My bike mechanic had no idea how to set this up, I had plenty of shitfting issues, was able to fit it perfectly myself thanks to this video. Thank you!
The video is really great, thanks for that! There is one difference to the manual and other videos I don t understand, though. Usually, first thing that s supposed to be done is getting the outer plate “over” the chainring by turning the L screw clockwise, then getting it parallel with the inner screw. How come you can start with getting them Parallel? Did the derailleur happen to fall in the right place so that it was already “over” the chainring? Would be great if someone could help out!
Thanx for this! I've just stripped and rebuilt my winter bike today but the thing I couldn't do was set up my front mech. Your video is easy to follow and after being defeated today I am confident I can tackle it another day.
thanks for sharing it. my shifting was perfect (new bike) but after 3k km the front derraileur started to dont shift properly, but still shifts (but with noise of the chain and its not "crispy"). i look for a barrel adjuster but on the front there is no. shall i try that adjustment screw for the alignment you just showed? im pretty sure its a minor adjustment that is needed. or i will need to pull the cable pehaps? thanks
Super demo as always. My winter bike is running 11 speed r7000 with a 12 speed Ultegra chainset. My front derailleur on this bike now needs replacing. Would this r7100 12 speed FD work with Ultegra 12 speed chainset and 11 speed chain and rear derailleur? Any advice greatly apprecisted.
I have previously installed the front derailleur and after riding several thousand KM, the deraileur needs to be adjusted as I am guessing the cable has stretched. . During the initial install, I made adjustments to the limit screws. I was wondering if I install a new cable, if I should go back to the procedure an initial cable install and set the limit screws back to their initial value? If so, how do I know where the hi and low screws should be set.

Yes the derailleur will work! I would also use a 12 speed chain on that setup.
Thank you.

How many miles did it last?
Brilliant
