Watched a bit on the webcams and really like how they've lit the motion of Manston. Hope that will catch-on elsewhere as it looks a treat. Super vid, such a distinctive sound.
@ceanothus_bluemoon The lighting beneath the cladding is original Bulleid spec, designed for maintenance purposes. Thankfully, the crews have been using it liberally through the Polars for the aesthetic. Thank you
Fantastic sight and sound put in by Manston and Jenny sounded pretty good as well!! Little bit of sun there for you Matthew but I bet that was "a bit windy round the turntable" (that's one for the older radio listener!!). Be interesting to weigh up the financials between hiring in or running it yourself🤔🤔🤔
@bobingram6912 The pair really are a credit to their respective owners, and to Swanage, for the way they've turned them out. Always fantastic performers. A very fortunate patch of sun for Afflington. The shame was, conditions were perfectly still as Manston departed Corfe Castle, only for very strong gusts to arrive as it climbed up the common. Due to the Polar format being trademarked, it's not possible to run it exactly without incurring some heavy fees. Merry Christmas, and happy new year!
@TheSouthernerYTChannel This is why I follow your channel, you give an excellent in depth video description so that I know what's coming, then I get brilliant shooting in great locations with those five second "mindful moments" between shots. I also get a straightforward answer to my questions which helps me understand the inner workings of the heritage system. Thank you Matthew, you're a credit to the Tube👍👍👍👍👍 Keep it Southern, it'll always look and sound good!!!!! All the very best, have a good break and I look forward to another great year, let's hope for some more Sunshine Yellow!!!!
Thank you very much, Bob! The kind words are greatly received, and it's always nice to know that the effort is appreciated; it means more than you might think. This downtime has definitely been welcome, especially ahead of Rail200 next year. Another busy year on the rails to come. Best wishes to you too!
A shame indeed. On close inspection, the hard to reach areas still show some good signs of dirt, soot and grease; a good basis should they let '70 weather again.
Excellent photography! Sounds good, too. Nice even beat!
Thank you.
Swanage and SLL really do turn out their fleet well.

@@TheSouthernerYTChannel Thank you for that info! I love it!
No worries
Very nice video.
@@stuartaaron613 Thank you
Nice video :)
@@SimonTog Thank you
Lovely, nice to see her unweathered!
Makes a good change. Though the weathering isn't to everyones taste, I do hope they let '70 weather again through next year.

Shame they had to undo the weathering,
Understand why but still a shame
