I always was confused how i was teached about the bible.Heaven and hell concept in church just didn't matched how i was thinking about it. Since i started listening to rabbis i finally found people that matches my tought about 99% subjects in the bible❤
I loved this video! It summarizes all that I have learned about Judaism the past months. And I have a great deal of respect for the Jewish traditions, values, and the way of approaching life.
As a ir catholic we have a few dietary rules on certain days , like Ash Wednesday Good Friday ect. People would say it’s nothing compared to people who keep kosher. But a lot of catholics particularly Irish bless them sleeves wen a ambulance passes or prays to a saint for a specific reason. Religion can seem complicated but all religions have rules and traditions. It’s understanding them is wot is important
Very good and informative video. One correction: ”Mormons” do not have a rule against drinking caffeine. Our rule is to not drink coffee (either caffeinated or decaffeinated), green or black tea, or alcohol.
I got a lot out of this video. I'm reading a book that lists the 613 mitvahs (I think that's the right word), and it all seems so random and overwhelming to me. How can you remember all of them? Your video put it in context.
Among observant Jews, modesty is a must; there are different interpretations. Some say that in the past, a woman could not wear jeans or pants because it is forbidden to cross dress but now it is allowed since there are pants specifically made for women. There are some that require skirts considering anything else immodest. There is much diversity across the Observant/Orthodox spectrum. It depends upon the community. Modern Orthodox are more open to the outside world and their fashions are more like the outside world than Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox) Jews.
Basically there was this movement in Europe called Reform Judaism where they pretty much took more of a scientific but moral approach rather than spiritual. They reject common traditions like Religious Zionism and circumcision and some laws. This was due to make it easier for Jews to assimilate into Christian countries and take on their cultural values
basing rules on interpretation of the bible seems like a way to make some questionable practices I thought the lord's word shouldn't be interpreted by humans. that how we got from "“do not cook a kid in its mother’s milk" to not eating cheeseburgers that seems like humans creating rules that after a few centuries seem moronic
What religion is harder than Orthodox Judaism? In the time of the 2nd Temple, many Gentiles liked Judaism BUT: 1. Mr Roman, no more pork "I love my pork but ok." 2. Mr. Roman, no work on Friday night and Saturday. "Everyone will think I am lazy and I will probably be fired from my job but ok." 3. Mr.Roman, we will do a little cutting.. "YOU WANT TO CUT MY WHAT OFF? Hades no! Get away! Don't touch me."
Christianity was the first Reform Judaism. If Reform Judaism had existed at the time of Jesus, the world might well be Reform Jewish instead of Christian.
Reform Judaism of today is not easy because it is so confusing. They keep changing their mind. When I was a child, Reform Judaism was against tradition and their temples with organ and bare headed Rabbi seemed like churches. Now they added back much of what they threw away but it is optional. You are supposed to study and make informed choices which makes Reform Judaism of today the most difficult of Judaisms.
@@Rohit-jc2sm Hence, Reform Jews read the texts through the spectacles not only of a religious person, but those of the scholar as well. Some institutions are considered to be a product of the cultural milieu and societal norms of the ancient Near East when the Hebrew Scriptures were written down, and do not speak to our lives today. In addition, Reform Jews do not ascribe to the Mishnah and Talmud the same authority which Orthodox Jews do. While the Talmud and law codes guide the lives of Orthodox Jews, it is more accurate to say that they inform the lives of Reform Jews. Quoted from Rabbi Amy Scheinerman, Reform Judaism website

Then why are so much women not following the rools of modesty? Skirts as an example?
Jews practice Judaism in different ways.
