Yeah imagine having a death animation as brutal as this, its like an homage to some older space horrors like dead space, and I dont know why its not still done today!
There was supposed to be a DLC where there was a ship discovered that human mimics, chances are that this was a leftover from that feature. Could have been great, assuming that there was a procedural system that had a way to have major characters in the DLC be mimics and humans, so you don't know who to trust.
this wouldve been a better idea ngl lets say you complete the test, leave, and the doctor leaves, but quickly someone who looks like him comes over, says nothing and then turns into a mimic as you're knocked unconcious either from shock or from some sort of drug they give to you after killing the mimic
nah its not a game about social thing. There not many alive humans on talos but there so many stuff. Mimic human iteresting concept but not for tht type situation. seing random man in hostile area is such a red signal than seing extra chair
@@user-rv7kk1to9h yeah prob not, though instead of that one human you see die immediately in thst one small room (early game, or the one in that hall) they ask you for help and then they shift into something stronger, idk maybe like a phantom or some body horror thing
woaaah! Nice!!! i love this game, but with these animations... i would love it more :D ok.. beth. said, the mimic imitates only "things". But this concept is so cool!
this is really cool, but considering how hard they already worked on the game and the scope of gameplay mechanics relating to npcs that they managed to get functioning within that time, this would have been an impossible workload or complete shift of priorities they probably didn't see worth doing
the last one is so horrific
Frrrr
They should have kept this in the game.
I guess they only wanted the mimics to mimic objects
@@lwdrd Or they wanted to release the game on time. That's usually why cool things like this get cut from games.
This would've been gold if they used it
They mimic things very accurately, if they could mimic humans and have a human brain they would just communicate to us

@@user-ig5gq6wv8m Wish that this existed with an option to continue playing albeit with a bad ending where you had to fight the humans.
They would spoil the ending i Guess 😂
What.. the hell... were they thinking? This is so good!
from what I remember of the documentary they wanted to keep it but struggled with implementation
"The Thing" vibes
this wouldve been a better idea ngl

Last one could've worked as a telepath slave death consequence imo. "Eggs behind the eyes" thing.
This would've went crazy holy crap
0:23 Ah, the miracle of birth.
woah why didnt they use the last one breh, that shits wicked
Well that's fucking horrifying, love it
Makes them much more disturbing and creepy.

To be fair, human corpses are things... and a good thing to mimic, heh
After seeing this, we definitely need a sequel on earth with more evolved typhon that do this.
Agreed...but don't count on it with the team that created Prey being dissolved earlier this year
They really should keep that. It would be more hard to avoid killing humans if you dont know if it was a mimic or not
this is really cool, but considering how hard they already worked on the game and the scope of gameplay mechanics relating to npcs that they managed to get functioning within that time, this would have been an impossible workload or complete shift of priorities they probably didn't see worth doing
Yeah maybe it's for the better they're unused 😂😂
they should have kept the last one in game, cuz that would make it worth being pegi 18
That would have been so cool if thatd what the Phantoms did
This could clue in players to the big twist of the ending
Where did you get this animation?
I believe that this is from the Prey Documentary made by Noclip.
@@derpytaco1134 is it! Thx man, you helped
Modders! Please restore cut content!
Afaik these anims don't exist anywhere in the files
It's honestly a shame this isn't in the game, would have been so cool
They should have used this. Would have jump scared the ever living shit out of me
These would’ve made them a lot better
they should have kept them, this shit would have been so unnerving and would have hinted to the ending
I think the opposite way, it makes the ending feel less shocking and more of a little surprise
Se tivesse isso no jogo pra mim ai ss prey séria oficialmente um jogo de terror e sobrevivência imagina ver isso pela primeira vez
i just finished prey why did they remove this
Well, it wasn't "removed" exactly, they just never had the time to implement it
ඞ
Holy shiiiiit
