Hey Kevin you’re videos are so helpful. I’ve got a 75 G5 100 that starts and runs well but the low end torque is suffering. Any small incline even in first gear and it bogs down and stalls. I’ve gone through the carb and oiler and they’re adjusted well and I am wondering if points could be causing the bog? Thanks!
You did a video where you talked about swapping the stator system from older ke100 to a newer one with rectifier explaining where the wires go but I can’t find it now can you remember which vid it is?
Kevin help me please do you think if i have spark i should be running ???? I dont have my feeler gauges right now but i finally accumulated spark with minor finagling and she mont run ???
There is more to running that spark spark is part compression must be better than 120psi carb must be in good working condition and spark must be strong There is no substitute for doing it correctly you will have to buy feeler gauges
You have a great channel Kevin, ive watched so many of your videos on the KE, really its helped me out tremendously. Setting points on this bike really troubled me at first, while trying this method I have had major issues getting it right, it made sense to me having done it this method before (on automotive points) but after many tries on my KE I came up with a different way of doing it (my only KE wrenching video on my channel) I would like to know what you think of my method despite you being a big CDI guy.

Hey Kevin, I have a 1978 ke100 and it has virtually no miles on it but it did sit for 30+ years. My problem is a very weak spark ⚡️. I’ve had it running and it died out of nowhere it had no spark. I changed the plug with a new one and still no spark but if I use a screwdriver, I can see a tiny weak spark jump to ground. Now remembering back many years, I always understood either your points work or they don’t . So do you think it’s the points or something else causing the very weak spark? Thanks Kevin, great video!!!

I have replaced the points and condenser with OEM parts, still nothing. Would you suggest having the exciting coil re-wound or possibly the magneto lost magnatism? I have repaired the stripped nut, tested the ignition coil, replaced Points/Condenser and set timing. Still no spark! Please help!

Hey there I have been working on a 1981 ke100 I had it running for a second and now no spark. One thing I have noticed is that the timing marks don’t line up when the points open is there a way that something slipped and timimg is now off?

Hey Kevin, thank in advance for the help and for the videos again. Just this weekend I had an issue on my 97ke100. Everything was going good, until the bike started stalling while running and then just ran like it was struggling for fuel. I eliminated the fuel problem by checking and cleaning the tank out, checking the filters, and then just testing it by hitting the throttle in neutral. The fuel was fine, so I narrowed it down to the timing and or electric spark. I’m thinking it’s the timing, since it throttles just fine, but it just doesn’t accelerate in gear anymore. Like i said, it just sounds starved for fuel and or misfires. What could you tell me about the 97’s? Since it seems like it’s not the same stator as these in here. Thanks once again.
97 doesn't have points it has fixed timing no points 1st check and see if has a resistor plug NGK with blue letters if yes replace the plug even if it looks good and do a compression test
