Thanks for showing this. There are no other videos out there that address changing engine air filter for a 2019 BMW x5 50i. BMW dealer wanted $200 to change both filters. Looking back, that wasn't a bad deal considering the work and tools I had to buy for this job. I removed the plastic BMW engine cover and the angled bars first with a 19mm socket. Then I found it very hard to reach the back tork T20 screws holding down the filter cover in the very back. There is very little room in the back behind the engine block, so I bought a Dewalt right angle flex bit holder to attach to the drill. Also, to remove the filter cover, you have to loosen the clamp holding the air intake and try to separate it from the filter cover. The hex bolts holding the 2 angle bars are 19mm. So make sure you have metric sockets, which I had to buy too. Total cost, about $40 for the 2 Mahle filters and $70 for the tools. Took me about 25 minutes per side. I think there is a way to remove the back plastic/metal piece holding the rubber tubing by the windshield panel, which would make it easier to access the back screws, but I'm not sure how to remove that.
