Simon Stretton is currently sharing his disability pension with a pack of 18 dingoes. His last ditch attempt to keep the doors of his dingo sanctuary at Durong, in south-east Queensland open, before the bank evicts him.
Simon ‘The Dingo Man’ has run the sanctuary for more than 10 years where he has rescued injured and abandoned dingoes. An $18,000 bank debt means that unless Simon can produce enough money by October he will be forced out and the sanctuary will shut down, the fate for the dingoes however is much more severe.

"They're not seeking human approval."
Be like a dingo.
Lol apparently most humans fit his description of a pet
I'm not seeking your approval!
What a lovely guy. Those dingoes love him, you can see that
Such a beautiful and intelligent animal.
Nice one.. Not even a link to donate.
Surely a gofundme page could help lessen the load?
Gidday Mark, I cant see your name anywhere>Can you please show me where you have donated, I'd like to send you something.
Hooroo
Simon
I would like to take this moment and thank the good man Marcus Thompson & his mate for taking the time to come out and meet my dingoes.
This is the 3rd time now the ABC have sent someone to the Sanctuary to film a story about me Living with Dingoes.
I really appreciate their interest in my work.
As a avid film maker and editor I know how difficult it is to cramp 5 hours of filming into 5 mins, so again thanks to Marcus for the many days he would have spent on this.
Also thanks to my good mate Dan Poole for allowing us the use of his drone footage of the sanctuary, it really puts things on a different level.
I am a long way out of clutches of the Bank, but I would like to offer my thanks to the people who believe in my work and who have donated so generously.
I will be sending you something in my appreciation.
Once again, thank you Aunty Jack and the ABC News Qld.
dingo simon You go Simon! I hope you get all the support you need to help your dingo mates.
Some of my best memories are from working out in the bush as a surveyors assistant in the 80's and occasionally seeing dingoes, the best of all was seeing two young ones playing together at dusk near the Great Sandy Desert, magnificent dogs to sit quietly and observe.
Of course you're a top bloke with that name, good onya mate!
wow. that would have been a great experience.
I am always fascinated by wild dingo behaviour, then after a lot of experiences you can almost predict what they will do.
If only more people like you world be a better place.
Well done and your doing amazing.
You are greatly appreciated Dingo Simon !!!!! God bless you sir.
Thanks for having us Simon. How's everything going at your end?
How about an Aussie millionaire pay this chaps mortgage so he can raise those damn wild dogs already!!!!
Ah yes, wouldn't that be lovely. Even if they wanted to sponsor in some way.
I had a dingo in the 90s his name was stub (his old owner cut his tail off and he had a stub....so stub)
He was the most protective/smartest dog I've ever had....when my brother was a toddler there was 2 dogs on the other side of the fence in the neighbors yard and he nudged my little brother away from the other dogs and would walk with him to make sure he didn't get too close to the fence....
I love dingos
Rest in peace Stub
If you're in Boston, they aren't real dingos, just dogs that look like them so Americans took the name, like they often do.
ABC News we need details so we can donate or help in some way, many hands make light work and many pockets can share the debt.
Gidday Jody, thank you for your interest.
A few links have already been put up in the comment section, but if you would like to help directly you can do so thru the website.
I look forward to seeing your name there somewhere.
You can just simply donate or you can adopt a dingo for 12 mths.
all moneys goes towards the dingoes upkeep, I am just the 24/7 unpaid curator, ahahahah

I have a pure breed dingo ,he so sweet loving and they are more like a cat like than a dog ,.that's for sure
Awesome video 🥰 I my self am lucky to have had a best mate in my Dingo..he's almost 10 and still acts like a puppy. Such a good soul..so nice to other animals and even cats and very gentle around children. But still a good guard dog and companion
I wish I could pack up and head to Aus to help. We have a Dingo and just love her
But it's not an Australian dingo. It's just the name that's been copied.
Dingos are sweet, i had two, they do like to dig alot and grunt. I miss my mates they died old age at 15.
The grunt! Oh my goodness, you have no idea. I believe my rescue pup is a dingo! He fits the description to a T!
I hate all jews.
@@alextremodelnorte1905 wtf
Beautiful animals
Imagine if all the vegan protesters put money into something like this
I hope you get to keep training the dogs and keep them and that they help you financially somebody comes forth God bless you
Thank you for some information about yet another of the wild dogs of the world. It seems incredible to many people that animals can be taught to interact with humans with very few spoken words. It appears that dingoes have some of the same body signals common in both domestic and other wild dogs.
This man has taken the time to educate himself about dingo life and communication. They in turn have given him their trust and a look into their history. I thank you again for a very interesting presentation.
Heartbreaking.
The RSPCA kills a third of their animals and only another third is rescued while the remainder stay likely to die. RSPCA is a death sentence for most animals
The govt should help
They are too busy assisting ppl overseas to help their own.
The Govt hates dingoes, they supply all the 1080 Poison to farmers to kill them.
@@Dingosimon not sure why? Their as native as a wattle tree or butcherbird... anything Australian needs to be protected and thats that.
@@mr.sunnyg5510 I love dingos but sadly they are actually not native. They have just been in Australia for a very long time
@@morgone8675 ??? so by that definition... so aren't aboriginals or butcherbirds. know they might say "ohh studys have found to date to 4,000 years ago"... i say look harder and you'll find one from 50,000 years ago, plus the paintings from supposedly "12,000 years or more (30,000, more) ago" with dingos on them.
this is their land mate, abit naive of you to say that.
I have an American Dingo (also called a Carolina Yellow Dog). She is my baby gura!
Could've at least put his gofundme in the description smh
They look like a tougher shiba inu.
Please help this man says his sanctuary. It is so important to save this species. They are wonderful and horribly misunderstood animals. We had two mixed breed Dingoes and they were wonderful dogs. Though we had them we understand the importance of keeping the breed pure and in the wild.
Gidday Bree, thanks for your interest in dingoes, would you like to come out to the sanctuary and meet the dingoes ?

Save the dingo!!
Cute wild dogs.
Politicians do not love free animals, even free people, tie thugs, everywhere without heart and without feelings, all over the world.
CROWD FUND THIS GUY
If I see your name there, I will send you something.

I love people who love DINGO. Sham on Australia; Dingo are way smarter than trump.
note to self:
Obtain Dingo, name it Bingo.
I have a dingo as my dog
Heartbreaking...hope he gets the financial support from dingo lovers to keep his sanctuary going...there will always be wounded animals in need of saving. Has he spoken to the NT gov about releasing them back in the wild ?
Adrian I live in Durong. Qld.
I am registered with Qld Biosecurity as a Zoo.
@@Dingosimon hoping to go on holiday to Queensland soon, looks like an awesome place to spend some time with these beautiful natives
Just wondering there are 2 figures mentioned, is it $18,000 or $180,000
I look forward to meeting you, thanks.
www.gofundme.com/Save-The-Dingoes
Your a good bloke
So little land ? Dingo needs 50,000 acres at least.
And yes of course these RSPCA will tell people what is good for them. They will rather shoot these defenseless endangered Dingos than allow for their success in a sanctuary made a compassionate human being.
Ya doing good mate I've studied dingo's loophole feral dogs or wild dog's behaviour..and how important to Australian landscape and stopping domestic dog's example Labrador or terrier etc they usually seek human attention or they starve..dingo's usually destroy them female shepherd kelpie blue heeler can be introduced to pack...dingo's been around for thousands of years..why we kill them in middle of no way..should be trapped only on outskirts of city's..they mostly feral dogs
If you want to chase something, it’ll only move further away from you
Seems like the perfect farm animal if trained not to kill the other animals.
Why doesnt the government support his sanctuary !?😦 its to save Australias Dingos
PLEASE DONT YOU DARE KILL THEM! SEEK FUNDING DUDE
I love your life
Dingos are holy i wish i could help
You can't kill them my god really
Thank you for rescuing the Australian native dog bloody farmers who kill them..we have too much sheep & cattle in Australia
Leave this poor old guy alone RSPCA.Take a look at the heinous cruelty to so called pets all over urban Australia,Do your bloody job.
Where might one find a Dingo in its natural habitat? Please reply
Probably not a lot of support for a dingo sanctuary. It's not like they are an endangered species. Still I would've tried to get some fundraising money to help it make it viable long term before under taking such a task. Not sure what the non profit organization laws are in Australia or if they even have government grants. Hope he gets the help he needs.
Was good until he said "I'll kill them all" just because he's going to lose the land.! I mean you could sell them or just release them or give them away to another more stable sanctuary? And I know for a fact there are alot of stable good sanctuarys for dingoes
A GoFundMe would have saved this dream....
Has there ever truly been an SPCA in any country that advocates for keeping animals alive?
I have part of this mans dna
Excellent job for our native dog's or cat dog lol
Its not the taste of human blood its the environment the dog is forced into omg
Pity no one set up a you tube channel for him.
This isnt David Attenborough thats for sure
Wait. So sanctuaries are bad?
How could one not dingos are a type of dog dog is a type of god one of love for buddy
Free them with the other wild dingoes!!!!!!
Why was he asked to help the dingies if there only going to be put down why couldn't the he just leave the dingoes to find there own food now they are use to people feeding them it makes them dangerous so sad for the dingoes
I don't see the big idea. Just a man who owns 18 labradors
problem appears to be that he has debt issues with a bank.
This is messed up, and also why can't the dingoes be released into the wild, they are after all a native Australian predator.
Not allowed in SA to have them 🥺
Cruel and not any reason to cull them at all this is why the wolves in the US were almost extinct so if you take them out Australia will be on Gods list of first country to be wiped out~
They're not pets mate
G'day Newcome
Dingo King
Why would you cage a dog 🐕
What we should have done with the thylacine.
