There were many interesting things in this conversation, but there were even more things that Lucy was about to say but didn’t get to, because she was cut off. I really wanted to hear them, and the constant interjections were very frustrating as a listener. If I can offer some constructive criticism, I’d say that, in an interview, the guest should really be the focus. If Fara wants to speak more from her own experience/perspective, a show with a co-host, rather than a guest, is a better format for that. But even more importantly, Fara should make an effort to get out her whole question in one go, patiently listen to the guest’s full response (which may include an invitation for her to speak again!), and then take it from there with a looser back-and-forth, including follow-up questions, until it’s time to move on to the next topic. This simple structure would really improve the product for the audience. I don’t want to be too harsh because I know there’s a relationship here and also that Fara has her own wealth of experience to speak from, but this felt a little unprofessional. Understandable in a second career! I hope Fara will take some of the feedback in this comment section to improve going forward. Again, some great stuff in here and thanks for featuring the incomparable Lucy Bronze.
Interesting comment. I am quite often enraged by interviewers who interrupt and dominate their guests but I didn't feel that once during this conversation. Fara and Lucy have a great rapport, and I've never heard Lucy speak so eloquently. Your view is obviously valid but personally I didn't feel frustrated at all.
Good point regarding Hayes' teams insistence on rest whereby intensity is lowered and sacrificed. Reminds me of the UCL semi-final game vs Bompastor's Lyon where this was very visible. Cuthbert took a beating in the midfield and played out her skin because of will, and Leupolz was overwhelmed and left with a bloody face. Good informative interview - please consider allowing the guest to finish her answers and not cut into her answers.
Fara USA here , just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of yours for a few years now. I hope to see you in a coaching position soon. Or a commentator on women’s games. GOOD LUCK!!
Best ever English player: 3 time WSL winner, 3 Time la liga and division 1 feminine winner, 5 women's champions winner and a coincidence her and fellow defender Virgil Van Dijk were both crowned Uefa Player of the year, and finishing 2nd in the Ballon d'or Rankings in 2019
Fara must love Lucy coming to play at Chelsea? I watched Barcelona since she went there and was shocked she left for an English club. I expected the next move would be NWSL.
@DerekLangdon-w9e There are several trophies she has not won in NWSL. They are aiming to copy UWCL in the Americas and had a Summer Cup with Mexican teams this year. There is also the money and the lifestyle and no winter games. What is there at Chelsea she has not won before? I did not think Lucy would enjoy London life. I was wrong.
Fatigue and games played clearly matter with ACLs and the fact that so many women's professional players are consistently on international duty and so integral to those teams, there just isn't proper recovery. That paired with inconsistent facilities and pitch conditions (women's sides still aren't consistently on the best pitches!), fewer training staff because the operations for the women's sides are smaller, training programs that have just been copy and pasted from men's teams, and any physical differences (which aren't as as big as some people think), you get what we're seeing. The social side, the resources, investment, and backend support, is a *massive* part of it that not enough people acknowledge in these conversations. Yes, women, on average, are smaller than men, which mean smaller tendons, BUT I bet if you were to see the proportional stress based on body weight and size on them, you wouldn't see much difference from the men. It's a part of it, but not the whole story, which is why solving the issue is going to be complex.
The discussion around 40 minutes is especially fascinating - the problem is that this might be where diversity and inclusion suffers. If you need a bridge between youngsters to seniors, girls whose parents can afford it will get in individual coaches. You see it already. There will be less and less working class players coming through
Lyon don’t play anything like Pep. Pep has never just “thrown the best players out there and let them figure it out”. Pep is incredibly meticulous oh how his players play no matter who they are so I do think that’s inaccurate

Would’ve been nice if Fara actually let Lucy speak 🙂↕️
I admire Lucy Bronze, both as a person as well as football player.

I notice this as well. Your comment is so well said 👏🏼 thank you 😊
Well put. Would have loved to get more from Lucy
Great interview! I'm always intrigued to hear Lucy talk.
maybe let Lucy finish answering your question first?

I appreciate vid, but I also agree with latest comments. Lucy has a lot of insight/knowledge to offer if you allow her to answer and elaborate.

Loved this interview, thanks Fara
Would love to hear more from Lucy she is really insightful
We need to hear more Lucy Bronze anecdotes & funny stories. I bet she has tons! 😁
Fantastic interview. My favourite pundit and my favourite player. 😊
Wonderful interview but I really wosh the interviewer had let Lucy talk more.
Loved this
Love from the US 💙
Fantastic interview. Lucy is a world class player
Interviewing Lucy is a Tough job then!
🤭
The confidence of the coaches who used to work together while at Lyon
Lucy's constant best players: Marozsan & Walsh.

Lucy ❤
Would be good if Farah stopped talking over lucy! Let the woman speak jheez
Fara must love Lucy coming to play at Chelsea? I watched Barcelona since she went there and was shocked she left for an English club. I expected the next move would be NWSL.
What could Lucy win in the NWSL? She came home to win the Champions league with Chelsea!
Fara is the best ❤
Thank you
Entre el acento y la velocidad de habla, mi cerebro 🤯. Por favor, añadan subtítulos en ingles😕.
Whats the point interviewing someone if you arent going to let them speak

Yes, how to play at right back without charging upfield.
Next time, please have Fara speak slower and re-adjust her mic. Her voice is muffled, mumbling, and way too fast.
Lucy's amazing!
Amazing getting paid for being 💩💩💩💩
Lyon don’t play anything like Pep. Pep has never just “thrown the best players out there and let them figure it out”. Pep is incredibly meticulous oh how his players play no matter who they are so I do think that’s inaccurate
Yeah what she’s talking about is more Ancelotti if anything
She's liking Pep to how Barca play which is methodical, not Lyon.
@@elaineph no she likened pep to Lyon not Barca
@@henryleke3315 Lucy: Jonas (Barca ex manager) is proper, like mini Pep...
Maybe watch the interview again. It's at minute 13:45
