I'm normally not very good at understanding MV references and meanings but I know for sure that the cigarette MV scene is from the classic Italian movie Malèna which is about how society judges a woman just because she was "too sensual" and different in her time. In that scene she gives herself a makeover so she cuts and dies her hair from dark brown to red just like Hwasa in the MV to I guess "fit in"/ own the shit ppl say about her and make herself available to men and as soon as she pulls out the cigarette the men around her start to offer her help while the women around her where jealous of her beauty and how bold she was for doing what she did calling her disgusting. And in the end u see her friends come over to help her through the hard times dealing with societies negativity like the way ppl reacted when she died. They only cared about her when she died and where not decent enough to respect her and took pictures of her dead body and yet nobody showed up to her funeral (notice how the chairs were turned the other way around ). I think the first MV scene shows u what would have happened if she didn't have the support of her band members and if she wasn't strong enough and let the floating pencils which I think represent the press and the articles written about her (aka ppls BS) get to her. If u look up the lyrics u will understand it better, they are very touchy and powerfully relatable to many females out there including myself. This is definitely a sad and personal song for Hwasa with upbeat instrumentals. Feel free to add more to what I commented and correct me if I miss interpreted something :)
There's a really minute but important point which most of the people missed out. Remember the scene in which black-headed or Good Maria dances which nude and ash coloured costume? The place is morgue. Her costume probably resembles the transparency after dead. Once you're dead, all the filters are removed. That's one of my interpretations. I hope that's not wrong.

I’m an international Moomoo and have been a fan of the girls since they started. Hwasa was always portrayed as someone who is confident of herself no matter what. But we know that she also faces her struggles when everyone’s not looking anymore. As you guys explained the lyrics, I can’t help but shed tears. It’s clear she’s also just human. She gets hurt. People have committed suicide and feel pressure to have plastic surgery. The kpop system and fans can be toxic. They require girls,women to be a certain weight. They talk about diets and weight a lot. There is too much pressure to look a certain way or be “ perfect” . It’s toxic. Hwasa is real. I’m glad she made a song and video about the dark side of the industry.

Yes, the cigarette scene is reference to a movie. But Hwasa is still incredibly brave to make the choice of making that reference- AFAIK (thanks to Heechul on Knowing Bros lol) smoking is a huuuge huge problem in Korea and a big no no in terms of idol image. Being in unsteady mental health for years makes it more relatable ☹ And it was concerning when she was playing with the scissor. That suicidal thoughts are dangerous when you're alone, so I'm glad that she has her Mamamoo members with her. And I don't know about others, but when I read news of idols' suicide, because of the stress and hate they received from those haters... seriously, those people... I thought of it as Hwasa figuratively giving pieces of herself through her art, namely her brain and her heart...which the haters consume without thought or feeling...the other stuffs on the table like CDs, magnetic tape, mp3 player thingys, baubles and candies are reminiscent of idol performance, persona and presentation. Hwasa is figuratively laid bare at the table (possibly by Maria, who is sneering at how silly and hypocritical the consumers at table are)

I thought of it as Hwasa figuratively giving pieces of herself through her art, namely her brain and her heart...which the haters consume without thought or feeling...the other stuffs on the table like CDs, magnetic tape, mp3 player thingys, baubles and candies are reminiscent of idol performance, persona and presentation. Hwasa is figuratively laid bare at the table (possibly by Maria, who is sneering at how silly and hypocritical the consumers at table are)

The cigarette scene was from the movie malena when all the guys want her but the women hates her which is a reference that beauty have it's good and bad and in korean version I know that cigarettes make a great damage to an idol image the most it means when she's about to commit something to be criticized for unknowingly everybody will offer to "kill her" but no one will care about her later when she's dead... that's my opinion
