Do you think the Chargers would pick Brock Bowers at 5th overall or not? I feel confident in him being a great TE in the NFL but will the Chargers pull the trigger? 🤔⚡
There are two scenarios I would like to see as a chargers fan and this is in no particular order: 1. Trade down to the 11-15 range and take terrion arnold. Take a reciever with our early second like an adonai mitchell or a keon coleman or honestly anyone who's available and highly touted. Build the O-line and D-line as well as draft a RB in the rest of the rounds. 2. Take Bowers at 5. Take a corner in the second. Run it back one more year with QJ. Build the trenches in the later rounds and fill positional needs the rest of the draft. Don't think we need to take a reciever at that early of a pick because there is still a chance that keenan and mike are here for longer than we expect, QJ could still always turn it around, and we could get a good reciever from this draft as late as the third and fourth rounds.
All great offenses have great tight ends just like chiefs, ravens, 49ers if we look at past teams like patriots, with gronk, chargers with gates, even 49ers back in the day with Vernon Davis so I really believe in drafting bowers for us
A trade down is more ideal we can fix our depth in one draft and acquire something for next year plus Travis Hunter is coming out next yr. I’m not so smitten over bowers Georgia dominated everybody during his time there
I think we can trade down between 7-11 and still get him. I'd go Bowers, Powers Johnson or Frazier in the 2nd. After that it really depends who's available at position of need.
As much as we like Brock Bowers, I believe chargers will trade down to accumulate draft capital. If they want a TE, I would honestly take a look at Michigan’s TE, AJ Barner. He got the size and blocking ability and is Harbaugh’s guy
No I don't think we should pick I think we trade down around 10 -15 get more pick Harbaugh has the insight on what's out there and I believe Jahem Bell could be a nice TE and wr could probably see him early 2nd
He is a great TE and a great fit, but so too are Joe Alt _ Having two potential Allstar OT Bookends to protect our QB would be a "great fit" as well as Marvin Harrison jr. I will not be disappointed with any of those - or if they trade back and add a few extra starters at the cheap would also be perfect fits. It would be nice if we could take 3 players without #5 pick - I'm still trying to figure out how to do that in my mocks. :)) In the 1st 3 rounds we have 3 picks, and we may have 5 or more "needs" after cap moves. So having a great TE would be awesome and I will not complain, but our QB would be great and our RBs would be great if the OL would learn how to make a clean pocket or a hole. All season I have seen Herbert running for his life and I have yet to see a real "hole" (That's what he said) for any RB we ever tried. I really like Bowers, but we may need to replace an Edge (or two), a WR, a Center (our starter is retiring, and our backup is a FA), we could use another stud OT to help protect our QB, we need a good CB, S and DL and LB - There are 7 rounds, but not likely to get starters all the way through the draft. I hope for a starter in Rounds 1, 2 and maybe 3 - after that it's a lot more hit or miss. So yes, Bowers would be great, but trading back and getting an extra couple of picks early would be "a great fit" too.
If the Falcons would come up to TRADE with us , so they could get a QB at NO # 5 , we drop back to NO # 8 with there pick + another 1 or 2 and could still get Brock Bowers at the NO # 8 spot , then that would be GREAT , all the way around ? Pick up some OL / C in the 2nk & 3rd rounds , then . tackle & center spots should be good at least to the 3rd or 4rth rounds , they are saying ?
To the fans who are on the OT train at #5, that is a very bad decision. There are two types of draft value. How valuable one position is compared to another, and how many good players at that position there are in the draft. There are, no lie, five other tackles who are not too far off Joe Alt who will be available in the mid to late first round. Corner, is another deep position. Same thing for d-line. And receiver. Do you want to take a guess at which position isn’t? There's two tight-ends that can be legitimate contributers early on. Bowers is by and far the better of the two. And in a Harbaugh/Roman offense, tight ends are essentially the #2 receiver. Don't look at him as just a tight end, he's also a replacement for Mike Dub.
In this mock, I traded down with Pittsburg and expected Bowers to be gone: 20. Brock Bowers TE Georgia 37. Brian Thomas Jr. WR LSU 51. Zach Frazier OC West Virginia 69. Kris Jenkins DT Michigan 84. @@fscorpion678 Better players then him have fallen further. It is typical for just about EVERY single draft to have players fall. Drew Brees fell into the second round. Lamar Jackson almost fell out of the 1st round; Aaron Rodgers was a "certain Top 5 and most certainly was going to be San Fran.'s Pick at # 1. If I were the Chargers, I would only go WR if Marvin Harrison Jr falls to #5. Otherwise I would be open to trading down slightly to go after Bowers or a top OT (Alt, Fashanu or Fuaga). Chargers need to get tougher on the OL. Harrison is a generational talent who would replace Mikey Williams who is a great jump ball receiver, but gets hurt too often (Joey Bosa-like). We definitely need to execute on an excellent draft. No more Telesco picks that never contribute. What’s the point of weapons when Herbert is constantly harassed? Trenches is the only right decision at #5 or Trade back. But no, I don’t want to see Brock in a Chargers Uniform.
So, what is the POINT of doing MORE 1st rounders on the OL & if they still look AVG at best protecting him or the running game ? Still bringing up MORE 3rd & longs , then with NO help, even MORE injured weapon players OR more dropped balls ? Do they both , still bring up MORE punts for J K Scott to be doing ? KEEP in mind Mike Williams & Everett , both may be gone , along with Parham ? So , who is Herbert going to throw the ball to when Allen & Palmer go down, just like they have the past 3 years ? The Chargers have already dropped hints that they are souring on Bowers, and that he is not as good as others suggest. I am guessing that is because the Chargers love big players and the only knock on Bowers is that he is small for a TE.

I would like to trade down, add picks and build the trenches. If you can't find a trade partner and keep the 5th pick I would be thrilled with Bowers though. I think he is the biggest impact player and hard to find anything similar. Meaning there are a lot of good tackles, there is no other TE like Bowers.
I just saw today that the Bengals are interested in Bowers, they have the 18th pick. He should be gone by then, maybe they're thinking about trading up?
God I hope we dont waste this pick on a "generational talent" TE. Realistically we need to take a lineman here on either side. There is PLENTY of talent in this draft we can get an offensive weapon in the 2nd or later rounds. We aren't winning the West next year, its going to take time for Harbaugh to fix our mess. Use this draft as way to solidify our lines and get our defense back to middle of the pack at least.
So, we are NOT winning the AFC this season , OK , I might buy that part ! BUT , we are not just winning 5 games , either , JIM is good for at least 3 to 4 wins OVER Staley , with us playing much weaker teams this up coming season ? . You know what we are ALSO not doing in next years draft class . We hope NOT to be picking at the NO # 5 spot & oh , is there GOING to be a TE , even close to Brock , next year ? Will we even be in the spot to grab him , then ? We have 2 TE"S , that for the MOST parts will be gone this year ? You think we can just play around , like they REFUSED to pick up a nice TE in the 2023 draft class that was loaded with them ! Parham , if we can keep him & Stone Smart are not the answer to our TE BIG problems ?
@robertd.7060 the #5 pick is to valuable to use on such a lesser effective position. If they solidify the oline it doesn't matter who's at TE, Justin will have the time to get it to the guys we have. You think Atlanta isn't regretting getting their "generational" te at 4? I think it's also just to risky of a pick for new personnel as well.
I'm sure Bowers is talented, but I really think, that position of dire need right now for the chargers is center...... if you look at last season when Lindsley was out, we flat out stopped having a runninggame ...... and pass pro was abysmal...To me its the reason Herbert got injured. Bowers I'm sure is going to have a good career in the NFL. But prio no 1 should be center.....
There are centers in this draft , tackles , too ? 2 TE"S is all people are talking about in it ? Brock is said to be way better then that 2nk TE is to be ? Oh by the way If Everett & Parham go by, by as FA"S , You got a lot of faith in Stone Smart ? OR maybe we could bring back our EX stud [ ASHTRE ], to play TE for us again ? Now there is your 3rd round waste of a F#CKING pick at the TE spot !

You think Atlanta isn't regretting getting their "generational" te at 4? I think it's also just to risky of a pick for new personnel as well.
Must’ve never seen gronk at Arizona if we calling Brock the greatest😂
Praying for wr
Trade down and draft for the trenches!
What if we trade back a few spots (like to #10 with the Jets for 1 example) and STILL got Bowers and another player in the first 2 or 3 rounds?
Draft back stack them picks..
Thing is, this draft is deep at center. We can easily pick one up in the second. Especially if we trade back and get Bowers at 11-8.
Now there is your 3rd round waste of a F#CKING pick at the TE spot !
i'd love to have bowers or odunze... alt would be boring, but a good addition. regardless, though, we're gonna get a franchise piece in the draft
TE is NOT the greatest need. Where's the beef?
Let him play for the Titans. He doesn’t want to play for ⚡️⚡️
Dude stop listening to the Titan propaganda. He said he'd love to play here too.
Would you Cry if The Chargers draft a OL @#5? I, Think They're going to Throw The Fans a Curveball. Remember, We Wanted Zay Flowers and They Wrecked Us with QJ. 😂😅 Offensive Line ( Center/Tackle) @ #5! We, Will Find a TE in Round 4.
