  • Is your 2019+ Sprinter equipped with the factory trailer wiring package? If so, then you can easily install our trailer brake control kit .
    It's as easy as "plug+crimp+play" .

I purchased this kit. Installation was easy, and just as described in this video. The task isn't difficult, but you need to be patient and be able to contort yourself a little bit to get in and out of these areas. If you have a bad back, get a younger person with rubber bones to help you! A couple of points: Depending on the options your Sprinter has, there are a couple of items to consider. If you have electric seats, move the seat backwards and forwards to remove the mounting bolts BEFORE you disconnect the battery. If the seat is too far back, and you disconnect the battery first, you won't be able to get the socket on the rear bolts in the rail. My van has a lot more electronics under the seat than the one pictured in this video. Getting that nylon snake through the duct work to where you can grab it is tricky. You just need to be patient and keep messing with it until it pops up. If you spend a couple bucks on a needle-nose that has very long jaws, you'll be glad you did. On my van there are four electric plugs under the driver's seat. They are different colors. I snapped a picture of them with my phone because I knew I wouldn't remember which ones go where a couple hours later. There are three plugs that have a very easy little "lever" system. (you'll know it when you see it.) Those are easy to operate. The 4th one is yellow and a different style. It has two tiny little pins that need to move towards each other. I was able to get a fingernail on one of the pins, and the tip of the blade of my pocket knife on the other. Once I figured that out, it was easy to pop that last plug out. Last, my van has dual batteries. I disconnected the post on the main battery that he is talking about behind the dash. I also disconnected the main battery at the negative terminal just to be safe. Under the passenger seat is the aux battery. The ground cable for that battery snakes down to the bottom of the seat mount box, just above the step. There is a hole in the seat mount box in the upper, front right corner. If you put a light inside the seat mount, and look through that hole, you can see the 13mm nut that holds the ground cable down. Remove that nut and you can disconnect the ground on the aux battery without removing the passenger seat. Even after all that, when I opened the driver's door, there was still an electronic motor somewhere in the van that made noise for a few seconds. I don't know what it is, or where it is. And I had the three ground wires that I was aware of disconnected! It didn't seem to matter for the installation. But my point is that even when I disconnected all the grounds, the batteries were still making power somewhere. One more point: I run heavy equipment and trucks for a living. For the first time in my career, I found a project where 13mm and 1/2 wrenches/sockets were not interchangeable. My 1/2" tools would not fit on the 13mm nuts for this project. I had to dig out my metric tools. Hope this helps!

Are you able to show me where the green plug from Mercedes connects to under the seat. Is it a wiring cable that goes to the towbar ecu. Could you please show a video of the cable location and if it has a part number plz

Please explain to me that green plug that comes from the factory, what is that green plug. Does it come with all sprinters regardless of having a factory cable for the trailer? Or does it only come with the factory wiring for the trailer. If it does not what are the connections cables please explain.

Hi! I have a 2019 sprinter 2500, installed this brake controller, the screen turned on but saying trailer is not connected! Also right turn signal not working on the trailer and right brake light. Do you know where are the fuses? Thanks

Would like to know how you do this without removing the drivers seat. The airbag connectors are very temperamental in the Sprinter, and I'd just as soon not mess with them.

Does the pre wired trailer plug work for lights and turn signals without a brake controller? I get no signals on my 2019
