- Black bears were driven out of Texas in the early 1900s, but have been making an unprecedented, natural return to their historic habitat since the 1990s. Second Chance profiles the incredible black bear observation & research being done by the Borderlands Research Institute, conservationists, and West Texas ranchers.
This is lovely. I hope people can see bears as interesting animals with individual personalities, not terrifying monsters or pests. Thank you, HEB, for this documentary.
Thank you for giving it a watch! Bears are such a vital part of our ecosystem, we're glad to see populations rebounding!
I love seeing people wanting to learn to coexist with bears.
We do too! There are so many animals that call Texas home, they deserve to be honored and protected!
Thank you, H‑E‑B for providing these videos for Texans! 🤠
We truly appreciate you giving it a watch!
The black bear is really such a gentle creature. They just make a mess of your trash and feeders. We lived with them fine in upstate NY. It was fun to see them.
I Love my HEB, Thank you;)
Thank you. This makes me so happy. Texans, we can do better for the bears. 😊
We're glad to hear it, and are glad you share our vision for Texas!
Simply wonderful!
Agreed @Dionne2U2 -- what a beautiful documentary highlighting coexisting!
Fantastic video, gang. Keep up the great work - and look forward to hearing what you learn.
Great project but bears do grow. How do you adjust or get the collars off as the bears necks get larger with growth?
Very interesting video!
