What a week! Sometimes nothing goes right 🫣 LOOKS like we have some tractor maintenance ahead of us…Show Porter and his dump truck some love in the comments- love ya pack 💛
I'm confused. Why not keep the washer/dryer in the room you do not use? Why not use all that closet space for your clothes? You need to get to your clothes daily, so I would think you would dedicate that space to your clothes, which has been disorganized to go through. You do not do laundry daily, so I would think the other room would be the best spot for the washer/dryer.
Washer/Dryer is loud and needs venting. Why put it in your Primary Closet? I Iove your channel and you two have made such progress on your land and in your cabin. The OCD in me though can’t help noticing the noticeable amount of unfinished projects like not completing your windows frames, moldings, ceiling, lighting, outlets and kitchen counter. The cabin will look amazing and more cozy if you completed the interior. Clearing “clutter” is the first step towards having good Feng Shui. Clutter has a negative impact on your space, blocking the flow of chi. It can drain you of energy and make you feel uncomfortable. Good Luck Pack
When you think things are going wrong, go back and look at an aerial view that you took when yo u first got there and compare it to to your place now. You guys have done an amazing job building your home and a more amazing job documenting it. Thank you for your channel and bringing us along on your adventure.
I wanted to mention that you are both adorable. Aside from winning smiles, it shows even more when you talk about each other. I first came upon you both while watching Ambition Strikes. I never had the experience of turning work into a fun project. The four of you building a roof for the container storage/workshop area was more fun than work. I most enjoy living vicariously from my easy chair and watching you in N.S. and Riley and wife (sorry I forgot her name but, at 84 I'm lucky to remember his, let alone my own). I totally understand that the cost of property was the deciding factor on where you would set up housekeeping. I wish you continued success in this great adventure. Best, Jack Klugman (aka=klugmonster) 😀
Just a suggestion, if you need to compact soil, just look at the tyre tracks from the tractor. If you can wheel roll it, you don't need to stamp it down.
Great show this week. Loved the washer/dryer/closet install. So, so happy to see Colin and Paige! Glad to know they are living the van life. You ladies rock!!!!
Paint that shelf box next to washer dryer with mold resistant paint. Could get moist back there, and lesson learned from our build that plywood is impossible to clean mold off ❤
Hope Porter gets his truck fixed soon and you can get on with making your front lawn drain easier but always you back up plans and the closet space is coming along great. Just need the rain to stay away. Happy lives in the woods ❤
My thoughts and prayers for Porter. I hope everything gets sorted with his equipment. You girls are rocking the DIY closet. Looks good. That Track saw looks fantastic. 💚
We are grateful to have you spend your Sunday morning with us. We are safe, it was the worst thunder lightening rain storm we have ever experienced. 💛🐾
Congratulations on getting a washer & dryer. It's great to be able to get clothes nice and clean! And can we talk about how well the laundry "room" shelves fit! 😊 So with all that rain, were the forest fires quelled to some degree? Certainly the air/smoke got washed! Thanks Crystal & Jasmine, Bella and Izzy too, for getting another video out to the world. 💕💕💕💕
Sending lots of woo and love to Porter and all the equipment that everything goes smoothly and as efficiently as possible. I really enjoy your videos and all the amazing projects that you've completed. You gals are AWESOME !!!
What a mixture in this video. Seeing Crystal and Jaz tackle any project is always interesting. Watching you both move the washer and dryer, I was concerned about Crystal's back. Now I know why you have underground water supply. Love to you both from Mike. ❤❤
Maintenance. A quick tip or two... The quick connect Handles on the kubota Can be a bit rough. Especially if you don't keep up on the recommended hourly greasing... Remember to use the low speed grease On your loader And backhoe zirk fittings. High speed grease gun for p t o applications. Use a piece of 1-1/4" schedule 40 pipe on the lever handles for the quick disconnect On your loader. Doesn't have to be long, just something to round off those edges and give you a bit more leverage. Also 1" heavy Clear Tubing works well for Softer handles as it fits snug. But won't offer you any extra leverage. A 2' foot chunk of 1-1/4" Pipe could go a long ways... Handy. Love the pack...
Good work on this week's project. Hope Porter gets his equipment fixed soon. Random question: Are the Pack chat vids going to be a regular thing or just dependent on what else you have going on? Thanks for a little bit of Sunday joy :)
I remember watching a ton of permaculture videos and reading books and everyone was like, "Wait a full year so you can see where water and wind tend to flow." A year is a long time though 😂 If I had waited a year before planting my orchard then I could have saved all the work in digging out the retention pond for water drain off after learning that we almost never get enough rain to justify it haha. I'm sure you'll redesign even more things over the years!
So nice to see you both - I was thinking of you a couple of days ago and wanted to message you when Nova Scotia received 200/300 mm of rain on top of what you have already had and some flash flooding - I hope you are all ok 👍🏻 ❤ - much love from your PEI neighbor!
If you unstuck the washer and dryer and make them a side by side .. you would have way more hanging room and you could make a folding table on top of the washer and dryer
I'm amazed that they didn't vent that toilet the same way they used to vent the old propane furnaces the ones that had the pilot light in that the exhaust was a pipe that in the middle and it was an outside surrounding pipe that sucked cool air from the outside so it all came from the same outlet that went outside it was an inlet and an exhaust just the exhaust went out of your trailer further than your inlet did but you only had to put one hole in your RV They should've never got rid of those old furnaces 'cause they didn't take electric fan all it was was a pilot light and propane to run it I still got a couple of them in my shop old ones I kept the little tiny small one
The way you two get along and joke is such a bright spot of my sunday (and Wednesdays now). I have had a less than optimal week. However, after watching you two and the pups of course I dont feel so heavey hearted. Does that make sense? not because you have so many obsticles as well but the way you both deal with it is beautiful. Your individual resilence and outlook plus how you both are there for each other gives me second hand excitement for you. Keep up the amazing work, videos, projects, adventure and love. Also its great to see Porter again!!
Waiting for the Momanager to visit y’all 😂 Hope the washer dryer makes your lives feeling complete at the cabin/ home and that it is securely installed as some people say with water leaking some day hope it never happens!!! See y’all next Sunday funday 💛💛💛💛
You guys are amazing. I love your enthusiasm. You remind of myself, once owned 350 acres where I raised Texas Longhorn Cattle. I designed and drew blueprints for our house - 4500 s. ft. on three levels. I also designed the barn and working pens. I bought and raised 82 head of cattle. I mostly worked by myself as my husband worked in town. I came up with my personal saying. "Hysteria is the mother of invention." Keep up the good work, the enthusiasm, the dedication and the love.
Although things did not pan out the way you anticipated, it was a very entertaining video nonetheless! Hope Clementine is feeling better. I'm looking forward to next weeks video and podcast! Have a great week!! ✌🏾🙏🏾❤🙂
Hi Ladies, I'm a 73 yr old guy who has done a ton of building in my past.. I just finished watching all your vids from the beginning and it makes me feel like I'm there with you and biting my tongue as you attempt to do something you've never have and experiencing all that you have. My biggest question is how are you affording/funding everything your doing? I'm in the middle of finishing the inside of a barn shell with two lofts (16x40) as a one bedroom home for my wife and me and living in a very rural area of Texas. I look forward every Sunday as to what's coming next.. Love y'all and keep up the great work!
Your very own washer and dryer! Installing those appliances in my own home was MY initiation into adultery. I mean, "adulthood." That was 45 years ago. Right now I'm reminded that I have to move my clothes from the washer to the dryer. Great video and some lol moments. Thank you for the work you put into sharing your lives with the pack. 🐾
You need to build a shed / house or lavish barn hybrid. - to store the tractor, and add a loft for the family and friends. But heat your garage with firewood ;) - you’ll have a space to do all them oil changes , chop wood, house some bigger plants/patio plants and stuff in the off season even - a she shed, but big, with some accommodations for guest.
Keep a check on hydraulic fluid when it gets low it makes a really harsh whining noise. I always keep 2 5 gallon buckets of spare hydraulic fluid. The unit most likely has a hydraulic fluid filter that may need changing because that can make it act like it’s low on fluid or winging also. If you’ve got a grinding metal on metal sound, need to find an address it ASAP. When I was running a backhoe daily every morning, we checked hydraulic fluid we greased all the fittings on the backhoe I always liked the red synthetic grease made to go in to salt water will give you the best protection and start turning black you need to put more grease they do make battery operated, grease guns, but get a bag of grease fittings because they go bad, you remove the old, scrape it with a nail put the new fitting on and you’re off to the races. Remember on the pens you get for replacements they should not be hard and steel. They should be softer so they were out and the parts on the backhoe, and normally has two or three search pins. You can always get by with a longer pin, and order the correct size and put it in later you can’t get by with a pin that’s too short, since these are fairly Soft steel They are very easy to cut and make with the tools you have.
I’m happy to hear you have weathered the storm. I saw snippets about it last night. I’m in Vegas. I love the look of everything coming together. ❤️🌻🌻❤️🌻🌻❤️
Saw your insta. So glad you are safe. My friend who helps with Catastrophic Disaster repair left Ontario at 4:30 this morning to get his team on the ground stabilizing and emergency service. Take care and be safe. ?? How is the front lawn??
As a professional mover for more then 20 years. Let me give you an easy way to move things on wood floors. ...................... All you need is a big blanket or comforter . Slide it under the item you want to move and BOOM it will glide across the floor. Also the heavier the item the thicker the blanket is the rule of thumb..... Hope this helps. :)
Make sure you have plenty of ventilation around the washer dryer. Dryers get hot and collect lint so are prone to fires, you need ventilation and access to clean ducts out. Hope Porter catches a break soon. Keep building you're doing great.
I was born and raised in Dartmouth (N.S) in the 60's and we had our washer and dryer in the kitchen. We also had a very good clothesline. Hope you are not in Hants County and dealing with massive flooding. Be safe
Beautiful closet & laundry area. As to the rains, I have been watching from afar & feel bad for those in Halifax & areas wondering if you had been negatively affected. Stay safe ladies.
I was a bit surprised you put the starlink so low.. we live on a remote part of Kauai and have ours set up high in case of heavy rain/ floods … your both amazing and your property has really changed for the better and looks amazing… just make those changes with the draining
Nice to see you guys thought about a washer/dryer and it finally showed up. But I am a little confused about the outside shower;did you not just build one next to your spa tubs ?
I enjoy watching you both build an incredible homestead. I can be depressed and then watch a couple like you guys and I feel better. Your relationship is a beautiful story. You take on challenges that few have attempted.
Place is coming together nicely. You are learning heaps of valuable skills. The best and really the only footing for an outdoor shower is a slat board base. Just various bits of wood nailed or screwed to three pieces of stud wood will do. But best to use treated timber so it can stand up to the wet dirt it will sit on. Plus the weight of people standing on the boards. The boards should be spaced with about 1/4inch between them for drainage. Then sit the whole foot board on some of the gravel. Standing on bare gravel with wet feet is not comfortable at all. What if you went in to help Porter fix his equipment? Perhaps you would just be goffas, but at least you are showing up. 👍😄 Did you add a vent to the drier? It must vent to the outside of the building. Use some old poly pipe or a bit of gal downpipe to run a vent through the wall. The wall holds the outside end in place but it must have a drop down flap to exclude critters and snow or rain. The inside end just joins to the drier. But it might mean you have to reconfigure the back side of your new shelf unit. Best to do now before adding clothes.
Just FYI. Next time you need to move something across a smooth surface like the washer dryer combo - put them on an small rug and let the rug slide it across the floor.
Hi putting the washer and dryer in the bedroom closed is not an good idea you are going to pike up problems with mold , damp and smell the clothes are going to get an miff smell especially in winter needs to be in ventilated area the washer will always have water that stays behind after washing and spinning the clothes.Thats why it is better have an laundry room or put it in the kitchen where it is more ventilate, if you don't have space maybe build an small laundry room on the deck or attach to the house.
Well, the upside of things going wrong, is you learn a lot about maintaining your homestead so in the future, it will be much more simple and no more confusion when repairs need to be done. Hopefully, Porter will have things turn around for him and he will be back in business very soon, too.. The laundry closet looks great! Are you going to build a separate closet for hanging clothes in another area of your house? Maybe a sliding door to go in front of this closet so it is quieter when you are using the machines. Just what you need, viewers adding projects to your list, right? but the door can then match your walls and I think you will both enjoy the esthetic. See you next Sunday, and good job navigating through all the bumps in the road this week.
Mom knows best! I have to give it to you to keep motivated during that storm. I think we were getting the same weather here in NJ USA. Finally, broke yesterday and humidity lifted. We were at 98% humidity.
I don't know if you have any but if not, one of the most useful things to gave is a chain with hooks on the ends. Its so easy to wrap the chain around something heavy that needs to be moved, hook the other end to the tractor and voila, impossible to stretch or break them. You can use to pull up fence posts etc etc.
Laundry and shelving looks amazing 👍. I hope Porter isn't down for too long with his dump truck and can financially recover quickly. It's not cheap for repairs.
Glad you were able to make so much progress despite so much going wrong. It's good to have indoor projects available for when you can't work on the outdoor projects. Can't wait to see your new lawn. Whenever you are ale to do it. Love you both... Bella and Izzy too. 🌈🧡💚💛💙💖💜💋
Porter!!!! 👏👏The two of you make my Sundays. I get up, make my cup of tea and sit down to watch my favorite girls. It's so nice you now have a washer and dryer.
This morning's NPR news podcast informed me about the torrential rains and flash flooding in your Nova Scotia area. I hope since the filming of this video, the weather has improved. Congratulations on your washer and dryer that's the best thing you could ever have (after your incinerating toilet of course) and how cool is that closet? I love your videos and will expand to your podcast. Your vlogs give life to fueling my fantasy dream of homesteading and off grid living. I enjoy watching your partnership. Everything is going wrong, but with your skills, smarts and kindness, you always make it go right.
Wow that's a lot of rain, glad the sun has come out again for you. To save space in your closet why not get a washer/dryer in one or have them side by side so you don't lose your hanging space? Hi Porter hope you get yr truck fixed.
Finaly, a tool/equipment I haven't used. The box looks just great. Getting up and fixing the toilet before coffee is completly heroic! Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
I’ve watched you gorgeous girls for a few months now and binge watched a lot of your videos. However, I’d never seen your very first video! You were both so cute and the video, despite it being your first one, was wonderful!! Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved, but mostly that you still look like the two adventurous, loving, cute souls who started this journey. Remember love will always be there when everything else disappears. That’s what I appreciate most about your videos - your love for each other, your love for friends and your care for everyone else in your life 🩷🩷🤩 Lots of love from Australia 🦘🇦🇺🩷
Jaz & Crystal your positive energy is very infectious indeed 😁 sending tons of positive energy to Porter and his Dump Truck. All that rain must have taken care of those wildfires. .. Catch ya on the flip side .. 🐾🐾 Paws Up 🐾🐾 .. Cheers☕☕☕
WOW what a week! Glad yall are pushing thru to getting the indoor projects done while its raining outside 🤔 Sorry Porter, for having a rough week. Be safe and encourage each other thru the process.
I don’t know if it’s too late for this; but I’d suggest a slide out plank/ counter between the washer and dryer you can either put your laundry basket on, or use to fold laundry before putting it on the shelves 😊
When moving heavy items. If you can was a blanket to slide the item where you need it. Put the item on the blanket and pull up to as to how to get said item on blanket. I moved a piano that way. And a refrigerator. Look the work y’all have. Stay safe.
I live in the UK and have both my washing machine and tumble dryer in the kitchen. It's standard to have them in our kitchens unless you have a utility room. Another great video ladies. Who needs a man to renovate a cabin, when youve got vanwives showing all the young girls and ladies watching this video, that they can do anything they want, if you believe in yourself, and take time and dedication, with a positive, can do attitude and do something like Jazz & Crystal bringing a bare shell log cabin it back to life, with love and dedication ❤
So sorry that Porter is having major issues with equipment that he relies on to make his living. Wish you better fortunes in the near future. And I hope you gals are able to get that toilet working properly again. There was so much happening in this video but you made everything seem like FUN!
I absolutely love that y’all put the washer and dryer in the closet. That is GENIUS! Now you can take the clothes out and, bam put them away! Doing this to mine now! ❤
vented drainage pipe it should be a V shape ditch cover pipe with rock so water drain away soil on top, along the road make a drain to river to help. hope it helps
Would definitely recommend a tray for the washer dryer in the closet… In addition to washer failures, it’s useful even for catching the drippings when you clear the filter..
Another Awesome Video. I love Sundays because I get to see you two. You really need that guy from the 1990s who narrated almost all the movie trailers in that deep dramatic voice, "In a world, two woman found an utopia disguised as an abandoned cabin in a remote land with only plans to renovate. Two angels named Bella and Izzy were sent to keep them safe. They found defeat and triumphs alone the way and themselves, Drywall once feared is now conquered, and discovered something better than they could never image ... utopia oasis some doubted would ever exist and just being totally awesome. Coming to a theater near you this fall."
What a week - such a relief the toity's fixed, great closet, but poor Porter. When it rains it pours. Hope next week's nothing but sunshine and puppy dogs!
Every week I watch u guys I dream of living in the woods in Canada. Love that u get so much rain. Here in Australia some places we barely see the beautiful rain enjoy it xxx
Great job on the closet/Laundry. 😅 Concerning the Kubota tractor repairs are crazy expensive, only saving grace is that the older units used the engine as part of the frame, hence the phrase breaking the tractor. Stay positive, prayers for you both. 😊😊
What a week! Sometimes nothing goes right 🫣 LOOKS like we have some tractor maintenance ahead of us…Show Porter and his dump truck some love in the comments- love ya pack 💛
Porter is such a great guest....to bad he was not a permanent monthly guest.
I could watch y'all every day.
You should staple that screen, not tape it.
I'm confused. Why not keep the washer/dryer in the room you do not use? Why not use all that closet space for your clothes? You need to get to your clothes daily, so I would think you would dedicate that space to your clothes, which has been disorganized to go through. I feel so bad for sweet Porter😢. He needs a fundraiser to help gix his equipment ❤. The closet is looking awesome! Fantastic design Crystal! ❤️🐾🐾❤️

We love the way you think. Always a silver lining! So happy to have you in our pack.💛🌻
Love your laundry closet. Porter is an awesome friend. Always helping when needed. You girls have a wonderful week!
Hey Nancy, we are so happy to have laundry in our cabin. Not hooked up yet but soon! Porter is the Best! 💛🐾
Look... it's the "we can do anything" Vanwives!
You two make the hardest and saddest scenarios FUN! Keep up the fantastic work!💛💛
Wow, thanks for the big compliments. Fun always makes any project better. 💛🐾
Are you venting the tumble dryer in your bedroom? You’ll need to vent to prevent mould and damp :)
I was just going to say this or hoped someone would’ve mentioned this :)

Happy to have you following our journey.💛🐾

18:02 for moving heavy objects around, get a hand truck. Hand truck is very useful for moving appliances. furniture any thing heavy.

We appreciate the kudos! 💛🐾
Porter is the sweetest ❤ I love his little guest appearances. What a cutie X
To the person reading this, even though I don't know you. I wish you the best of what life has to offer 🙏 🕊🤗❤️
I love the drawing, I love seeing the sketch of your vision so that we can compare it to how it looks as it comes to life!
It was nice to see Porter. So sorry you are having so many problems. Hang in there. Things will be better soon. Have a great week to all

I sympathize with weeks like that. Thank goodness you are good at working thru things together. Shout out to Porter!
Porter, you are a good man! Everyone should be so lucky to know someone like you!
Saw your insta. So glad you are safe. My friend who helps with Catastrophic Disaster repair left Ontario at 4:30 this morning to get his team on the ground stabilizing and emergency service. Take care and be safe. ?? How is the front lawn??
..and the moisture in the bedroom when your running the dryer ;)...
Thanks for caring and sharing with us. Happy Sunday.💛🐾
@@Vanwives no problem. Massively impressed with the 4 of you. Dogs work the hardest!
Actually, both sets of my grandparents & my paternal grandmother's sister's had their laundry machines in the kitchen. Ours was in the basement.
Wow that’s rain! Yes we have washing machines and dryers in the kitchen. Or a utility room xx
But I am a little confused about the outside shower;did you not just build one next to your spa tubs ?
they absolutely need 3 shower facilities, and more hang out/relax spaces, it will become a sport, rotate from one to the other...
Did you add a vent to the drier? It must vent to the outside of the building. Use some old poly pipe or a bit of gal downpipe to run a vent through the wall. The wall holds the outside end in place but it must have a drop down flap to exclude critters and snow or rain. The inside end just joins to the drier. But it might mean you have to reconfigure the back side of your new shelf unit. Best to do now before adding clothes.
Just FYI. Next time you need to move something across a smooth surface like the washer dryer combo - put them on an small rug and let the rug slide it across the floor.
You don't scratch your floor
Yay, A New Video, From Thee Bestest Two People Everrrr... Love You Crystal and Jazmyn, keep on making Awesome Content👌
Thank you, will pass on to Porter. Happy Sunday.💛🐾
Glad you were able to make so much progress despite so much going wrong. It's good to have indoor projects available for when you can't work on the outdoor projects. Can't wait to see your new lawn. Whenever you are ale to do it. Love you both... Bella and Izzy too. 🌈🧡💚💛💙💖💜💋
Right! You just have to make the best of what you are dealt. We learn more from the things that go wrong then the things that go right. 💛🐾
My Aussie love chasing rocks too!!! Best of FUN!!
Finaly, a tool/equipment I haven't used. The box looks just great. Getting up and fixing the toilet before coffee is completly heroic! Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Yay! washer and dryer❤ but yes in the kitchen under the serving window with granite counter on top then you have room for your clothes 😊
Kudos to your editor. Great job every week. Also, Jazz, how strong you are. That dryer and you doing it alone for a little bit. Wow.
I have that same tracksaw and I have to say it's my favorite tool!
Poor Porter! We love him, and have been saying prayers for everyone in Nova Scotia.
Yes Porter has being going thru a rough time. Thanks for caring about NS! 💛🐾
Cheers☕☕☕
Thank you for your kind words. We will pass on your message to Porter. 💛🐾
I love these ladies. They work so hard - a name for the tractor could be Cool-Bota!
The OCD in me wants to see a project finished. Lol. Like those ceilings. Keep up the good work.
Following your weather as my mom lives down your way. Hoping you stay safe.
Another wonderful video, so nice to see Colin again. Poor Porter, I hope things are better for him.🥰
Would definitely recommend a tray for the washer dryer in the closet… In addition to washer failures, it’s useful even for catching the drippings when you clear the filter..
Yes! We need to get that. Thank you :)
You two are hilarious 😂 to watch. Just love your two beautiful dogs.
Love you too. You both have gained so much knowledge. Proud of you too. Waiting for next Sunday.
What a week - such a relief the toity's fixed, great closet, but poor Porter. When it rains it pours. Hope next week's nothing but sunshine and puppy dogs!
We love the way you think! Sunshine and puppy dogs, we are ready!🌞🐾
I’m on Vancouver Island and where I live we haven’t had rain since April and we are plagued with forest fires. I wish we had rain.
Awesome 👌 Crystal also big shout out to Porter keep on keeping on.😊
can't get enough of you two...would be awesome experience to have what you two have developed...with help naturally...lots of hard work for happiness
