    Programming by Steve Ettinger, Graphics by me; one of the amazing achievements at the time was the animation Steve provided by having the foreground images and background images go in opposite directions within the same pixel areas...
    We came up with this game back in 1980...33 years ago!

  • @funnypaperz
    @funnypaperz 11 років тому +12

    If you look close - you might decipher both of our initials written in the stars - SEE for Steve E. Ettinger on the left - JAF for Joe A. Ferreira on the right...I think we got in a little trouble for that at the time.

    I remember playing Intelivision Live at my uncles house years ago. I tried that carousel game which I think was categorized as "Unfinished." I had no idea what the hell was going on.

    For those of you that either have discovered retro-gaming or are old enuff to have played them new - I'd like to share a review of a new PS2 collection that includes one of my never-released Intelevision creations: "MAGIC CAROUSEL".
    MAGIC CAROUSEL was designed to be a digital/video version of a pre-schoolers "busy box".

    Watching a video so old that it itself is almost retro, that's about retro games while thinking back to a time that these types of CGR videos were still being created, makes for a really wierd nostalgia-inception. Damn, I miss when CGR made videos like this about games.

  • @JerryTerrifying

    Man I love CGR reviews. It's an essential part of my day.

    Tower of Doom alone is worth this game. The best real time Rogue-Like ever made, imo.

    You can even use the DJ Hero Turntable Controller on the Intellivision but only on Magic Carousel.
    Did you see the icon for it? It is there.

    Also, what happon to the VETrax!?

  • @AzureGoat
    @AzureGoat 14 років тому

    @Blockygraphics looking at this I see your point. There may be some sort of retro revivial of the 00's at some point but it would be nowhere near as big as the 80's- early 90's revival.

    I know it's a good game. I wish I could have been born 10 years earlier (1977) so I could have started my love for Video Games with the classic 1st generation gaming consoles. It would have been a blast to even start out with the Magnovox Oddessy!

    @Blockygraphics I looked up consoles on eBay and Amazon and most were around 50, 70, and 100 dollars. Yeah the common games are pretty darn cheap but there's expensive shipping, and 2 dollars is cartridge only, new is about 15. But it's the rare games that piss me off, I could simply NOT FIND Pac-Man or Thin Ice, at all! What site has a working Intellivision for 20 bucks? And do you know where I could find Pac Man and Thin Ice?

    Would have been nice for you to highlight a few of the other games on the disc. People not familiar with the INTV might get the impression that the Carousel game is one of the mainstays of the system rather than an after thought. Space Battle. Astrosmash.
    But to be fair, you are not that familiar with the system. So you wouldn't have an extensive knowledge of it's library.
