The soft, medium and loud tones are played with equally as much passion. I imagine for most guitar players the easiest tones to play with passion are the loudest, but how do you play the softer voices with just as much speed, repetition, and passion? Beautiful music is not just about the loudness but about the softness as well. I think this is called musical dynamics and Estas is second to none on this.
