Best flourish tutorial on Yutube. And I've seen many 1. You have the move down 2. The music adds to it, doesn't cover your voice 3. You actually talk and explain the move 4. You show 2 angles 5. Difficult parts are repeated 6. Good video quality
I really appreciate that you did this tutorial. You explained very easy to understand. I just learned it in one evening and I can do the WERM, not so nice, but at least I can do it, just need time to practise more and more. But thanks for all the tutorial you have made so far.
Please take the time to read this. It might help out with your card magic career. I quit card magic and cardistry 8+ months ago. I only just started a four weeks ago. During that timespan, I stopped practicing cards. Then, during a special event I attended, I saw a Asian boy practicing cardistry off to the side of the party, using a black Fontaine deck. He was avoiding the party completely to do something he (I would assume) loved. His card handling skills were exceptional. I asked him his name and complimented his skills. He looked at me and asked: "You play cards too?" "I used to" I replied The boy handed me the deck and smiled. I attempted a Sybil Cut and half the cards fell to the floor. I quickly bent down to pick them up. He spoke to me: "Why did you quit?" "I guess I was too impatient" I shrugged "But you liked to play cards right?" "Yeah" "Then spend all your time into doing what you love. You need patience to be sucessful. It doesn't matter how slowly you go, as long as you never stop" I later found out that he either quoted that from the internet or the internet quoted that from him. But it still motivated me to never stop trying. He helped me start up magic again and I aim to be one of the world's greatest. Never stop trying your best, or you'll lose too much time of your life not trying to be the best person you can.
Thanks for the tips. Really.helped especially since you gave a great deal of detail and the camera angles allowed me to see the way the packets were supposed to look like.
To all the people who say he didn't do a good job teaching this, I'm a magician who is just starting to pick up cardistry and after watching this video one time I can do this move perfectly. Not fast but without mistakes.
Omg.... THE BEST tutorial on The Werm EVER!!!!!!!! I already knew how to do it from your last tutorial, but WOW.... this one maked me do it even better!!! Cheers from Portugal :DDD
Jay you're great at teaching this kind of stuff! Im a beginner but after a week of practicing this I finally got it through this video! You explain everything so perfect man :)
Cheers for this! I have been playing with tricks for a while but wanted some flourishes to add to routines, this was a nice and clear explanation at a good pace (i did have to pause and have a few tries) but think I have it nailed now!
Because some people, like myself, are complete beginners and him explaining all the moves completely is a big help. Understandable if you know these moves already but if someone had said to me, ok start with an N or a Z grip I'd have been completely clueless. It's an in depth tutorial so all the moves are shown.
I'm a 14 yr old who wants to learn this crap, and my hands aren't that long so this is really hard, plus your tutorials make more sense because of the point of view (for me it makes sense)
Awesome, just earned a subscirber. Do you have any thoughts of doing the pandora or jackson 5 tutorial? I have the trilogy and trilogy 2 is horrible at explaining since it's just captions.
As much as I'd love to post a tutorial on those, I don't like to post content that isn't mine to share. The Werm is alright to post but like the deeper more advanced flourishes are Dan and Dave's and I'm not sure if they've given their blessing on posting that sort of content. I'm sure I could get away with posting the tutorials but I'd feel bad about it you know?
And yet another fantastic presentation, tanx Jay.You seem to have under complete control at all times :)Which gives the learner confidence that it CAN be done... LOL :))
I have learned a couple flourishes now - The Werm and Sybil Cut - but it seems that people aren't impressed. Are flourishes supposed to be for self-gratification only?
When i try it i have a problem when you want to make the werm (make the center werm card contact with your/my pinky and thumb) then i realised When you wiggle the first part up/ towards you , you pull out the center werm and when you wiggle it down you should make the card contact with your pinky and you can move to the next step. And it works lol
very cool. just wish "just break off a card" was as easy to do as it was to hear you say it lol. the only place i got lost. you know, for the bottom of the box?
I just found this video and its really cool. Im having a problem with keeping the middle card (once the werm is flourished) flat. It keeps on rotating between my pinky and thumb.
More tempo plx? This video could have been like five minutes long. I hate having to fastforward like crazy due to super slow tempo. Feels like a tutorial for dummies.
You know what is weird im new to all this (not really its been like a few years in done some tricks.) I am not able to do the water fall and riffle anymore but i can do this no problem with my eyes closed. But people really seem to like this even though its not like a trick its just holding things.
Batman Loves Pancakes Lack of grip on that center card it sounds like. Try practicing extremely slowly, making sure that all aspects of the flourish are nailed down to the core, and when you begin to open the werm make sure your grip is tight and you have complete control of every pack/card
you take ages on the easy parts, then you just say "and now use your pinky to take off one card" but my pinky was facing up not down.... AGH!! You are epic man, but I think I find the hard bits easy and the easy parts hard....
True he spends ages practicing the stupid “Z” then basically skips over the entire box part, not to mention the annoying repetitive music in the background.
If you quit trying to look like dan and dave (don't pretend like you don't) and get your own look, your channel would be one of the best tutorial channels on cards.
+Gav Hern 1) use your middle finger as the pivot point. 2) watch where Jay puts his index finger on the card(very important) 3) move your index finger in a circular motion clockwise.

This is the best tutorial on UA-cam if u want to easily learn a flourish in no time
Jay nation is a good teacher

I used to avoid this tutorial because of length. I gave it a try and found the amount of detail amazing. Thank you!
100% the best tutorial that exists for this flourish

I have no doubt the quote came from an Asian kid. So many proverbs.
best werm tutorial i have ever seen
please continue making flourish tutorials
Thank you! And I will!
Jay Nation alright keep it up
A very well done tutorial! Was easy to learn and the explanations where clear. Thank you!
Jay I'm pretty sure the world of cardistry wants to be like you dude.keep.....being...awseome. thanks for the video. you rock
+skating spades Haha nah, there are plenty of better magicians out there!
Thanks for the tips. Really.helped especially since you gave a great deal of detail and the camera angles allowed me to see the way the packets were supposed to look like.

It's not easy to find card flourish explained that well!
You are most welcome!
Thanks for this tutorial. Really clear and easy to follow along.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad I was able to help!
seriously.do you need to repeat the whole thing at 3:20 while I have 3 packets in my hands unable to use the mouse or keyboard
Vincent Giza Tru that
I don't know why it's needed to explain simple shit such as z hold and such.
Because some people, like myself, are complete beginners and him explaining all the moves completely is a big help. Understandable if you know these moves already but if someone had said to me, ok start with an N or a Z grip I'd have been completely clueless. It's an in depth tutorial so all the moves are shown.
Vincent Giza I
i never figured it out till this video. THANK YOU
thanks so much dude! most understanderble one on the werm i ever seen! wish i stumbled on this vid first.
Thank you so much! I can learn this really easily now and with just a few more practice, I think I can get this cut perfectly
Justin Videry Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad I was able to aid you in this success!
I'm a 14 yr old who wants to learn this crap, and my hands aren't that long so this is really hard, plus your tutorials make more sense because of the point of view (for me it makes sense)
Thank you helping me getting this flourish done, im really happy to be able to do this now :)

When i try it i have a problem when you want to make the werm (make the center werm card contact with your/my pinky and thumb)
then i realised

It looks like you can use your thumb to swivel the cards from the bottom as well...am I right?
very cool. just wish "just break off a card" was as easy to do as it was to hear you say it lol. the only place i got lost. you know, for the bottom of the box?
nice tutorial, got it down quickly
Great tutorial!
Thanks for the tutorial
how in the world do you get the pivoted single card in the middle of the four packs to contact your pinky? I feel it would be impossible
What deck are u using in the vid Jay?
LukeCraftHD Arrco Blue Plastic Coated U.S. Regulation playing cards
My cards caught fire....... Did I do it wrong?
yeah
don't think so
Hey Cardistry To Learn This Much Time Required? Practicing This When You Have To Make It Slow?
Awesome tutorial awesome awesome awesome awsome
What deck are you using in the video?
very nice tutorial thanks dude :)
Giorgos Rusinov You're welcome my man!
I love this move !!
I really think this is cool and it didn't was that hard as I thought & damn it looks nice
I just found this video and its really cool. Im having a problem with keeping the middle card (once the werm is flourished) flat. It keeps on rotating between my pinky and thumb.
wateragony Just keep working on your finger strength and try to be as precise as possible with finger placement. The rest is just practice!

Epic work
Great vid, what deck is that?
That is a Blue Arrco Plastic Coated Deck
Nice vids, congratulations man.
Diegobalgeatle Thanks brutha!
best tutorial ever!!!!!!
you have that very specific order for the cards. is this to put it back in original order? I dont have a pack on me to see.
i don't think it is a false cut, it is meant for cardistry so it doesn't need to be
Very nice.Thanks
What a beautiful move just don't make my mistake (rip Black Bicycle Cards)
nice tutorial mate
Good tutorial thank you
I can do it now but when I'm in straddle grip it really hurts my pinkie linger so much.
Thank u so much. I can do it now !!
Nguyen Gia Khanh You are most welcome sir!
thanks great tutorial
Thanks man your are amazing
Guys,i learn this flourish in three days, its not complicated if you make it complicated😃
More tempo plx? This video could have been like five minutes long. I hate having to fastforward like crazy due to super slow tempo. Feels like a tutorial for dummies.
it is. seriously, started learning card tricks a month ago and because of his videos im actually pretty good now.
You know what is weird im new to all this (not really its been like a few years in done some tricks.) I am not able to do the water fall and riffle anymore but i can do this no problem with my eyes closed. But people really seem to like this even though its not like a trick its just holding things.
Flourishes are a beautiful manipulation of a deck of playing cards
Dan & Dave!
What are those playing cards?
Its amazing how good your are, compared to your age.
Thank you !!
Love the intro
I have a problem. When I "open" the werm, the center card flips and turns over. How do I stop this from happening?
Batman Loves Pancakes Lack of grip on that center card it sounds like. Try practicing extremely slowly, making sure that all aspects of the flourish are nailed down to the core, and when you begin to open the werm make sure your grip is tight and you have complete control of every pack/card
Great tutorial man!
great video trying to learn it. but me hands are too dam small XD and im spending most my time playing 52-card pickup but im slowly getting there :D
RegisideGaming Just takes a lot of time and perseverance!
nice thank you very much❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! made the werm so much easier!
You got it!
You think you can make a cool one that uses TG Murphy?
Are you referring to TG Murphy's deck flip?
yup :D
Sure thing! It's on my list!
you take ages on the easy parts, then you just say "and now use your pinky to take off one card" but my pinky was facing up not down.... AGH!!
You are epic man, but I think I find the hard bits easy and the easy parts hard....
True he spends ages practicing the stupid “Z” then basically skips over the entire box part, not to mention the annoying repetitive music in the background.
Youre the best
If you quit trying to look like dan and dave (don't pretend like you don't) and get your own look, your channel would be one of the best tutorial channels on cards.
i cant push off the single card from the top packet like at 3:37
it goes the wrong way
+Gav Hern
1) use your middle finger as the pivot point.
2) watch where Jay puts his index finger on the card(very important)
3) move your index finger in a circular motion clockwise.
I figured out my problem, i tryed having the backs toward me, the card pivoted the wrong way
did you managed to solve the problem?
yep
