where you go! Surrey rolling road provide a £45 power run Saturday every couple of months

  • @THEDOPEYDAISY
    @THEDOPEYDAISY Рік тому

    These carbon plenums don’t really make any power at all, they are just for sound. There isn’t a intake for the road going S65 that actually makes any power.Karbonius claiming 25BHP is ridiculous.

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  Рік тому +2

      The sound alone is worth it for me 🤤😅
      The claimed power was completed on a test over on the American M3 forum, guy went stock, plenum & finally plenum with custom calibration
      I think the real key to getting more out of the e92 is weight loss 😬

    Shell/bp etc are investing billions in this Algae/Biofuel…hope for the internal combustion engine lives on! I reckon in 10/15 years the electric car fad will be out and will be replaced with hydrogen or this algae biofuel which has the potential to be very clean and low carbon emissions etc.

    For a car that's supposed to have 420bhp from factory, these aren't exactly impressive gains specially at that price tag for the intake...guess the sound somewhat makes up for that.

    • @stoneautomotive
      @stoneautomotive  2 роки тому +3

      Naturally aspirated tuning life 😅
      I’ve seen stock cars run 360-400bhp on dyno dynamics rollers so sadly they don’t make the numbers out the factory (just like the e46 M3) although all of BMW’s turbo stuff exceeds factory quotes from what I’ve seen on dyno days 👍
      The sound/ feel from the carbon intake was worth it for me, you can spend £6,000 on a Titanium Akrapovic that delivers 10bhp so guess it all depends what your goals are for the car 👍
