CRUCIALLY: If Vanessa Feltz, and a lot of the public, had actually watched the show she and they would have KNOWN that the Mainstream Media are also, and wholly unsurprisingly, misrepresenting the events and how they occurred. Kata refusing to high five Wynne came first, it was the beginning of their joke, it was NOT a response to Wynne's hand on her waist. When you see his hand on her waist he's not cuddling up to her, blowing in her ear or looking anywhere near suggestive, he's actually laughing his ass off - why? Because it's a JOKE!!!! Something out of nothing just to get clicks, and a few coppers, but Wynne's reputation and career have the potential to be in the toilet because of people like Vanessa and others who have jumped on the bandwagon without any knowledge of what actually occurred and have attempted to ruin him.
I am not sure this is correct Vanessa. Firstly Wynne took Katya to the ROH and she has happily appeared on his radio show and on the dance floor they have been great. Secondly Wynne has a new girlfriend who was in the audience along with his friends. She has helped Wynne recover from anxiety and depression which he suffered after his marriage broke down. Thirdly Katya threw herself at a bemused Wynne after their dance wrapping her legs around him.She held his hand tightly during judging and you don't do that if you can't stand someone. Fourthly, after the missed high 5, Katya immediately grasped Wynne's hand on her shoulder. The hand on waist it has been suggested was a reference to Neil, her ex husband who did something very similar to Toyah the week before. Wynne clearly had a jokey look on his face. Wynne is a respected opera singer, a well loved presenter in Wales whose friends include members of the WRU team. I have friends who sing with WNO and to my knowledge I have not heard anything bad against him and I think people in Wales were encouraging him and Katya in this competition. He also holds the British Empire Medal and his mother had a royal honour as well for her services to youth theatre in Wales. He is a funny, warm guy and you can tell he is deeply upset by all of this. There were rumours that Katya was trying to grab headlines from other competitors and she has a track record of getting her partners bad press. I hope Wynne was not stitched up in some way to go along with some bad joke. Kai put a comment on Wynne's social media which seems to confirm that this was a joke between them. It misfired and I think the BBC told them both off. Hopefully people will stop calling Wynne names now and judge them on their dancing. Wynne is clearly loving this and like his appearance on Masterchef, he is mastering a new skill.

The follow-ups are effectively contrived and pathetic. At the end of the day, there is far too much cringe worthy tactile behaviour going on with Strictly. To be close and personal with male or female it is by invite only. You should never expect you have the right to put your hand on another person without consent. If you have a friendly relationship with male or female there will invariably be some positive signs that you have my permission to put your hand on my hand or my arm or my shoulder or my waist. There is a distinct line drawn and Katya moved his hand to a position she was personally comfortable with. It wasn't a violent gesture, it was nicely weighted and instructive. I respect her decision to reiterate her position and boundaries. She didn't move completely away from the guy but the extent of his hand movement was too far for her, that to me is over familiarity. Honesty is the best outcome and to make a statement to this effect because she may have had bad experiences historically and does not want such closeness, this needs to be done maturely and sensitively and not the bullshit the Beeb wants you to hear. We are tactile creatures by birth but as we grow older we learn when it is not acceptable and we all must respect another person's feelings on touch.
