@@PochiRS Yeah compared to your RS anything will be heavier lol, If you change the subframe I feel like it will save a lot of weight there. As for the swing arm. The one from Aprilia MX fits if you change the shock & linkage along with swing arm but it only saves like 0,3 KG.
That is going to be quite expensive. It's not really in my budget. And I'm looking for an AF-1 too. Let me know if you have any more good information. Thanks.
@@PochiRS Ahh okay. Not sure if sub/rear frame would cost much but I'm still getting around to it. The carb manifolds are quite rare for SX, Heard ones from the KTM may fit but haven't tried and may not reach airbox. Although HTM Racing may have something and also sell an adaptor to run a 320 disc if you don't make something, that is.
Your engine is running to lean. Thats why the revs won't drop. Could be because of the cracked intake manifold. Carb could also be dirty or jetter wrong. Great video, good to see you back!
I agree. I couldn't get a good shot of it, but the carburettor is not in good condition either, with petrol seeping out of it. The first thing to be done is to replace the intake and disassemble and clean the carb. It will take some time to get the parts. After all, this is the Far East Japan.
Yeah, you have the the sx linkage to a mx one as well. Nearly rebuild my sx 125 09 just waiting on phone call from powered coaters to collect the frame, swing arm and some other bits. Full nut and bolt rebuild from ground up.over a years work. Everything is done
goddamn your aprilia is in crazy good condition compared to what you can find here in Finland. All aprilias here are just abused. i also have one a sx125 with 140cc italkit if you want to check out my profile but it has been very abused but it still runs good. Rotax powahhhh!
nice, ive got an sx125 too, changed to vhsb34ld, v vorce3, 140ccm, rave2. it runs very good but i feel like the gears are alot shorter compared to the rs125. hope you are gonna post more about the sx
Slight air leaks on the inlet boot from the carburettor can be determined by spraying the engine with parts cleaner. This is because if there is a leak, the engine speed will increase. I thought, no?
That sx looks completely stock. Looks like no ones messed with it which is pretty surprising. I own an aprilia mx 125 and iv seen people fit the swing arm and complete front end from the mx onto the sx. You end up with a much better quality rear swing arm and the huge disc and brembo brake upfront
This model is rarely distributed in Japan as there is no Japanese version. It's going to be difficult to get parts. It would be nice if external exteriors were inexpensive, even Chinese.
@@PochiRS yeah thats the only problem with these bikes. The mx is the same you can't get parts anywhere even here in the UK. You can buy some engine parts and things like brake pads and sprockets but no plastics or seats or anything like that. China don't sell anything at all for our bikes
@@PochiRS I have a gianelli on mine it sounds ok but if you search aprilia mx 125 scalvini on UA-cam there's 2 guys showing off a mx 125 then he does a drive by and it sounds amazing. It sort of sound like a yamaha yz 125 or similar so I say go for a scalvini for sure

Hi Pochi, I'm currently in Italy and I could help you looking for an AF-1 125. They're quite expensive now, mind that, but you could still find some. Let me know! Also look for KTM reed valves and intake boot, some years are compatible with rotax stud pattern. There are still some rotax 122 intake boots, ready to be mounted with the classic vhsb 34.
@@PochiRS They are not cheaper than RS 125s, which are getting crazy high expensive - about 2500-4000 euros. It's a matter of luck basically. Market has been ruined by wannabe rich guys who overcharge for anything
@@PochiRS you could have more luck in Poland or UK where they're not that expensive. I could help for spare parts in case, as in here the market Is massive. Sadly we got to these bikes a bit too late and everything got expensive.
Good you are back
it's been a while
man crazy that you´re still around. watched your vids like 5 years ago. your dedication towards those aprillia 125s is really inspiring
Thank you for your support over the years.
Sorry I've been slacking lately.
Clean looking example. Slowly building one myself. Be interested to see how yours goes.
It's going to be heavier, but I'm going to see if I can fit cast wheels for RS125 on her.

It's going to be a bit further down the line, but I'm thinking of asking HTM Racing to machine the cylinders, so I'll talk to them about things then.

Cool bike, I used to have one of these. The ugly steel swing arm can be replaced by a nicer aluminum one from an Aprilia MX 125.
Thanks for the great information provided.
What model year is it for?
I will look for it.

I have SmartCarb that I used the year before last, so I might install that.
Might be space-constrained though.
Good to have you back! Hope you are staying for a while😅
Thanks!
You will find that issue is usually caused by a slight air leak on the inlet boot from the carburettor..
I'll try spraying parts cleaner next time with the engine running.
@@PochiRS no it's the rubber boot that is in-between the carb and the engine block..👍

The aprilia racing logo is cool, isn't it?
However, it cannot be installed without removing the gear for the cell motor.
