junior was the first to play this at soundfactory about six months before it was released. This is a true classic! no one should even try to remix this piece of house history.
thanks Jay Williams for contributing in setting us free from the chains of apartheid. around this time of the decade the demise of that evil system was in sight. we had made it uncontrollable.
One of my all time favorite club jams. For years every time they played it all the children would flock onto the floor and tear it up, especially at Loretta's and Traxx's ( Atlanta ), still love it like it was yesterday
My hairs still stand up every time i hear this. It must be heard in a loud system, loud enough so that you feel the base in your chest, then you'll know what i'm talking about. This is a phenomenal piece produced by one of the very best that ever did it my boy Nelson Paradise Roman...
thank u jay Williams ...for this wonderful, liberating and authentic soulful house track ....I was 16 years old in the early 90's at my first house music party and danced my ass off !!!! love from a house head from Washington heights by the George Washington bridge. the riverside jams...secret garden outlaw parties .....thank u !!!
House brings liberation to all. This timeless classic is just one of the many examples that makes Headz proud to be a part of the family. This song has drenched countless dance floors and will into infinity. Soak and Wet.
Brings back soooooo many memories . We gotta keep this alive. House music never got anyone shot or stabbed. Its all love. Don't get me wrong. Some of the contemporary house is bangin but they short on the message. I'm 37
If I'm not mistaken, this song was released in 1990....I was very, very young then, and after many, many years I heard it again.....and it sounds sòòò damn good....This is just proof that 70's, 80's, 90's produced quality, quality music..... I agree with another listener that said, "as a South African, this song gives him the chills"..... I totally agree.....AGAIN, quality music.......Love this track
Man, this was out at the same time as "Motherland", and dj Burt at Club 88 would mix them together and we thought that for a moment, our dancing alone would change the world.
I remember that!! - LOL! Especially dancing in front of the mirrored wall under the d.j. booth. Whenever I'd come home, Burt would make me mixed tapes to take back to FL. I can't explain how much I miss those days..❤
YES I do! On the first floor baby! Every Sunday night this track was being SERVED at the legendary MARS! I remember dancing this track the "girls" & "boys" & children of the night! I miss old NYC!
I love this song, we were still young boys then, dancing until late hours with my friends, myself Amos maluleke meshark and Judas makhubele at Malamulele Nyavani.
Oh my poor brain cells . This song popped into my head last night while I was at work. Iam amazed that I have any brain cells left to remember. Sound factory !
Back in the 80s and 90s in NYC, I use to go to gay and straight clubs and what I learned was that there was no such thing as a gay or straight club when it came to real house music. Back then most clubs were largely diverse. The people were there for the music, there was no bullshit in the clubs, it was always about the music and bringing people together in peace and harmony. Everyone had a good time.
You stole the words out of my head. There was NOTHING like the original Sound Factory. Christine Vachon was a visionary and Junior Vasquez was/is/will forever be. We probably shared a dance! My best friend was a Straight Boy married to a BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful bisexual woman from Trinidad, and we would just circle the dancefloor looking for beautiful, friendly faces to dance with, and nothing more. What more did you NEED?! 💖
This just took me back to Redzone...The Building....Palladium...Demarrara... Sound Factory & Sound Factory Bar. This was the Best days of NYC night life... u start at Midnight till the next day at the Shelter at 6am!!!!! we would hit up at least 4 - 5 clubs in 1 night!
oh my gosh, this was another Anthem along with Tribal House- Motherland. this was hot at the Delta and Clubhouse DC!!!! thanks for posting!!!! This is definitely a flashback and true sound of house!!!!!!
The harmonics of the flutes with the bass line and the piano riffs @ 5.50 just make my head spin. Oh la la. Used to dance my ass of to this one back in the day. Still do.
This house cut, show nuff brought everybody to the dance floor wherever it was played at in Atlanta Ga. in the late 80's early 90" ( Loretta's, Traxx's, Fusion's, etc.)
HOLY ISH!!!!! THANK YOU!!! THIS IS THE ISH!!!! FOREVER!!!! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENALLY AMAZING GE YOUR ASS UP AND DANCE & SWEAT GROOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLAKA!!!! MORE FIYAH!!!!!!
THIS TOOK ME BACK TO THE BASEMENT PERFECTING MY BLENDS...THIS IS THE HEAD NOD MUSIC THAT ENTERS YOUR SOUL.....GOOD LOOK ON THIS TRACK BROOKLYN LOS SURES STAND UP,BLOCK PARTIES......
