Yes, all the way. The firebox door isn't usually ajar and shouldn't be, maybe it bounced back a little after the last shovel of coal? As it was showing the fire a little I thought to film it just as a point of interest.
@@adgecutlerofthewest It certainly is. If you've seen the video on my channel of a steam lorry, I've actually ridden as fireman on that. Next time I do, I'll video that as well.

great video. excellent perspective
O for the joy of burrells machine cut gears, so smooth, love to hear what a fowler would sound like!!!!!
Like a cacophony of cracked Church bells? ;)
Can't drive one any distance without ear defenders on, personally...
The engine is so quiet - no clanging gears.
Indeed, she's a beautifully, meticulously well restored engine.
a beautiful engine to drive, with all credit to the owner's single handed restoration.
Excellent video, can't get over the speed you were doing, must be a bit hairy being on the steering wheel going that fast.
Nice engine. Like the braking. Curious about the fire box door being left ajar though. Did you catch a lift all the way home?

Bloody nice don't haveing the fire hole door open make your tubes leak?
Great footage. Runs nice and smooth. Do you know what speed it was averaging?
Probably cruising at around 16MPH, on a good long run recently we made an average of 10MPH including water stops.
