    Another great video. A lot there. How about a video regarding backing up Office365 Exchange Online mailboxes in to Azure? Can it be done?

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks Richard! As for Exchange Online as far as I know, it cannot be backed up with Azure Backup :-)
      Office365 is another cloud service and honestly it is outside my area.
      I am working on a collaboration with some Office365 folks...stay tuned!

      @@AzureAcademy Great stuff. I'll look forward to that. Managed to get my first server backed up and restored :-) Next will be trying this with a DC. Fingers crossed.

    can we use Mars agent to back Azure vm ? so we can take snapshot three times

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      The MARS Agent can take the backups when you want. but the automatic backups are limited per day

    hi can you please create a video for a WORM solution? So where a powerbook/script backups all data to a different tenant an do incremental backup? When at the 1. tenant a ransomware would happen, so is on the 2. tenant all data safe

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      WORM or Write Once Read Many this is a feature of storage blobs not azure backup.
      There is also no native way to take a blob account in one tenant and send the data to another tenant.
      A Tenant is an Azure Active Directory...and the tenant has nothing to do with a storage account. The storage accounts are connected to subscriptions.
      What you can do:
      you can write a script that basically does a robocopy from storage account 1 into storage account 2...or you can use built in feature of Geo-Replication
      but if your concern is that an Azure Subscription or and Azure AD Tenant can be locked by ransomware...that isn't how Azure works.
      So lets start at the beginning. let me know what you are protecting...blob storage data a VM...or something else
      😊

      @@AzureAcademy many thanks for the fast and detailed reply :) My sight is, that i want prevent dataloss in a case of ransomware. Since a.e. my account is infected, it got read and write access. It could lock all backups and prevent recovery. Even when i'm using a second account, could be the risk high on my sight. How would you solve that case? So that backups are protected?

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      I assume you mean VM backups...so the first question is which backup software do you use?
      In Azure the native solution users Azure Backup.
      This has features like soft delete and MFA to help protect the backup data.
      So if your workload is a VM in Azure that is how I would do it.
      If your workload is outside of Azure you can still use Azure Backup inside the windows OS and it will store that data in Azure where you have the same protections

      @@AzureAcademy is it safe from randomware threads? so if a user is infected, that not all drive would be encrypted by that?

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      The storage in Azure Backup is offline so YES the backups are safe from ransomware.

    any backup for office365? or Microsoft365?

    • @AzureAcademy
      @AzureAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the question Fbifido! Azure and Office365 are both Microsoft clouds...but they are not the same cloud. Azure backup cannot protect office365 at this time.
      Office365 is a cloud based software as a service offering...the apps don’t need to be backed up and as for your data, use OneDrive to store your files.

    Sorry to say that I really struggle with your black background of the Azure portal.

      Thank you for the feedback.
      I’m very sorry that this is a distraction in learning Azure.
      Unfortunately I use dark themes on everything since I stare at a computer for 16 or so hours a day
      The white just kills my eyes
      If you have another suggestion I am totally willing to try it

      @@AzureAcademy How about just for the demo you set it to the default Azure colours. I am an avid Azure follower and watch hundreds of Azure videos on UA-cam, Pluralsight, Lynda, .....etc, and you are the only one with this black background as far as I can remember. Of-course it is totally up to you what you use and I am merely suggesting what will be a better experience for your followers, however I could be mistaken and it really is your prerogative to display what you think is right. You are providing an amazing helpful videos to the community and I want to thank you for your goodwill in trying to help promote this amazing technology. Best wishes.

      After asking a dozen polls over years the popularity of dark theme has risen to over 80%
