This knife is one very strong, powerful weapon.I have phoenix2.It is a bit smaller tactical combat knife made for special Russian military units and it comes with a tactical plastic sheath and some kind of hard rubber in handle.I used it alot and can tell you that that this blade is perfect for combat and survival situations!In my country it coast about 120 euros. @yvranx I tell the steel type in the video - you might have missed this part by zapping through the vid.The tip was not blunted - maybe a light reflex might make you think so(I have no reason to lie,mate!) Fail throws are very hard stress to any handle of a knife - try it out . This is not true! This specific Kizlyar knife made of U8 steel is tougher! I also like TOPS knives, since I own a couple of them. I like the 1095 carbon steel, TOPS uses for their knives.

Ive seen some videos of it and it survived wood chopping and holze making. I Wonder could you take the testin to the next level?

the one the guy in the video has is u8. its thicker and heavier. for a combat knife the u8 is heavy. the standard phoenix with the elastron handle is much faster handling in my opinion and is significantly lighter. i have an old one made with russian steel but not u8

are the new non- u8 phoenix knives actually made from aus 8 steel or is it russian steel? i see kizlyar supreme knives are almost ALL aus8 or d2,,neither being RUSSIA steels! Insane right? Russia cant make their own steel cheap enough to turn a profit?
I just received mein two days ago...this thing is build like a tank ( German tiger or russian T72 type), heavy but a real fighting knife......russian type .....was used to cold steal militatry N1 or Tops prather bowie but the kizliar combat 1 is something like first world war bayonette.....after spyderco sharpening, you can shave yourself....No way you can't break it.....
Nice review but two things: First of all fix this board that is always falling off when you are throwing knives ;p Second thing, use newspaper or some other thin paper when you are doing sharpness cut test .
Thanks for the video...it helped me to decide to purchase one. I can't believe the deal I got on it, but anyhow, how does the knife feel in hand? Is it as relatively light & well balanced as it seems to be? Is the handle comfortable in several grips, or do the finger grooves get in the way? Obviously, the thing is tough & looks badass - can't wait for it to get here!
i really like the original pheonix elastron handled non finger grooved knife much better.it affords more types of grips and is faster handling in my opinion. they should have just put a different name on this knife all together. it seems they tried to blend their excellent scorpion knife with a pheonix..scorpnix??

i like my original phoenix better..it has the black elastron grip that i personally find much better and more versatile than the micarta clone on the combat 1 a reverse grip being uncomfortablw with the finger grooves..its also lighter and faster through the air

Prob not alot of difference but the aus 8 isnt as strong as what's used in the combat version which is now y8a then z160
