- In todays adventure we will go to a motorcycle dealer, and see how much they will give men for my two bikes.
Will the rip us off?
Or will I be going home in a Honda Africa Twin?

Mid week ;)
When I debated trading my 2018 Goldwing in for a 2022 NC750X and went to the dealer they gave me more than I expected and just $500 under what I asked them for (knowing I wouldn’t get it). But they threw in the center stand which made it pretty close. So I drove home on the new NC750X and a bunch of cash since the NC still less than the Goldwing trade in.
I just found an interesting product. Have you looked at using the Insta360 One RS? I don't remember you ever mentioning it so i'm not sure, but it looks interesting.
yeah like the 360 cams. I have thought about one, but more cams = more editing, lol. I honestly wanna go down to just one cam, but will probably stick with 2
@@adventureundone Yeah. They just caught my attention as apparently you can take them apart and only have one camera and a screen (like a gopro) or put the 360* one on. Looked like a lego camera with the different configurations lol
They'd buy for $3200 and sell for $12k lol.. I hate dealerships with a passion...
I'm late to this conversation and I don't think you got ripped off by the dealer. I think the dealership probably made a wise choice. First, carburetor's are so 2019, and who wants carburetion anymore, unless one is a mechanic. Buying the 2019 DR 650 was probably a mistake, and making mistakes is a good thing for learning. You mentioned you got a good deal on the bike, I suspect in the $5,500 range, plus another grand in mods, so maybe you could get $5,000 selling it yourself. The dealer probably didn't want to add a bike few would be interested in.
I'd just bought my Himmi when I came across a near new but used TW200 at a different dealer. I thought I'd see what they'd give me. I was offerred half what I paid yet they wanted almost FP for the TW plus a $395 admin fee. That was almost 4 yrs ago. Still have my Himmi, and 3 new additions to my garage. The way to look at trade-ins.. pretend you rented your bike for a hundred bucks/day, then you won't feel so bad!
that's crazy I figured they would at least do 5,000
yeah same here
Yeah i don't trust most dealers lol, it's fine to get a bit less than you might expect, as they want a profit but not in the thousand(s) below that's just madness.
I would give you way more private sale...1700 for freight and prep?.INSANITY!
9 grand is my guess...4 for the dr, 5 for the nc750
I just got $3k for my 9 yo $6k scooter for a trade to a NC750
$3.2k. 😂lol. They werent even trying
Sounds like Freedom Powersports. They have them down here in Texas and wanted something crazy like $1,700 for fright.
The reason for the discrepancy in prices is the DRZ is high in demand. The NC750 can be tough to sell in many areas.
You’re gonna make me jealous and make me go see how much I can get for mine 😂. Really eyeing the S1K
lol
I was guessing they would offer $3K for the DR. With only 1300 miles on it you would have got a higher offer from the dealer if it was bone stock.
You will do better selling it yourself. I’m guessing you have somewhere north of $7000 in it.
I had an ‘06 and it was a great bike. I sold it in 2012 with over 30,000 miles for $2500. I rode it on trails, commuted on it , and toured on it. It handles the highway fine. Not fun on the interstate but it will do it.
Good luck selling it and getting the AT.
