Unlikely, since he gave Sir David Willcocks one of his personal copies of the Requiem, as a mark of gratitude after Sir David conducted the British premiere in 1957, with Duruflé playing the organ. Willcocks had been organist of Salisbury & Worcester cathedrals, and would go on to King’s College Choir. It appears the great French composer was quite happy to slum it with the heretics, even in public.
