    Would love to see a news report about how these automated hubs are replacing real job's and displacing families. Sick of all these puff pieces. Try interviewing at some of these hubs that lost volume because of these automated buildings.

      You need more people to operate an automated hub, especially in maintenance. I work in the logistics industry and automation does not eliminate jobs. It's very expensive to operate and are only done in areas where they know they're going to get high volume all the time. It's a lot cheaper to run a full manual station if the building isn't running much volume compared to a hub.

      @garcjr do you work for UPS? Are you working a split plit shift because volume was taking 2 hrs south of you? Currently we have 40 people working in an area called small sort. After they automate it.. they project that they'll only need 12.

      @backrack01 I work in the maintenance department. When my building got an automated smalls sorter we needed to man it from 12 to 20+ people. But at the time we got more accounts that shipped smaller packages to utilize it. I don't work at UPS so I imagine it's different there.

    What job do you have for seniors citizens
