The BABY syringe is used (usually) for LIDOCAINE to numb the skin before IVs or other shots like nerve blocks. I also use it to inject HIGHLY potent medications! Like when I only want to inject 0.25 mL 😬
I’m guessing pain meds ? You are truly an amazing anesthesiologist I live in Buffalo New York, I love your videos you explain things so nice . You break it down so everyone can understand it . Please keep your videos coming 😊
I've had a nerve block in my foot twice. It was 11/10 agony. When the local / needle hit the nerve (the first needle insertion briefly didn't hurt but) seconds latter I SCREAMED and reflexively kicked the anaesthetist and the kidney dish right off the bed. An old lady nearby started screaming. Both times it was absolutely excruciating. Torture. I would not be able to repeat it. How can patients possibly be able to tolerate nerve blocks to other parts of the body without absolute agony ? When you talk about them, it is like it's nothing ?
I had a spiral fracture of the humerus in my left arm had a nerve block. It was no problem then I had that shoulder replaced and had a nerve block had a little uncomfort before the surgery of the replacement but that was it. I was thankful for the nerve block after having my shoulder replaced I didn’t really need that much pain medication. So nerve blocks are awesome. In my opinion.
If patient wakes up in PACU with multiple hypertensive readings, zero preexisting hypertension just pain and anxiety, would the medications cause that or more likely still pain& anxiety
I had surgery on my wrist three times now, the ganglion cyst just comes back overtime, it affects my quality of life and lately Ive been feeling like it’s permanent, any tips doc? just thought Id ask

I'm so sorry you experienced that. I've never had a patient share that experience. It depends on many factors, we can talk more on the next live

It's typically related to pain, but can also be from pheochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism, and other medications given during surgery

I'm sorry to hear that, that's a question for your surgeon
