Twenty years ago we called this 'book cloth' and the tool a 'rotary cutter'. But everything keeps changing, the hand sewing I did since the 50's is now a new thing called 'slow stitching'. I shake my head... This is lovely, your videos are the best.
Thank you, I remember asking about the slow stitching as thought it must be something different lol. Good name though as is pretty slow lol x
Slow but beautiful... there's a lot of love and dedication in something that takes time.
So lovely!!!
I used the birdie collage tissue last year on wood slices and put fine white glitter on top and glued cord on for hangers and decorated my Christmas tree with them.
They turned out beautifully.
I will try to make the journal this year.
Thank you for sharing!!!❤❤❤
If I lose inspiration I just watch your videos ❤️
Very nice! Thanks for sharing your process 😊
Gorgeous! Very classy!
Gorgeous covers, I’ll definitely give this technique a go. If you put cornflour in a cotton sock you’ll have a dauber to wipe over anything sticky or static ☺️
I LOVE this technique and I can hardly wait to give it a try! Thank you for the tip using the corn starch to remove some of the stickiness - brilliant!
I haven’t tried the fabric paper technique, but I will, now! Your work is just gorgeous!
You have a great eye, simply lovely ❤
Oh, that's really a great book cover. One where you can hold your hand all the time and feel how it feels.
Those turned out great!! Blessings and Hugs 🤗
Wow. You make everything look so easy. I need to try this for sure 💕

Cool process and simpler than ANYTHING I have found by other artist. Saved and shared. 🤗🐞🥰
Cornstarch for stickiness- who knew?💝💐💝
Or talc but I prefer corn starch as not keen on perfume talc. Migraine might occur lol. X

You talk about the lumps...like my moms gravy 🤣
This is going to be my next project! Love the process. I was having a little giggle when you were trying to think of the name of the rotary cutter😄. And I thought to myself, there you go again, talking to the screen and Andrea cannot hear you! Thanks for sharing.
Lol I know I’m going to start labelling everything, you are not shouting loud enough lol. Xx
Another successful Tuesday
Thank you
Lovely x
Rotary cutter or pizza cutter lol. Love this idea. I am working on a Christmas journal so might give this a try for it. 🤗🤗🤗
Lol yes remembered after the video. I think 8 need to start labelling everything lol x
WOW, love it, will try it! Thanks Andrea x
Thank you when I done this last time I used the TM collage medium personally better results with watered down PVA. ( not knocking the collage medium as love it but better for smaller projects.) x
@@artymaze It is a bit pricy, I think the normal Matt medium is ok too...I need to compare them but pretty sure they are similar xx
Yes I keep forgetting to try that as always use it on my mixed media projects. I buy by the gallon lol. X
@@artymaze LOLOL, yes I expect you use it though...lol xxx
That turned into a relly pretty journal cover. Thank you for the tutorial.
First watching your channel ❤️
What was the brown stuff you put on your cloth. i love watching you make things . you are so good .i would love to know what you use ty bonni
Love everything you do!!! You inspire me to try different things!!! If I did not use the Patty Stainz would it still be pliable and soft looking?Thank you for sharing !!!
Thank you and yes most definitely x
Just watched again to remind how to do this, mother Tim holtz tissue looks great! Did you make these into journals? Xx
Very beautiful and they are adorable. I would like to know where to purchase that tissue roll from. Thank you
Hi, it’s one of Tim Holtz you could try Amazon. I’m not sure where you are from so just google search Tim holtz tissue paper x
Cool idea. Can't really see those markers on the tag. I would use Posca paint pens to color in and a little white to highlight..make it a little dimensional. Was that black gesso you used? I've never used that at all. Christmassy with a lil gold glitter.
Thank you the pens actually worked fine and are quite vibrant must of been lighting. (I like post a pens though) I didn’t use anything black was it the stainz by patty pockets you are referring to? X
ever add a drop of ochre to it to make it look beeswaxy?
Oooh, a new thing to try! Printed tissue paper, where to purchase in USA? Lovely!
I was wondering the same thing ... I love it!
I got some at Hobby Lobby.
I think it’s readily available in the US definitely more choice than we get her. It’s Tim Holtz. X
@@artymaze thank you!
What wonderful covers. I love the one with the birds. Is it tissue paper that you are working with? If so,
where to you buy such beautiful ones? TFS
Thank you , yes tissue paper by Tim Holtz I got them off Amazon last year x
Thank you for this video. What was that you placed down for the inside of the cover. What do you recommended.
Hi, I was just a coffee stained file folder, some coffee stained card will also work. X
Curious if you or anyone else has tried doing same basic thing but only doing the glue on the top layer? If so, does it give same effect or different? Just curious since the paper is so thin. heading into work or I would try it right now myself. Lolol. Thanks for all you do!!
What I can foresee is that you would have to saturate the top to make sure it went through which could cause the tissue to disintegrate, with soaking the bottom layer you
I like what you have done. My question is where did you get the birdie tissue from? I simply love it and need some.
Thank you, it’s Tim holtz and I got it on Amazon x
Thank you so much for your quick response. I'm new subscribe.
Did you heat dry your fabric covers or air dry? I’m at aw! Love it Andrea
Thank you, I put them on my little heater I don’t tell people to do that for obvious reasons. Mine is one of those radiator types which I find quite safe. X
I thought that I was the messiest worker i know!
Where did you get the tissue. Awesome
Thank you, it’s a Tim holtz one so just search on Amazon .x
Gday from australia, love the rolls of tissue paper, where if possible could i find something like that, what store in UK did you buy it from?, as my mother in law is in uk, she could get some and send it over…thank you , have an awesome day/night xxx
Thank you I got them from Amazon they are Tim HOLTZ x
Excuse me ,what do you do to stick the rice paper and then on top to protect it, could you tell me the name?is disstess matte, vintage, multi medium gloss ,crazing?
I used PVA ( glue) watered down, then to finish Stainz by patty pockets. X
@@artymaze thank you 😊
W here did you buy your patterned tissue paper?
If it’s Tim HOLTZ then it’s art from the heart or amazon x
What are you spreading with the paintbtush?
I did say in the video it was watered down glue (pva). 2 parts glue 1 part water unless your glue is runny. The consistency of single cream if that helps x
