@Sofia Beate Danielsen Don't buy into this rewriting of history by finninsh nationalists. Or do you mean Finland suddenly stopped being scandinvian in 1809, after 650 years as Sweden's east half?
@Sofia Beate Danielsen Haha! Are you that rigid for real? On the contrary. It's totally arbitrary, and just based on recent politics. Finland is actually more Scandinavia than Denmark (as the mountain range Skanderna are in Finland, but not in Denmark). That's also how the term is traditionally used in Germany.
@Sofia Beate Danielsen I'm not exactly the one that act stupid here. Do you even know what a rigid person is? Of course I know the modern formal definition, otherwise I couldn't critizise it... The name Scandinavia comes from that mountain range, not from some cultural ties. Finland *was* part of Scandinavia, for all these centuries when Finland was part of Sweden. This was all of its existence as "Finland" actually, until it was taken by Russia in 1809. Swedish is still an official language in Finland. That's what I would call cultural ties. So, again, excluding Finland is indeed very arbitrary (motivated just by an ambition no to hurt their nationalistic feelings). You are the only one stating my name sounds Swedish, btw. People usually say it sounds German.
@Sofia Beate Danielsen You seem a little confused here, lady. Norway is about as old as Sweden, although it has been ruled by both Denmark and Sweden for long periods of time. Finland (or woods) has little to do with the formation of Sweden around Svealand and Götaland in the 1100s to 1200s. But a major part of Finland was indeed a region of Sweden almost from the start in the 1100s, just like the similar Norrland still is, for instance. We actually have had contact with the Finns since before the viking age, even kids together :) They were a little like the Sami people at the time, pretty nomadic and with no written language until the 1500s. (It was designed by a Swedish speaking priest that based it on an idealized Swedish-German spelling, so that's why they use so many ä and ö.)
Erm, I was wondering if the Skarsgård family who work in the entertainment industry can all make an appearance on the show? Stellan has made an appearance but not Alexander, or Bill or Valter. I think Gustaf has. It would be wonderful!
Scandi talk shows : so calm, so relaxed, no drama lol
Except for Finnish, the Finns don't eat at the Skavlan table ^^
