My earliest memories of the game are about 4 players, we only ever got to see England games on TV at that point, Kelly Smith, Karen Carney, Lucy Bronze and the amazing Fran Kirby, all stood out to me, determination skill and the drive not to give up, what role models for girls today

The product is not good on the pitch though, the thing that needs to be done is womens and mens football should be totally separate not compared especially by women! Then and only then will you see the true reality of the popularity it has ,also exciting is a stretch.

Problem plain and simply is the level is no where near mens football. Its just not fun to watch. Also I watched the euros and the level difference between the top 4 women's team, or even top 2 compared to the rest is absolutely massive. I will say womens football has hugely improved compared to 6 or 7 years ago though. Lastly just say men watch mens football, and women watch women's football. Its rare to find women who watch football every week compared to i would say the majority of men watch football. People watched the euros but everyone is interested in a final of anything. Your problem is you keep comparing it to mens football. Expecting to get the same as men when you are no where near or ever will be at that level. You have to face hard truths.

What womens soccer needs is some Qatari or Saudi investment fund to buy them and pump in £3bn of oil money.

Thank you for a fantastic interview, I love watching these ones. Lots of it resonated with me, especially the getting fitter instead of losing weight. Fran is an inspiration.

Quite superb episode of this always enjoyable podcast & not just because Fran Kirby was involved. I don't have much knowledge of the issues dealing with fat shaming in the women's game so it was quite an eye opener for me to hear Fran & yours comments regarding this subject. Also the topics around injuries and recovery were also very interesting but the most educational topic for me was around the refuelling discussion. Would it be possible for you to go further on this fascinating topic in a future episode? Thank and keep up the great work 👍
