- In this video, I test playing on 60Hz vs 144Hz vs 240Hz on Fortnite Battle Royale. I made a video similar to this about a year ago, but I mainly compared 144Hz to 240Hz. On top of that, I didn't actually go and try them out myself in the video. Rather, I just talked about my experiences on each of them. That's why today I wanted to compare 60 Hz vs 240 Hz in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3. Be aware though, UA-cam processes all the videos in 60FPS. That means even though my gameplay at 144Hz is 144 FPS, and 240Hz is 240 FPS, you will not be able to tell the difference yourself. Regardless, my reaction to each of them should tell you the full story. So, if you're looking for a full comparison between different monitors refresh rates as well as an in-depth explanation of 60Hz vs 144Hz vs 240Hz and if you should upgrade to one, then this is definitely the video for you. So I got a queston is hertz the same as fps? Like if you're playing on 60 hertz does that mean it's 60 fps or it's just the way the screen and gameplay is and the fps is way higher
Just so jerian knows, there is an advantage to using 240fps on 60hz. Essentially you get much less input lag, because your game is still refreshing 240 times per second however your monitor is only able to display 1 out of 4 of them. This means that there would be a slight difference to playing 60fps on 60hz and playing 240fps on 60hz
The fact that 240 fps on 60 hz has a slight difference than 60 fps on 60hz is true. The thing is though tat the game doesn't actually "refresh" the game 240 times, instead there is a much greater chance that the monitor will refresh right as the frame gets produced,resulting in you seeing things quicker.
PS:Go watch Linus Tech Tips and Techquickie. You can learn a lot of things about computers from these channels about computers in general.
The input lag on 240hz and 60hz (on 240fps) is almost the same. The input comes in when you lower your fps.

@itsJerian if you ever tr y this again, I recommend that you also cap your frames to the amount of hertz. it helps balance out the experiment a little better.
Btw there is a really huge difference between 144 and 60hz whereas between 144 and 240 not too much. Higher the refresh rate goes the lesser difference you will see or feel. Difference in 240 and 360 is even less

Hey, I need assistance on deciding which options. Okayy so I have a 60hz monitor and I’m going to replace that moniter with a 165hz monitor or 240hz monitor, buttt.. I have considered I could possibly get a 280hz monitor, and YET I don’t know if I should because I wouldn’t know if a 240hz would even work well on the PC, it’s a iBUYPOWER PC. I believe there is an inherent advantage to running your game at 240fps but having a monitor refresh rate lower. You still have more inputs per second and less of a chance of making a mistake. I noticed I get a lot more edits off on my 60 hertz monitor when I'm playing at a higher FPS on PC vs at 60fps on console

This reminds me of just a week ago I was on console mouse and keyboard, I switched to laptop for now and it feels way better and makes that feel like 30 FPS. Granted, it’s still 60 hz but no mouse acceleration and input delay still feels good. I’m getting a gaming pc in February also so would anyone wanna direct me to some good ones to get? What kind of pc did you get. (Assuming after 2 years you got one😂) I just switched to pc and got a ryzen 5 and rtx 4060 ti and it was 900 dollars. Runs pretty well I can get 500 fps uncapped and a solid 240 fps in game, only using 180 rn because my monitor is 165 hz

Why didnt you change the actual display settings to 60 hurtz on you’re pc ? The reason why I say this is because when I got my pc I never changed my display settings to 144 I was on 60 hurtz without even knowing it but my control panel was 144 so I changed my display setting to 144 as well and it feels so smooth and I don’t really like it made my movement so smooth that I can even edit as fast or reset is this how it has to be like someone please help ??

Goxiq my 144hz monitor broke and I went back to 60hz for the first 2 hours back on 60hz my sens just felt slower and it looked un smooth but after 2 hours I could play the same as 144hz it’s just a bit more input lag that’s all
