- This is a Liturgical Ottoman Turkish translation of the chant written by Saint Nikolaj Velimirović of Ohrid and Žiča.
This is not a direct translation and some parts of the chant have been altered to fit the chanting style, while keeping the spirit and meaning of the chant.
Translated by E. Fotios Metin, December of 2022.

Dehşet hem devlet tasvîr olunmaz

Âleme helâk dökerken Yezdân
Semâ yıkıldı ser-i beşere
Fânî âlem vardı nihâyete
Semâdan inerken sâf-sâf cünûd
Mü'minler kılar şükr ile sücûd

Sâlih olur şâd vâsıl-ı Hüdâ
Arz ü bahre bak nice mahv olur

Ево Господа са Војскама иде, душмани наши нека се застиде!
Нека се застиде, нека се покају, погледај Војску Неба како блистају!
Kако блистају, како се оре, слежу се пред њима високе горе.
Високе горе и горди цари, погледај, иде Господ да се зацари.
Серафими напред па Херувими, сва земља гори сав свет се дими!
Сав свет се дими, тешко се дише, радост и ужас ко да опише?!
Ко да опише чудо чудеса кад земљу грешну стегну Небеса!?
Стегну Небеса својом близином, тад земља плоду слична је гњилом(трулом)!
Војске за Војском из Неба ничу, Ангели трубе, праведни кличу!
Праведни кличу: "Ево Господа!", нека ишчезне земља и вода!
Земља и вода нашто нам више? Погледај, сад се збива што Писмо пише!
Што Писмо пише све се догађа, ново се Небо и Земља рађа!
Ево Господа, устајте људи, ево Га иде свету да суди!
Свету да суди, стадо да лучи, од стопа свемир тутњи и хучи!
Тутњи и хучи земља и небо шта ће нам сада злато и сребро?
Злато и сребро нека почине, а Ти нам блистај Божији Сине!

@@zlatni_orao "Ottoman Turkish" is Turkish but way too heavily influenced by Arabic and Persian, and was actually written with the Arabic alphabet, and most of the general populace did not speak it anyway. I find it horrid, and I thank Atatürk for reforming the language.
@@SkynetGeneral As a matter of fact, most of the words in the work were spoken by an average person in Anatolia between the 14th and 20th centuries. You can easily see this in literary works written for the public to understand, such as the works of Yunus Emre, Kaygusuz Abdal, Edib Harabi, Niyazi Misri or in Alevi-Bektashi Literature. The truth is that what you call Turkish today is an artificial thing that was created after 1925 and consists largely of words taken from Central Asian languages or invented by the state. For example, nobody uses the word "dortte bir" to mean a quarter, but they use the word "cheyrek", which comes from the Persian chehar u yek (four and one). Even Ataturk regretted his language reform and stopped it, but the Turkish language was heavily damaged and today the old melodic beauty of the language has disappeared. Please do more research when talking about your history.

This is probably Turkish before language reform. But it's quite understandable for me, I think this is written in language people spoke, not in how bureaucrats was speaking. Styling of the words makes it look different, but this is still Turkish.

@@velvetunderground2365 That's what I meant in my original comment, we have hymns and liturgical music in Semitic languages and is very common (i.e. Byzantine Arabic, Aramaic, Syriac, Egyptian, etc.), but not many from non-Semitic/non-Indo-European languages.
